Anyone know how to create chm files?
-
Thats what I was thinking. No one wants to pay for the extra hardware, but they sure want it free. I have yet to see any computer at a retailer that gives you 2 graphic cards even though one is a onboard. If I can't get rid of it, I will run 2000 Server on it instead of my laptop. I have been collecting laptops so i can run Win98 as long as possible. BTW, I was only asking $250. People think because its not new its no good. My older laptops out last most of these new ones.

KernelEx Compatible Updates
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to Fredledingue's topic in Windows 9x Member Projects
These files work. I tried to get them to run without KernelEx, but I was unsuccessful MSXML4.DLL 4.30.2117.0 MSXML 4.0 SP3 MSXML4R.DLL 4.30.2100.0 MSXML 4.0 SP3 MSXML6.DLL 6.20.2502.0 MSXML 6.0 SP2 MSXML6R.DLL 6.0.3883.0 MSXML 6.0 SP2 -
The additional parts is worth more than that. I can get a hundred bucks without the additional hardware. I have sold many computers but not an updated to the max like this one.

The computer has been sitting for 2 years. It was used in a company for about 4 years. Not much wear and tear. I mainly use my laptops and thought I should get rid of it. These are the original specs HP M7160N I have also upgraded some of the hardware specs. I am NOT trying to sell it on MSFN. Only asking what should I get for it. Someone offered me $125. This is why I still have it lol. The additional hardware is brand new. Additional Hardware: Rosewill RCR-IC002 74-in-1 USB 2.0 Internal Card Reader Cooler Master Elite 341 Computer Case (Black) 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM (Crucial Ram) 3.5" Floppy Drive 2 LG Super-Multi 22x DVD±RW DL IDE ATI Radeon 9250 (256 MB) Realtek 10/100/1000 (NIC)

98 FE + 98 SE + ME updates + patches + (hot)fixes
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to MDGx's topic in Pinned Topics regarding 9x/ME
I followed your instructions, and they didn't work for me. Has anyone got Image Preview working? I was hoping to get it working without 98SE2ME, but that didn't happen. I even tried the Windows 2000 version SHIMGVW.DLL 5.0.2134.1 which has more resolved dependencies, but its the same output no matter which file. None of them work for me. -
I will give it a shot. Thanks

I have a problem when PM members. When I use my droid its not possible. Can this be fixed?

It seems that users prefer to use Oppcom over 98lite. It was highly recommended over 98lite. I could actually use them both to test. Another thing 98 lite isn't free and Oppcom is.
-
I have Good news and some Great news Good News: I will use # 23H for the new update default start banner. This means when users select the Windows ME/2000 theme, it will be your default banner. Great News: Users who follow instructions will be presented with the option to (use) any banner they prefer. First instruction is to download the banner you prefer to use and wait for further instructions.

Oppcom 2.1 and IEradicator will add extra stability and performance. They are not required.

Of course Remote Desktop works. Both version, Lan and Internet. I use it when its needed. The WEB connection version will NOT install on Win98. You will have to use the SP for this, or strip the package apart and tweak the inf file. If they didn't work, they wouldn't be included in the SP, You don't need the SP for the files, you can download them yourself, free of charge from the Microsoft website. I can't speak about other 3rd party Remote Desktop apps because I don't use them. Thanks LoneCrusader, this guy was on his way..................
-
Thats because you lack comprehension This is what Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection does. If you don't have WinXP Pro, then you will have to use a 3rd party app. You also have to configure your WinXP machine and open the necessary port. So unless you are able to comprehend what we are posting, then this topic is pointless
-
SP3 also install Remote Desktop Web Connection. This is the same as the LAN version but you can do it over the internet. You must have WinXP Pro. SP installs both version. See Remote Desktop Connection (Terminal Services Client 5.2) option.

I was able to fix the error by disabling System Restore. There was no error message on BOOT Every single option installed without error. I also have a BETA 2 ready and will upload it later. Its minor changes, but testers should download it anyway. I will be testing this package in the future with and without IEradicator and Oppcom 2.1. I think Oppcom is a better soultion than 98lite for WinME.

Where did #26 come from. That one is nice too.
-
Send me a test package. LOL, Thanks

Sure, since Drugwash already has the post with all of the banners, send him a link to yours so he can add it and have them all in one place. Thanks

Sudden shutdown when playing video or Youtube
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to Sp0iLedBrAt's topic in Windows 7
I had a friend who had the same model and the problem was overheating. I believe the fan is on the bottom, so if it doesn't get any circulation, it will shutdown. I used some boards to prop it up while I was fixing it. He still has it and haven't had any problems since. I thought it was the memory, we ended up buying replacements to find out that wasn't the problem. I still have the ram also, brand new, still in the package. Hope this is the case for you. -
This is my favorite variation of the Start banner. uSP 1.5 and some newer versions have this in them. This one can be voted on as well B) It doesn't matter to me which one is added B) The reason it was removed, because some people wanted everything to look original. Remember the icons situation.
-
We all know I like to explorer. Just because something is handed to me and others like it, doesn't mean I'm suppose to be content with it, I'm sure others feel the same way. I want a banner with PROBLEMCHYLD, but I haven't figured out what colors or font style yet. Besides, I will like to get the SP users out the way first. Nice to hear from you too Dave-H Since Microsoft was too lazy to add Second Edition, we seem to be the ones picking up their slack If you notice, you can see Gapes version is base off of WinME and 2000 instead of the original Win98 version. He still did a great job.
-
Thats possible but a lot of work. For starters, we will need a sub menu with all of the banners listed and viewable so users know which one they are picking. Hell, this is better than what Microsoft has given us. So far the voters like 14 because its simple, clean, and it go well with the Win ME icons. It really does look original and authentic, I might even use it. I will be changing my banner every week. LOL, just kidding but I might once a month

I like 21F. The darker reddish (maroon/burgundy) is wonderful.

The options that are disabled needs to be updated. There are hundreds of files I need to get. I had asked for a list some time ago and never got it. This will take some time because its not a high priority. I also need someone to gather all of the changes throughout the post so I can create an updated changelog. In the meantime, just work with options that are NOT disabled.
-
I guess we can ignore the message I was getting. Even using some of MDGx Unofficial Updates, I get the same message. The files seems to have updated though. Here is a BETA 3.0. It is based off the Unofficial Windows 98 Second Edition Service Pack 3.x. Notes: To benefit using the IE 5.5 SP2 Core Files, you must remove Internet Explorer using IEradicator. Only do this if you plan to use another browser such as, Opera, Firefox etc..... You guys can use the package as a testing point for me to go further with updates. A clean install is not necessary ATM. Lots of testing is needed. I don't think you guys will have any major problems because all of the options are compatible. Some options are disabled due to files not being ready. Changes - Disabled Main Updates Disabled Microsoft Management Console 1.2.0 Disabled Logos Removed 2_4DATE.EXE Removed PATCHES.BAT Removed Resource Hacker 3.6.0.92 Removed TOUCH.EXE 5.0.1754.1 Removed Microsoft Agent Server 2.0 (already included in Windows Millennium Edition) Removed Microsoft Internet Printing Protocol Client 1.0 (already included in Windows Millennium Edition) Removed Universal Plug and Play (already included in Windows Millennium Edition) Removed Windows Management Instrumentation (already included in Windows Millennium Edition) Removed Windows Millennium Edition/Windows 2000 Theme (already included in Windows Millennium Edition) Removed Zip Folders (already included in Windows Millennium Edition) Unofficial Windows Millennium Edition Service Pack 3.0 Beta 1 You must add .EXE to the file when saving.
