You may find rloew drivers to work. Check out his website. He has some specific drivers for lexar. http://rloew1.no-ip.com/

None taken But you also have to understand people who don't like 3rd party apps such as myself (I know I'm not alone on this one) having a newer version or unofficial version is a necessity for the ones who don't use 3rd party apps. Maybe not for you, but for others. The same goes for Remote Desktop. I have Windows XP Pro, so RDP is a necessity for me along with the other options I have added. Just some examples.

DVD plays in Media Player Classic in WinXP, but not in Win98SE
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to diamant's topic in Windows 9x/ME
Try to register only CLVSD.AX from powerDVD on Win98. Then give it a shot -
Have you ever noticed Microsoft doesn't include things like IE, MDAC, DOTNET, JET etc...... in their Service Pack. Some people need these updates and some don't. When you have multiple packs that pretty much does the same thing, its gonna cause some problems. Some people using old shell32.dll or old kernel32.dll files. Different version of files with unofficial packs could be the main cause of an unstable system. IMHO, I think we need one service pack, doesn't matter who creates it as long as its stable. Things like 98SE2ME requires you to have a WinME CD. Revolutions Pack, not everybody want their Windows skinned. (This option doesn't really update your system) it just makes it look good. So this is not a necessity. Everything added to the U98SESP3.EXE is needed someway form or fashion, whether its by you, me, or sombody else, and its all optional. And its only about 30 mb. I did a clean install with all options last night and everything installed in about 3 mins. 750 mhz cpu 512 mb 30 gb hd ati graphics card Maestro-3i sound card.

That's not the goal of the update. Some people use IE6, IE5, and some don't. (IE is not mandatory) The main objective of this SP3 is to have everything that is needed for future installations. Therefore, you only have to check what is needed and have a fully updated system. I'm working on a final build, but I need more feedback from others before I go any further. Anything that requires KernelEX will NOT be added. Things that won't be added Internet Explorer Visual Studio Visual C++ Visual Basic Microsoft Data Access Components Jet 4.0 .NET Framework VC_R_70.EXE VC_R_71.EXE VC_R_7X.EXE VC_R_9X.EXE VCREDI.EXE VCREDIST.EXE VS6SP6U.EXE Things that are left to add (some will make it, some won't) CMD.EXE DCM9XCFG.EXE DMA_ON.EXE DST_9XME.EXE HELPHLP.EXE IEXPRESS.EXE MAKECAB.EXE MAKECAB.OVL MSAGENT.EXE NUSB.EXE SCBASE.EXE SETUP_C2171F2DDB41E6F39078294DFEFC909933E4A23C.EXE TTFEXT.EXE USB20DRV.EXE WEXTRACT.EXE WIA11.EXE

So basically everything in my "unofficial" list except DXM9X.EXE is included in your pack? Yes
-
All are included except IE6 updates.
-
Does that include the ability to open at least the common graphic types (JPEG, GIF) in MS Paint? I think MDGx has that in his download: http://www.mdgx.com/files/GRPHFLTS.EXE YES

You have a point. Either way I need it converted to inf format. P.S Does SP3 installs to any directory, I only use the default?

I would like to and I will under one condition. It be combined with USB 2.0 Stack for Win98/ME. There is some conflict between the two. I don't have the exact specifics. I would really like an fully updated service pack. In the mean time I will be adding this version from 2010 http://www.mdgx.com/files/DST_9XME.EXE I also will be adding the XBOX360 controller drivers in the serivce pack. As I said before everything is optional. With you guys help I can get things done a lot sooner. If only a few willing to test, then the process only takes longer. The more the faster. Also I need someone to help me convert this reg file to inf format. I posted in another topic but no replies. REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor] "AutoRun"="set comspec=c:\\windows\\command\\cmd.exe" "PathCompletionChar"=0x00000009 "CompletionChar"=0x00000009 ;

Thanks for testing. I am really close to a final build, with all official and unofficial updates. Almost all of MDGx unofficial updates are in this package.

Inf files + Batch files
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to PROBLEMCHYLD's topic in Programming (C++, Delphi, VB/VBS, CMD/batch, etc.)
You can mark this as solved. What I had to do to get it working was to shorten the names example: CopyFiles=Copy.Boot,Copy.Cab,Copy.Command,Copy.EBD,Copy.GFWin,Copy.GFOffice CopyFiles=CBT,CCB,CMD,CEB,CGF,CGR,CHL,CHT,CMP,CTS,CIN,CIO,CMA,CME,CDA,CMU,CWS,C32,CSB,CTC,CTR,CTV,CVM,891711,918547 Everything installs fine. Thanks -
Whether its official or unofficial updates, either can mess up your system. M$ has not created a perfect system as of yet, and probably won't. I did update Gapes service pack with a lot of newer files. Everything that I have added is optional. I know what its like to try to install something and getting something extra, something you didn't ask for and not having the option to install it or not. I have invested a lot of time updating Gapes SP, because after a clean installation of Windows, I would like to add the SP and be up to date. I prefer not to have to install a few hundred updates after a clean install. So you can either use older versions which works great or you can try an updated version which I think will work as well.

quite a few!

Unless you want to install lots of updates, your best bet is to download a unofficial service pack that fits you.

Which one did you try?
