I am on Windows Vista after alot of monkeying around, I have it up and running. I am using XP drivers for my soundcard I used the "Live! 5.1 Dell" driver pack and extracted the driver file and used device manager to update the driver, I tried microsofts update after but ditched it cause the first one I can use my microphone and MS's was not functional on record. I am very proud to be using the latest OS and it actually works . Thanks to MSFN for all the links and tools. I found this to be the best way to make the disk, only use XP cause 98 wont cut the cake on this puppy.

I am trying to install Vista RC1 I put my key in and get the error code 0x80070570, I tried not puting the key and still the same error. I can use Command window. What is the problem? I burned and downloaded the file with 98SE, could that be it ? I got 1 more DVD and need to get this right, anyone know the fix? Thank you in advance

Ok big trouble! I booted from my dvd and all was well till I put in my key and got "Cant open or find Install.wim" Error Code 0X80070570 I guess maybe I'll DL and burn with XP FFS I didnt want the XP online but no choice now I guess.

Yikes, I downloaded it and windows said "Cant move or replace file, incorrect parameters" or some crap, I moved my TIF folder to my big drive and there's 8G on it, maybe the file is NTFS or something.......

Hi all, I need help tweaking my machine to handle 10MBPS It seems to be limited to 2MBPS. I had a tech use his laptop from my connection and he got 9.8MBPS Could this be my LAN card or is it a Registry tweak? I have a Dlink DFE-530TX Rev.C PCI Fast Ethernet Lan Please help

I got a Sapphire Radeon 9600SE and it has been fairly good, I play GTA San andreas no problem but I'm going to use a ATI 9800Pro, I hope it is a better card. You can use any new card that you can get, the better card would be a good choice cause the cards are backward compatible mostly so if your on 4x you will probably go 8x eventually so get a a good one now. Apparently Nvidia has a new 512MB Agp card for cheap but Nvidia is p***in' me off so I'd go ATI 9600-9800 from past experience

Did you try CLEAR CMOS and "load setup defaults" till you load windows then go back and "load performance defaults" to enable 32bit (on some), then tweak and peak back to stable settings? Make sure RAM sets to "NORMAL" not "ultra fast" or what have you. ps also try another HD in that computer and see if it loads on that and\or put the 80 in another computer and see if it loads on that or gives the same error, then maybe that will narrow it down.

PCI or ISA? And is it 100% Sound Blaster compatible? Could you test to see if you can run those PC demos above? That would be PCI and I'm not sure but it has them and is a very reliable and great quality, look here The 724 is quite a good card for me. I cant get SB0100 to work on 98se, the installer wont even see the card and that sucks, seems SB is not 9x friendly as of late. Did you get it to funtion on 98 with the drivers from Creative?

For all it's worth XP PRO SP2 is a MAJOR improvement over all previous NT based OS. It's nowhere near 98 for free-ness and ease but the "clear type" and "gum-drop" buttons are a very nice touch, check MP 11 Beta....It would be nice to see something that works and is more user friendly and obedient, and focused on personal\power home user\private\what I say goes\ as 98 but, hmmm

Try a DOS floppy and partition your drive. Try 4 or 5 GIG for C:\ And keep the rest under 20 GIG I did the same here on my 40 GIG Make sure you divide the bytes properly with 0 bytes free. Other than that no clue, GL
