  1. Yes. There is no way to save anything in nLite without actually launching the process as that is the moment the ini files are created.

    MUI problem

MUI is only intended to be used on an english version. Not on hebrew version. It only works one way.
  3. From previous discussions on the same problem, it appears you are better off in the long run reinstalling Windows, this time making sure it installs to C: drive.
  4. Most probably a hardware problem. Check for repair under warranty if any (how old is your computer ?).
  5. It takes even less time to integrate it once and for good as he did. And yes, there are side effects loading the ini file before SP3 is integrated. Some pre-SP3 components are ignored and have to be re selected. SilverArrow, the reason why RyanVM strongly recommends using his integrator is that he is understandably not supposed to give support for other tools (especially now that nLite's developpement is on pause). There have been known glitches with previous versions of both the packs nLite but once it's fixed, it is ok to do it with nLite.
  6. there are unattended mode that do not remove recovery console (read nLite's FAQ) . Maybe you can use nLite to recreate a 2nd cd with RAID drivers and recovery console ?
  7. Your running OS contains only SP3 updates usefull to your system. nLite is building an install CD for an unknown system. It cannot choose the parts of SP3 that will be used or not (SP integration is the 1st step in nLite), it needs the whole 300 something MB packet.
  8. jaclaz is correct ... - full format - in addition, scans the HDD If somebody is going to say something, please be clear. To me, "won't even touch" means "no read/no write". So either it scans or it doesn't.
  9. I take it that they are plugged in different outputs. Your processor being fairly new and IDT still making (other sound cards?) drivers in 2008, I doubt your driver is outdated or not working with an OS that came out in 2001. Unless the problem comes from SP2 or SP3, it looks like a configuration problem to me (sound level/muted /unable/disable/...?).
  10. ... You talking to me ? I do believe you. Actually I've asked that ages ago (in an other life) but never got a relevant answer but this (MS) one. I must admit it still lets me wondering... where is all that "formatting" time going ?
  11. According to some people, to have that feature, you have to slipstream SP2 then SP3, depending what service pack level you start with. I've never done such cd so I can't confirm.
  12. I don't now what you mean by "magnetize the data bits" but formatting (as we are discussing) will not restore anything. At best, sectors will be marked as unreadable (thus "bad") if any.
  13. There is no such thing as "speakers driver". There is a generic "speaker driver" but what you probably refer to is your sound card driver. Any info about what your computer is, what Operating system you are using now and what exactly you mean by "it turns out my drivers are out dated" is welcome. Maybe you mean that your computer came with an older OS and you try to install... ?
  14. What exactly is written on that CD ? Is there no second CD that says "Drivers & Utilities" or something like that ?
  15. For me it messes up something with the rights on \Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer as I can't create "Quick Launch" folders in it for any user. I had to create it with a PE. I'm pretty sure it comes from the addon as I retried without it and it was solved. ...But no IE8
  16. Have you searched the forum for "recovery partition" ?
  17. You probably need to create a primary partition on that drive then reboot so it takes the C letter or maybe swap your SATA cables so that the 320Gig comes first.
  18. That seems very unlikely. What Os are you cloning, what version of Ghost are you using and how did you create the image ? Are you cloning disks or partitions ?
  19. Regshot ? freeware. (I googled for 3 seconds)
  20. I'm always amazed by Jaclaz's posts, there is something mysterious about how he manages all those links. Anyway, 3 is the magic number as he probably meant this one: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=119463
  21. I've seen computers booting from USB starting 2004, I'd be surprised if that one does. Bios updates usually don't appear more than 2 years after the PC is out. You could try "Plop boot manager" on a cd but I don't think it'll work.
  22. -have you tried entering no password ? -if you don't select '"unattended" and the disc you start with is unattended, that part is not overwritten and I'm not sure the password appears in the ini files (I might be wrong here). Anyway you have a major problem and it would be a good idea to start again.
  23. First, the developer has left the building and the decisions on those matter are his only. Hopefully he'll one day to find more time to pass by and greet his fellow users. Here is a thread on same subject. As for help, people usually don't spend hours explaining about the program but rather like to answer questions that adress precise problems. Keeping in mind that nLite is for so called "advanced users", and that the basics should be rather strightforward to them advanced users. I hate sounding pedantic.
  24. What do you mean by "install Windows XP x86 SP3 edition" ? What do you have at first, Win98 ? Vista? XP ? Home? Pro ? Do you want to replace it completely ("clean install")? or upgrade ? Or just replace the system files ?
