As I said before I'm using WinXP files, maybe you downloaded an older version. Any changes I make, I post them so everyone is aware. HYPERTRM.CHM XPSP3 HYPERTRM.DLL 5.1.2600.5512 XPSP3 HYPERTRM.EXE 5.1.2600.0 XPSP3 HYPERTRM.HLP XPSP3 The SP hasn't been beta for a long time. Since I deal with a lot of files, I decided to leave all text to read 3.0. Its time consuming because I have to change the text in every file to reflect an updated version. The Service Pack is close to being final.
-
I don't follow. The hypertrm.dll is from Winxp. I don't use kernelex. I only install it when testing the service pack.

You are definitely one of the key players in this endeavor, I couldn't have done it without you guys , especially you Drugwash. Thanks soooo muchhhhhhh

KernelEx Compatible Updates
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to Fredledingue's topic in Windows 9x Member Projects
MSXML3.DLL 8.100.1052.0 I already added it to the list. -
My goal was to try to keep it as small as possible. I know some people was confused about which version to install. So I tried to make it easier for everyone. Even the people who decide to translate, they would only have to translate one package. Also I'm working on the kernelex option. The IE files included doNOT affect system performance if people read the instructions. They are optional, so if you are not 98lite user, you can ignore those two options.
-
Yes both versions of IE is included. They are optional. Same rules apply as before.
-
Updated It varies from computer to computer, hardware to hardware, software to software. I would install it, test for a couple of days then go from there. Great solution Neither version works unless KernelEx is installed. I'll add it later when I add the KernelEx option. I have downgraded the version in the new release.
-
guys, I added the registry keys for the updated files in the SP. You can view all installed updates in Windows Update Information Tool. This only applies to main updates only. IE files or optional components canNOT be viewed through Windows Update Information Tool because I didn't add registry keys. I might add them later. I also removed the 3 updates by WMI/WBEM until I figure out how to get the whole package included in the SP. I will release a new update at the end of the week or sometime next week. I also would like you guys take on adding MDAC 2.8 SP1. Believe it or not we are a few packages away from a final build. Your support is needed. Thanks

Can someone be so kind to do this, if not point me to the tools so I can give it a shot?

I didn't take any offense. You are right though. I will add the rest of VC++ 2005 SP1. Everything listed above is (ALL) optional. They are there for completeness. Also remember before I took over the SP, Gape had his own options for things that might be needed for certain individuals. I just expanded those options. Files included in the Service Pack are Microsoft only. I agree the pack has gotten bigger, so has some of the updates thats inside too. I have to say this is probably the smallest most up to date service pack for Win98SE. With all options selected, the service pack installs in less than 5 minutes. Service Pack already includes a newer version MSDIA80.DLL 8.0.50727.4053 Try this link. Scroll to the bottom until you find the first edition http://www.mdgx.com/web.htm#SPX

Thanks to all you guys. Your kind words has humbled me deeply and lifted my spirit.

This is what changed my mind. Not everybody is selfish. Give all thanks to Dave-H.I will try my best to give you guys a final version but I can't do it by myself, and I'm not too proud to ask for help. This is the attitude we all need to have. I'm not looking for sympathy or praise. I'm looking for a solid foundation so we can all build on it. And that's what Gape left us. So lets get closer to the final build. This is my second home now that I finally have a new one for my family. Thanks to all.
