I need some advice, I want to upgrade but I dont know what to keep. I can get a better cpu, but I need to know what i can use my ddr with. Should I get A 850XTagp, and more ram or get a new am2 mobo and ddr2 ? Looks like I need to upgrade everything for Vista and I have to deal with DDR2 now.....

I play some online games like FEAR and after I exit the game, Vista is slow to respond and the desktop takes a bit to return, anyone else notice that?

rc2 is working great here too. I got AVG free to work by installing with XP compatibility mode

Oh no! Windows defender will be disabled? Say it ain't so..... Anyways I dont notice aero using up to much memory, I have allmost 700Mb free ram. Thats not bad

1 thing I noticed is that the mouse doesn't freeze. Adaware would lag my mouse during the first part of a scan, now on Vista it don't.

Ya it works real good, just the huge downloads, when they move from the temp file to the destination folder at completion.

I played the game on Vista RC2, it's a great game, lots of fun. Can I use it on my 98se ?

I also noticed my computer freezing up when I downloaded a 1.7g file. When it finished downloading, it copied to the destination folder and at the end, froze for a few minutes. Nothing would respond, then everything i clicked, just popped up and was ok.

Look, before anyone gets bent outta shape here, if somethings amiss, and you have your purchase order and have paid for your disk, then phoning MS and explaining your problem will almost allways have a positive result. I phoned once and the guy was real nice about it and a few swaps of information, it was fixed. There's no way they wont help you.

Vista RC1 and 2 work great. I am having issue's with older hardware and the issu is only when I try "other" versions of the same driver. As for the sidebar, it's gondi,same with a whole lot of crap you all should be looking at....

Oh no, hopefully you didn't install over it again. I would say you boot options in the bios, select drive 0 or ide 0, disable boot from cd.
