that won't solve her problems though the idea of the virus is that it copies itself to other places after she stops those processes another process will be running. i'd go to registry wipe out the startup programs try msconfig if it doesn't let u open regedit also if that doesn't work go to run and type cmd then use "reg" command to delete the run key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\ HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\ if u want to delete the individual entries u'll have to query the values in them then delete the values... so like this to delete everything under Run keyor it will give u a list of programs that are working to delete them 1 by one go like this replace "name of process" with the name of the process without the quotes.... repeat this for suspicios values and also do these for the HKCU too and for services.. though i dunno if that particular virus goes into services.. then restart the computer after the restart none of those files should be running... then go through the suspicios files and delete them. and as said delete the temp internet files, delete this folder too c:\documents and settings\funpartyz\Local Settings\Temp and u're lucky it has affected your Deleted Items.dbx so u can also delete that dbx file and still be able to see your mails (not the deleted ones though..) good luck... have fun

u don't have an ip or a domain name set up they don't have any place to connect to simply because u don't have a server running. did u see the page "If you can see this, it means that the installation of the Apache web server software on this system was successful. You may now add content to this directory and replace this page." thingy when u first set it up? if u have your stuff on default folder go to .\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs and place an index.html there anyways i didn't have it installed on my newly formatted drive, now installed it filled the 3 boxes at the start up asking for domain name server name email, etc and placed a index.html in there and now its accessible, try to install it again... i mean i set it up in 2 min with 5 mouse clicks 12 keyboard commands. u shouldn't be having any problems... here's my .conf file but its like the default file conf.. httpd.conf try my apache at http://66.71.50.84

512@266mhz + 768 swap on 5400rpm game dir @7200rpm i lag too much bc of my graphics card . true it bumps lots of textures. i experience slow downs when i move my mouse cursor sideways.

well i've an integrated wireless card on my dell insipiron 8200 laptop, its not in any slot. and when i go to starbucks, heh i don't but whenever i'm in the wireless range i can connect. so u're saying its just they designed a motherboard with wireless card on board right? i mean a module inside the cpu? so the module will be there even if they don't have wireless card, bc i mean cpu is not acting as wireless card arrm hmm yea? i think that's what the computer's for so other than low power usage low cache, not much use on anything else I believe?

edit: god **** it i wrote a looooong post ie timed out all my writings gone so i'll be brief nice idea, i was thinking of a similar task myself but then comes the problem of asking all the components to the user then i though of this for the components section 1. default components (for newbie) so components prompt 2. average user (ability to remove msn exp/games/etc 3. expert user (iis/front exten/ everything.. then came the idea of "what if the user doesn't want default network components" u'd have to ask everything from domain name to dns numbers.. that's a lot of work and would be a looooong batch file.. so i've postponed that idea GOOD LUCK (sorry for the short and not so explanative post, it was reaaaally long b4 ie messed up.!) >>now saving post to clipboard for future ie f' ups

if u really insist on the long names at least get rid of those dots. u could go like this drivers\nic\3c920 instead of this: Drivers\_3c920.nic and while u're following the 000-001-002, u didn't put 001 and further more also i suggest this: if u really want the explanation of the drivers like version info, name supplier etc.. just make a txt file and put it in its folder so make drivers\audio\ create version.txt (any name) inside the version.txt put dell C640 driver version a10 release date ... then u will have drivers\audio drivers\chipset drivers\video drivers\modem drivers\mouse and u can even label them with 001-002-etc.. and actually the reason for that numbering system is bc 000 are for chipset 001 for something else 2 etc......
