  1. It also says you need Microsoft Windows 98 Driver Development Kit (DDK) and NSIS (Nullsoft Scriptable Install System).Like I said, these are tools one must learn, to do things correctly or it might cause problems with the system.
  2. It seems somewhat of a headache to compile. For starters, if you don't have or use the tools thats needed, then one must learn them all. This can be time consuming. I guess we will have to wait for someone to compile it.
  3. Its great that users has particular hardware and software to test the flaws in SP. The Service Pack can and will improve from this point with the help of you testers. Thanks and enjoy 3.17
  4. Thanks rloew and LoneCrusader. Since I don't have any of rloew patches ATM, there is no way I can come up with a workaround. Users that have his patches, will have to comeup with their own solution/workaround. Sorry guys. rloew is probably the best solution since he has the patches and able to test the SP. New update just released
  5. This is not a BUG, you can ignore this. There is no need, these files DoNOT conflict with rloew patches. The only thing need from this pack is the updated defrag and scandisk. All other files are already included.
  6. The bug was located and then terminated Thanks, its people like you that helps me improve the SP. New update later tonight or early tomorrow.
  7. I just reproduce it. I will fix it asap. Thanks for testing.Edit: typos
  8. What is the actual problem you are having? All of my USB devices work.
  9. Can someone add Second Edition to the start banner. This is the original Win98 version. I just trying to get it original as possible. Many users will like this. I still would like my own customize start banner, but thats a different story.
  10. I was waiting on a response from the_guy, but he hasn't been on here in a few months. It is pretty easy now to update Windows Millennium Edition SP since most of the options from Windows 98 Second Edition SP are compatible with WinME. I was also waiting on Win98 to reach greater stability, so the bugs from one SP don't get transferred to the other. Here is what I can do, I can create a Windows Millennium Edition SP 3 beta version with all options available except Main Updates. This will take some finesse for Main Updates. While users are working with optional components, I could be working on other things. There is a lot of changes to be made to main updates, bmp, patches, testing etc.... This is just an hypothetical scenario
  11. Make sure you have a PS/2 mouse or Keyboard. Install USBSTACK.EXE, REBOOT into SAFE MODE. Remove all USB related devices in Device Manager. REBOOT. Let every device redetect on start up. Thats it. Enjoy!
  12. You guys may already be aware that Universal Plug n Play (UPNP) also installs WinXP Internet Connection Sharing (ICS). I will be splitting the option in two. The reason being, users who have routers don't need ICS. It only added about 5 seconds to installation time when all options are checked, not a big deal. Hopefully I will have an update by the weekend.
  13. No I haven't, but it looks like some else has.

  15. Oh, its there I'm using a modified version on Win98 from Windows XP SP3 and so far its working and it satisfies that function you need I'm in the middle of testing for breakage. I'm sure if it works on Win98, then Win2000 shouldn't have any problems.
  16. When I tried running Avidemux 2.5.3 with MSVCRT.DLL 6.10.9848.0, I got the missing export _fstat64 blah blah _fstat64 may reside in the other DLLs but when it is called from a specific DLL such as MSVCRT.DLL 7.0.2600.5512 then the other files doesn't matter. Not only that, MSVCRT.DLL 7.0.2600.5512 is an upgrade with an additional 51 exported functions. I sure some of the newer apps calls for some of these functions that are not present in older verions. @ loblo, I admire you for taking the time to patch files (not this one of course but other files). MSVCRT.DLL 7.0.2600.5512 is a permanent solution, not a work around. The Windows XP SP3 version works with no problems. I'll test for a couple more days and go from there.
  17. Are you using Kext: DIY KernelEx extensions? BTW, the Windows XP SP3 version has 51 more exported functions than the older version.
  18. As you can see, I have it working with a modified MSVCRT.DLL 7.0.2600.5512 from Windows XP SP3. Thanks to a very good friend of mine for sending me the patched file. I'm testing it as we speak. It will be in the next version SP3.17
  19. HDCopy 2.104 should work just fine.
  20. It seems like the 81 files from Win XP SP3 works well and are newer than MDAC 2.82 far as the date I have been running them on my hybrid machine and they seem to be working well so far
  21. I am up for the challenge far as testing.
  22. Install Main Updates from SP3.
  23. Yes, it official
  24. Which is the reason I'm asking. I don't like things forcefully installed on my system either. All the software I use is broken down to necessities. I hate bloatware. Thats why more than 90% of SP is optional. Updating is on its last leg for the moment. When I release updates normally, I usually have more than two changes. This is a good thing. If KernelEx gets updates then I will update SP accordingly. Thanks for your feedback. I'll leave them optional.
