  1. what does that mean? anyways if u want a customized windows go to unattended.msfn.org and u'll find a nice little guide to follow.. and hmm no activation? how's that..
  2. u don't need to do much understanding when u're installing xp u just need to press several known buttons but that shouldn't be your worry what u should be worrying about is if its german or french the xp is going to be french or german, and its not easy to edit the files. get a new xp, and since its a corp edition from ebay I doubt its legit so .....
  3. hmm heh ok usefull answer.. well opera has a folder to cache its files mine's under this folder D:\Program Files\Opera7\profile\cache4 in there u'll see lots of files that start with opr**.* (not sure what u can do with them..) the last pages are lost? never had that issue, the pages that I open are cached and when I use the "show pictures only that are in cache" works pretty good. anyways 1 usefull info go to opera.com and they've a nice forum, i'm sure your question will be answered in a flash ...
  4. i'm not going to give u an answer but I've to say why are u gonig to do that bc 1. if u're going to put a mp3 either they will need to have a fast internet / or u'll have to decrease the bitrate.. 2. it doesn't have to be flash. look at mtv.com they've a mp3 player 3. still I cannot understand the reason why u'd want to put a mp3 player.. u can do it with java scripting + .class files and contain a autoplay=0 value to disable the auto play.
  5. start with c++ and i'd buy a nice book and most often those books come with cd's for the programs. I haven't yet came across a nice and free builder.. u can find a students c++ book and that'd help pretty much.
  6. pls keep in mind that xp is a flexiable os unlike unix/linux/macos ms has to make the os compatible with all kinds of hardware and thats not easy to do. everyday a new hardware comes up. as much as the manufacturers try to make more compatible hardware sequentially ms tries to get the most out of the hardware. in the week of july 19
  7. now that's creative
  8. omg longest time of mine was a week and I had enough of all the things u said. but I had the chance to check my most important email via my cell phone.. why the heck did u not have a darn phone!! okay things to do when going on a 3 week vacation or something. get a visor/palm or something of sort that's able to connect to internet other thing to do if u have a non-dial-up connection open your pop email account and let it send/recieve at least once a day. and don't let the internet go they should include a web browser in an ipod just 4 u post description? wow just realized I often use fast reply
  9. now tell me, u don't type these right? u just copy and paste them? pls tell me that!

  12. well there is a shortcut.exe utility somewhere along the board. I just saw it last week. try doing a search for it. its been discussed several times...
  13. I believe u don't even have to use resource hacker I think its just done with a simple reg tweak... but come to think about it it removes all the search menu along with its sub menus.. anyways u can remove the search function and on the desktop press F3 to search...
  14. no u don't need those during the setup, setup asks u if u want your files to be private or not. if u choose yes option all your files under documents and settings will be private. and since your desktop is under documents and settings it will be private as well. and if u look at the properties of desktop folder u'll see that the private option is checked. to get rid of that either 1. make a folder in root directory (c drive) and share that 2. use the shared documents folder (which is under all users) 3. go to documents and settings folder find your user name in there right click on your user name and click properties then click the sharing tab then u'll see the option make this folder private uncheck that to enable sharing on desktop..
  15. I did not understand your question though its okay for your computer to be making scratching noises and freezes especially if u have 1 hdd and defragmenting it and at the same time doing things in windows if u want to do whatever u want to do while defragging set the defragmenttation level to a lower state and which program are u using for defragging? (windows defrag?)
  16. nothing against the nice reminder but just wanted to say that even though I know how to use quote & code etc I got confused while I was reading reminder bc of \ / stuff I'd change them with something like this.. [code.] testing [/code.] (use it without the period [.] ) ^^__________^^ ^^opening tag ^^closing tag every opened tag should be closed so the output will be testing just for the ppl who're picky like me... and for those u don't know how to use the code buttons press the guided mode radio button and let it help u...
  17. if i were u i'd wait for sp2....

  20. well also u can add /SOS to your boot.ini after /fastdetect /fastdetect /SOS and it will show u the list of the drivers and files that are loaded at startup..
  21. there are many websites for sharing files x drive I believe was popular or u can simply get a geocities website host the file there and email your friend the url of the file if u cannot email more than *10.mb
  22. either use 8 digit folder and file names or put "" around the path names and file names.
  23. well i'm not sure but maybe u've too many running processes and too many downloads at the same time. and due to the excess usage xp might be temp freezing up otherwise it might be lots of things 1st guess would be a bad ram ...
