  1. to me this is "the" keyboard http://www.artlebedev.com/everything/optimus/
  2. well we obviosly differ at some point, but if its backup we're talking about, hdd's that are laying around idle..well u might be right, but i don't back up as much data as u do.. i do put them on dvd's, in the future blueray or hd-dvd. good thing the hdd's shut theirselves down thesedays while they're not used, so less noise less of everything.. u could go 15000 rpm, 100gig on main hdd and for backup purposes 1tb's fine.....
  3. well everyone needs storage but say u have 1TB of hdd. u've windows running on it, u've your virtual machines running on it, u've everything running on it, poor little hdd. how on earth is it going to answer your needs? the drive's rpm is obvious. it is pretty inefficient to have 1tb of hdd at same rpm. instead i'd get 2 of 0.5T and i'd speed things up.. and have you considered, u'd be backing up, writing those virtual machine data's quickly with quicker hdd's..raw images, u can write them faster.. yes i know its a hard process to speed things up, but i'm just saying i'd prefer speed over TB's of storage.. i don't know if u remember but back in couple of years, ppl only had 4200rpm, 5400rpm, to them getting a 7200rpm hdd was like getting a new computer, everything ran faster. windows booted up faster, windows wrote virtual memory on hdd faster, games ran & loaded faster... there are tape drives which are very slow, they also have high capacities, why not prefer them? bc of speed right...
  4. http://www.cesweb.org/default.asp jan 8-11 las vegas.. i want to see better cpu's not quadruple, exponential, etc cpu's. maybe faster rams, faster hdd's!! don't care about 1TB, its easy to accomplish by adding hdd's. speed & accuracy is the hard part. i'd want that to get accomplished. and i'd like to see carbonfiber laptops, mine keeps getting heavier
  5. no bsod but other problems arise. i build the same exact configuration on xp but on vista it gives errors. (extraction error, see http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=90007)
  6. ahahah pretty clever i love that
  7. yea well seems like operating vlite on vista isn't the best thing to do I tried multiple times, apply method worked, but building didn't. i tried different folders, different drives, at the end i'm like this can't be vlite related, and i used the same ini with vlite on a xp machine. everything went fine. darn vista, i already hate u
  8. download waik tools: http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/6...5-LRMAIK_EN.img 850MB read the documentation use imagex.exe
  9. ok... its... well i dunno, i've to say i got it from msdn for testing purposes.. its the rtm version AIO 6000.16386.061101-2205 ... i tried copying the source via vlite from the dvd. tried it 3 times, gives out the same result. i'll try the apply method and will let u know. (i've to fit it into a cd, but for testing purposes i'll use the apply method)
  10. hi there i get the attached error using the attached ini file. after that stage it quits. i dunno what the problem is. Any suggestions from those of you who slimmed it down to ~700mb? TIA xtrememac.ini
  11. no the problem is not with my boot.ini [boot loader] timeout=5 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional new" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional old" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect nothing wrong with it...
  12. hi there, yesterday one of my hdd's had some bad sectors in it which I then recovered with HDD regenerator. but it seems some of the required files were corrupt and missing, for example ntfs.sys.. so i decided on installing windows over my existing windows.. just after it checked my C drive it restarted. then after that i thought i don't want to install it over and installed a new windows on a new partition so that i can have a windows immediaetly (thanks to nlite) so anyways here's my problem. I've copied the missing and corrupt files to my old windows and i'd like to boot that up instead. now when i choose that windows from the boot menu, i get the setup screen. How can i fix that?? which files are now changed(added/deleted) that are causing this? how can i get that windows back? thanks
  13. You've gotta read the forum a bit more...http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=&sho...ndpost&p=460809 I already read that! just pointing out...
  14. today i was making a nlited cd for a friend 1. i removed all the languages and keyboard layout except the turkish ones. finished setup and.. guess what no turkish stuff. well better yet all existed except turkish. then i re-ran nlite and this time didn't remove any language nor keyboard layout and guess what no turkish support either.. i used ryanvm's pack on both. RVMUpdatePack2.0.2a.cab i dunno it might be update pack related..
  15. seems pretty good \.. didn't like the widgets though... site preferences & block content ==> awesome!!
  16. i've been waiting for this those widgets... i hope they won't be causing spyware problems..programs trying to install by themselves. hmm torrent download that sounds interesting , i shall look into that but i highly doubt that i'll use torrent functionality, all torrent programs except utorrent use a lot of ram. opera itself uses a lot + integrated torrent program would be a huge ram hog
  17. don't be mistaken! perfect disk also has boot time defrag... it too monitors your usage and sorts files according to usage..
  18. hmm wierd i've athlon xp 2500+ 1gig ram + winfast 6800 gt and it works pretty nice. @ which resolution r u running at? i'm running at 1024x786 haven't tried 1280x1024.. also u probably have the anisotrophic & antialising at max from the nvidia panel.. i've them on software..
  19. yes u can play it i can even play this game on my laptop 64mb geforce 4 440 go.. at 640x480 but its playable..
  20. well i dunno about u but if a lot of ppl send emails to me saying "i want program X to be done" i would decide on doing program X instead of program Y where only 1-3 ppl offered....
  21. u could but u'd have to specify the folders to install for example when instaling office u can put installpath=c:\program files\ etc. etc. u can do this with msi and with other installers u're able to do this, with some of them u write -R in the command line to get the setup.ini file... look into the unattended guide and the forum to see which switches are accepted. so in the end yes u can accomplish it..
  22. wow 1200mb hope u didn't have important stuff in there but come to think about it, u deleted them i think the reason u deleted them was not to see them in the inbox right? bc obviously gmail has labels instead of folders and sometimes makes things harder to see. u could put not-so-important mails to low priority folder or something and wouldn't have to load the mails in your inbox.. okay its fancy and good that there are labels but there should be folders too right? i use outlook and download my email so i never have the issue of leaving stuff in the archive, as a matter of fact when i delete things i delete them from the deleted items via "delete them forever"...
