Because it isn't "my" topic? I opened a parenthesis in it (and duly closed it). OP has had the most he could get as an answer/solution. Only your problem with 98 is currenly "open". jaclaz Actually my problem is fixed now, no thanks to you. -

How can I get a PS/2 scrolling mouse to work in Windows 95?
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to ppgrainbow's topic in Windows 9x/ME
Lets go! First of all, this is a Win9X forum. Second, just cause I'm using Win98 doesn't mean the fix or solution is or is not the same. Third, just cause you have a 100,000 links bookmarked doesn't mean you should assume that one of your bookmarks is the solution to all problems. And why start a new topic, so you can just link this page to it, so you can have 100,001 bookmarks. Here's a task for you, create a website with all your links and see if it applies to everyone who has any version of windows. But then again it might. I don't know, if I did we wouldn't be having this discussion, but then again you don't have the solution either. -

Maybe the title should specifically say MSFN Forum> Microsoft Software Products> Windows 95> How can I get a PS/2 scrolling mouse to work in Windows 95? instead of MSFN Forum> Microsoft Software Products> Windows 95/98/98SE/ME> How can I get a PS/2 scrolling mouse to work in Windows 95? Maybe the title should specifically say Toshiba laptop model If you want to battle I'll bomb ya, I will attack like a pack of piranhas -
How can I get a PS/2 scrolling mouse to work in Windows 95?
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to ppgrainbow's topic in Windows 9x/ME
I'm having the same problem the only difference is I'm using Win98SE. Now this only happens when I use 98lite and strip out most components but it also does it with my USB mouse also. I'm thinking its maybe a file or registry key that causes this. -
Thank you I wish it was this simple for everybody, but its not. I don't have MS Office XP installed but if I can borrow a disk from a friend to test, I'll try my best to resolve your problem. Maybe someone on the forum using office can test it for you until I get around to it.

Unless you explain to me the exact error you got after installing, then I CAN'T help you. Just saying it messed up your system doesn't help any of us. That's because most of the updates are (OPTIONAL) except the main updates.

Xbox360 Controller Driver for Win98
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to StarRiver's topic in Windows 9x Member Projects
Make sure you have the latest Direct X 9. Make sure you have NUSB installed. Extract the file USBSTOR.SYS from http://www.mdgx.com/files/USB20DRV.EXE and place it in Windows\System32\Drivers folder. Change the usbstor.inf in the Windows\inf directory to read [uSBSTOR.AddReg] HKR,,DevLoader,,*NTKERN HKR,,NTMPDriver,,"wdmstub.sys,USBSTOR.SYS" ;HKR,,NTMPDriver,,USBSTOR.SYS instead of this [uSBSTOR.AddReg] HKR,,DevLoader,,*NTKERN ;HKR,,NTMPDriver,,"wdmstub.sys,USBSTOR.SYS" HKR,,NTMPDriver,,USBSTOR.SYS after that, go to safe mode delete all usb controllers. REBOOT Let all drivers redetect. Install the Xbox controller driver. Yeah it sucks to have to go through all of this but.............You should be golden afterwards -

Remove Internet Explorer but keep necessary files for
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to PROBLEMCHYLD's topic in Windows 9x/ME
After a clean install with 98lite ripping out Internet Explorer 5.01, I have found these files to have no registry keys. They are left on the system. Do I register them or leave them as is? I also noticed while testing IE 6 SP1 files, explorer does not keep its windows position. I have to keep maximizing whenever I open a folder. Remove Internet Explorer but keep necessary files for
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to PROBLEMCHYLD's topic in Windows 9x/ME
Thanks I got everything working. I'm going to release 2 version of the U98SESP3. One version with IE 5.5 SP2 core files and the other with IE6 SP1 core files. This pack, hopefully will help people. I don't like IE and 98lites does the job to get rid of it. People without 98lite can still benefit though. But the core versions is aimed @ the 98lite users. BTW, Internet Connection Sharing does work with IE 5.5 SP2 and Win98 is really fast. The installation would be so simple. 1. Install Win98 with 98lite 2. Install drivers 3. Install service pack 4. install desired software. -
You must use the Intel USB2 Enhanced Host Controller because they are newer than the ones from NUSB and the SP3. I have a NEC USB2 Enhanced Host Controller and it uses the Orangewire drivers version OUSBEHCI.SYS 2.1.9.0. So if your intel USB2 Enhanced Host Controller has it own USBEHCI.SYS then let it detect the intel version. USBEHCI.SYS 5.1.2600.1515 works fine on my computer but my NEC card doesn't use this file, it uses the one from Orangewire.

Remove Internet Explorer but keep necessary files for
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to PROBLEMCHYLD's topic in Windows 9x/ME
After doing some research, in my opinion I believe 98lite does a waaaaay better job than IEradicator. What I notice is IE 5.5 SP2 core files are faster than IE 6.0 SP1 core files. IE 6.0 SP1 core files has more functions than IE 5.5 SP2 core files. Internet Connection Sharing doesn't work with IE 5.5 SP2 files but it works with IE 6.0 SP1. Below are the latest versions of core file after using 98lite. Instead of installing any version IE after using 98lite one can just update their core files. This is for people who wil not use Internet Explorer at all. My question is do i register the files or just replace them.
