ok go to run and type cmd then type ipconfig /all to get the ips of the computers then instead of writing the name of the computer write \\ip_number_here\ then it should work, also in that command screen try to ping the other computer if all fails the service might be stopped. then to go run and type services.msc and start the computer browser and other stuff...

okay let me clear things mce 2002 is being sold everywhere mce 2005 is on beta and will be released in 1-2 months.. the question is what does your Cd and box look like? unless u got OEM versions of MCE's they're supposed to come in a box a big one, is that how u got it? or did it came with your computer? and where did u buy them? where do u live? also u hate ppl ripping off companies, so u like being ripped of by companies?

yea that's why i had bought it at first place i was going to get netgear but i wasn't able to find it here.. also this model wag54g that i have is router + adsl modem combined. which is cool bc i don't have to get another modem

ow okay okay solved it i downloaded the latest beta firmware 1.03.0_beta4 from linksysinfo.org then upgraded to it (ow b4 that I downloaded firmware for my current version 1.01.7 as well) bc as expected when i upgraded it didn't even connect to internet so then i downgraded to my previous version 1.01.7 now its working well thanks everyone!!

i called them an hour ago some chineese guy picked up its hard to communicate with him, it took 10 mins to tell him that my modem requires level 2 technician and he is level 1 and told me i've to wait at least 30-45min!!! so i hung up i emailed them instead, it says i should recieve a reply in 1 business day

last time i upgraded the firmware the router wasn't able to connect to the internet.. (i know its wierd) but i'll try it again. 2 of my other friends have the same modem. 1 i just talked to, he said the had this problem last week as well. he said it just started working after few days.. i dunno his firmware other friend uses the newer firmware (which i had patched) he won't know it bc all comps at his house are connected via wireless.. so i dunno, i don't want to wait for indefinite time till the modem feels better?? so i'll patch and it see, but then i might not be able to connect to the internet. anyways i'll downgrade it if it fails...

i know the dns (2 of them to be exact..) its already entered... yes it doesn't work...

that's what i have on 1 of the wired computers static ip all dns stuff & gateway entered..

sorry misread it that's a NO i can only access from wireless ones.. wired ones get ip's like 169... so no ip from the router..

ok further step the laptop i'm on right now. i had formatted it 3 hours ago. wireless works fine. just tried the wired on it. it doesn't get ip, it doesn't connect.. so it cannot be a virus/spyware/etc... dunno what to do??

hi there first of all thanks for responding so fast now did what u told me. exactly. i turned on my comp went on to 192.168.1.1 then google.com then a sec later i tried to open google again this time in a split second it gave cannot find server error..?? the other comp does not connect to the internet as well..

hi there the linksys router + adsl modem I've is wireless capable. we've 4 computers at home 2 are connected via wires, other 2 wireless. as of yesterday wired one's cannot connect to the internet. does anyone know what this could be about? i cannot open the modem's configuration page (192.168.1.1) i tried resetting it, nothing changed...

ok not clear at all what test? i've never seen a test in nfs ug2 nor any of the nfs series which error message? can u get a screenshot? Press ALT + Print Screen & paste to paint brush save as jpeg..

u can easly alter that when installing alcohol choose advanced setup and change the name of the virtual driver.. to anything u like..

i don't exactly know if spybot s&d removes it but it should so download it, update definitions and search for that spyware.. if that fails google it it should come up with bunch of methods to remove it manually..
