  1. Let me get this straight. You want to automate language retrieval instead of making a new cd with needed language kept and be done with it?
  2. myspacee, it was removed, or actually 95% of it in the vLite 0.9 but that caused hotfixes to fail on install, they probably need to update some parts of the WinSxS.
  3. Well if you have used vLite you would experience exactly that, remove all default drivers and put yours. So far it supports only the big boys, later they are all gonna be listed.
  4. Oh so you say with 0.9 where WMP wasn't removed same scenario didn't require Windows Media Lite? In that case just post any link with the video on which you saw that issue and tell me in short how to test it. Thx.
  5. -I-, stop answering on every driver question with a link to the driver packs! They are bloated and not related to this forum. infocus, if the link that you provided is for your hardware then download the Toshiba RAID Driver for Windows XP (v1.3.8.0; 04-10-2006; 465K) And when you extract it choose in nlite - drivers - insert - multiple drivers folders - choose the folder in which you extracted the driver. Select both displayed folders on popup. Then on the next popup select only Windows XP. Same goes for the second popup. That's it, then go next to the processing and create the ISO then boot from it once burned. Be sure to use clean installation files before using them with nLite.
  6. You should compare that with the full Vista but I know it can be a hassle if you need to do it on the real machine. On the other hand if you know how to test that virtually it would be great. Once you find that full Vista has no issue with it (without Windows Media Lite) provide me with any link on which I can test that and I'll try to fix (keep what's removed with WMP and should have been in the codecs).

    VLITE on YOUTUBE !

Kelsenellenelvian, bledd, it's not the same IP though.
  8. Guys what is the confusion with all of this? It's simply caching, haven't you done some tweaks around it in the old days when we had more access to it? Superfetch is just a marketing talk for a "better", more aggressive caching. If you have 1GB or more RAM it's recommended to keep Superfetch in order to have faster startup times. Only question which remains is how good is their algorithm to free that cached memory when needed. If someone could test for example how much RAM was available for a game during playing with Superfetch on and off that would be something to discuss about. Since memory also fragments I would say it will always see more with it off. And now we're back to square one lol
  9. Burning issues are only evident if installation fails, in his situation the installation went well but some main service failed, like RPC possibly.

    VLITE on YOUTUBE !

I don't mind. In my opinion you could tame down the enthusiasm a little if you want to avoid the flaming.
  11. Is it only an update for .NET3 or the whole .NET3 ? Try to download whole .NET3 and reinstall it.
  12. Ok, no problem I'm glad it's sorted out.

    vLite + DRM

If you remove the WMP, codecs and DRM support with it, then the protected movie can't be played.
  14. When do you get it? Did you removed Windows Communication Foundation?
  15. Try to skip addons and hotfixes until you see which is breaking it, if.
  16. I wouldn't have any problem with your suggestion but nLite never supported direct WMP11 integration in the first place. Try to find WMP11 x64 addon, if it exists, that could help you.
  17. m1c4d0, hi What did you think that Superfetch is about? Overclocking your CPU? (Sarcasm) It's "just" to improve loading times and the review author says it quite well, it's good if you have 1GB or more RAM. However some people would like that removed regardless. That will provide faster Windows loading times because it won't load the collected Superfetch cache. Same happened when Prefetch in XP is disabled, XP starts faster, but my Firefox does not.

  19. So it is only for the hardware polling after all. This can't help us with the removals, as far as I can see.
  20. It's not what you removed, I remove almost all components and no problem with the Nero, especially nLite, maybe check if you disabled some important service or integrated something wrongly. Already answered this to his email, if I knew that he was posting all around like a scared schoolgirl I wouldn't replied to the email.
  21. Seems kinda stretched, have you actually had any issues or just guessing?
  22. That's the bug when integrating the Internet Explorer 7. Thing is some people report that regardless of nLite so I never took it too seriously.
  23. Please check in Control Panel - Sounds if you removed all the sounds. It doesn't backup the preset file, yeah it should and it will in the next one.
  24. Jeronimo, indeed, performance counters can be disabled, or at least removed, it's just a reg entry in the services I think. I delete those performance folders in all of my services and then the performance counter configurator doesn't display any of them. About the Event Log...that one might get tricky as XP needed some hacking to allow the removal and I would like to postpone hacking Vista (if even possible on 64bit version) until it's the only big thing left. But then again maybe it removes just fine, we'll see in one of the next versions. Just to repeat what I said...that latency checker doesn't change the values whatever I run...then what is it actually measuring is the question, maybe it doesn't have anything to do with the processes in the background, maybe it all depends on the CPU driver used and ACPI pooling.
  25. Yup, it's really weird I chose to postpone that feature for 3 years. Going to add that into the 1.4, really good suggestion.
