  1. hmm the blonde u mean?
  2. hmmm hmmm hmm current user applies to Current User not all hklm would affect all the users not the current user.... edit: ok then go with the inf method, put the reg tweaks into hive*.inf's and it shall be applied to every user.. its the sure way of doing reg tweaks..
  3. lol lego's that's right they're awesome i love them a teammate from 1 of my classes designed his project with lego's . those pumps and pipes do work nicely with the arms!!
  4. i don't understand why u want to change it, i mean why have a username & password in winnt.sif then? since they're both admins instead of deleting them just overwrite them...
  5. ;Disable Fade Effects [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop] "UserPreferencesMask"=hex:28,00,05,80 use that one other one will create a string value with 28,etc.. the other one is binary, so use that. and frankly i don't see a change from 3e to 28 that's 30, if its not a typo.. mine's like this be 3e 07 80
  6. let me guess the HKEY_CURRENT_USER ones don't work right? run them at first logon...
  7. eheh if u dled it 2 weeks ago it was still in april there for at least 15 days after its release. so i'm guessing either they don't update their site too often or they just found about a serious bug? (heh that sounds funny "serious bug" i was just judging by their website.. trying to help. your mb bios can easily get f'ed up bc of wrong bios type. but i believe that why asus has dual bios
  8. wow 10 min search that's like too much searching i'd think u want to do it unattendedly right? in that case u can either put a batch file that'll do what jondercik suggested or there is another way which i cannot remember. its in registry... (i haven't slept 48hrs, i cannot recall much )
  9. hi there i think u forgot the "think of" changing the cd's & dvd's huh? u need a cd changer in order to use any type of automating tool... 1 way of kind of automating would be have folders that fits cd's or dvd's then drag 1 after the previous one completes..
  10. there is a shortcut to do that go to regional & language options from control panel then go to languages then go to details add keyboard layouts then go to "key settings" and assign a shortcut to scroll through them
  11. aa **** sony has a 1" laptop , what was the name of it, i saw it on japan site of sony. edit: I found it its .5" as a matter of fact http://www.vaio.sony.co.jp/Products/PCG-X505/index.html
  12. %programfiles%\winamp\winamp.ini has the settings.. the one in windows dir is for reg..
  13. 1st of all u should actually run the qchain after the hotfixes are installed. kb817778 is pain in the *** though its supposed to work perfectly with this method u're using.. I'd say u'd save a lot of time if u just use XPCreate By GreenMachine. it will slipstream these updates for u (except kb817778)... i think Q932483 is mdac i lost track of it so it needs, switches other than /q /o /z search the forum with 932483 u will get what u're looking for. though xpcreate also handles that.. so give it a shot !! the creation process might seem long but then u'll have a lot faster setup... good luck!!
  14. for ease of use I'd definitely choose ZoneAlarm, other than that i dunno about how effective each firewall is... i dunno the port for netmeeting but i'm sure google knows i'd call ghostbusters if i were you
  15. well thats because u have to change the registry entries password too. either save that portion to a .reg file and parse it with the new password or manually go to that string value and change the password. it won't automatically put the changed password into auto logon
  16. whaaat? steal your connection, how's that possible? even if u're on wireless router if u set up a firewall why don't u just enable the ports that netmeeting uses or whichever program u use....
  17. more more more!. i use the msfn mailer my mail gets checked every 5 min. i look at updates and news. sometimes i don't get an email, so often i check the board. the "my assistant" & "todays posts" do help!

  19. make a search in the forum this problem has been discussed billions of times.. I don't remember the solution sorry...
  20. hey read his website! or the finish off.bat! it says in there that u have to manually remove the driver folder.! those driver.cab files are the last bits that are left and compressed. u are safe to delete them! i'd use batches first then reduction as well!.
  21. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...t=0entry67576 check the 5th
  22. lol @picture rofl @"I'm going with a "unable to write docs, so look at the example XML" approach." best news ever "And you will all get to see how crappy my code is"
  23. task kill i'd assume is harder to use than pskill i'd grab pskill, put it in your system32 folder so that u can call it from anywhere then pskill "name of the file with extension" that's it.. for mirc it definitely should be working, one thing that might be confusing the xcopy might be %cdrom% u might need to re define the cdrom path in the batch file...
