  1. Windows 7 build 7070 x64 to Windows XP Professional x86 works like a charm here. Both in LAN and VPN.
  2. No comment...
  3. Fire up a command prompt under administrative privileges and type "powercfg -h off" without the quotes then hit Enter. Good luck!
  4. I'm sure when it hits RTM it will be made available for previous Windows versions too.
  5. Or it's probably your hardware not up to the par for Vista (since you didn't post your pc specs...)
  6. You cand find it (compressed: sysdm.cp_) in your windows installation cd under the i386 directory. Just expand it to %systemroot%\system32. And welcome to THE forums!
  7. Apparently, yes. EDIT: Welcome to THE forums!
  8. What does the Event Viewer say?
  9. And to take care of the cooling, shove the whole thing in the freezer (preferrably a professional one!) * MSFN is not responsible for any damages, directly or indirectly.
  10. Hello and welcome to THE forums! Now to your issue: do you have installed Ace Mega Codecs Pack or K-lite Codec Pack? If so, your best bet is to reinstall Windows Vista (yes, again!) then install Shark007's Vista Codec or ffdshow.
  11. nLite does exactly what you are after and it's perfectly legal as long as you DO have a valid licence for that Windows XP.
  12. Yes, go for it. I have been using one (on SATA though) and never had any problems.
  13. Have you tried updating the drivers for both NIC's and the video card? EDIT: Oh, and welcome to THE forums!
  14. Hello and welcome to THE forums! Go to Start ---> Control Panel ---> Programs and Features and uninstall "Microsoft Office Live Add-in 1.3".
  15. Is your computer part of a network with a domain? If so, do what you`re told, contact the network administrator as there may be a group policy enforcement that denies your access to WMC.
  16. @mold: Build 7057 is a leaked build, thus warez. You will not get help here with warez. Please read the forum rules before posting. Thank you!
  17. Get yourself a cleaning disk or better still a new drive.
  18. Hello and welcome to THE forums! Get rid of your Norton using SymNRT then get either a free antivirus or a better paid one. Norton products are resource hungry and slow down the machines they are installed onto.
  19. You seem to have issues with your machine whilst playing (even old) games. I would save up some money and put together a new one (or even look through companies' old computers when they are replacing them with new ones).
  20. Windows' built-in Fax and Picture Viewer. No need for a third-party app.
  21. You could set up a small sql server...
  22. I must say that it's an issue you should take up with Creative (good luck with that!).
  23. There's a huge difference between your card and boardbabe's one. Even in Vista, your card is not fully supported and the creative drivers are rubbish.
  24. Could be as it (most probably) registers kernel-mode drivers. What happens if you uninstall it (assuming it unloads the drivers correctly too), or better still if you don't install it at all?
  25. I would create a report case for Microsoft on this one since we ruled out the hardware and the drivers.
