Hey mods, if you have some free time, some users need help searching for posts where I disrespected or bad mouth KEX. They are having a little trouble because such posts don't exist. We all know that every Unofficial pack has flaws even SP3, but I'll be **** if any users say SP is the cause for their pack not working correctly. I have been working on SP almost 2 years, and yes it has had it s share of bugs and all known bugs has been fixed, thanks to you guys. The truth will hurt and destroy a man's pride.

Once again, you won't leave well enough alone. I have a MAIN F***ING SYSTEM that pay my bills, that takes care of my daughter and family. I am not going to jeopardize it because you think KernelEX is flawless. You claim to have the same software which you don't, the same operating system which you don't, but you have yet to prove anything. I gave you the software to reproduce the bugs. But since you don't have the software or want the same software I use, you won't reproduce the bugs because you don't want to. I posted 5 software versions, you only posted 1 and the one you posted is not even the same version as mine. How stupid of you. So we are not in the same boat. I have never said KEX was BAD, you can't find one post that says, I ever said anything BAD about KernelEx. I never told users it was buggy, it causes system crashes etc..... I said it BROKE my PAID software. When will you learn that KEX is not everything, and I have test ed KEX on other systems, just not MY MAIN one. And for the record, anyone will tell you its best to test on a clean install, because its easier to narrow down bugs. I don't have countless of hours to burn because I make money. What about you? You must be broke and bitter. I can see it. Once again, another victim I have slayed You want me to go the extra mile and put in the time, but you are not willing to do the same.

Thanks you peacemaker. This all started with me and LoneCrusader about NT files being included in the SP. Then Leyok took LC side and said he feel the same say and thats fine. Then loblo starting asking what problems I have, and I told him, I don't have any problems because I don't use it. You have members who will PM or whatever. Am I suppose to post our PM because someone doesn't believe. This was funny though. I kept it together this time. I told loblo I haven't used it since way before Xeno left. I guess I was suppose to document this bug. Who's to say I didn't share my software with Xeno so he can try and reproduce the bug. I'm not saying I did, I'm just saying. Everything that goes on behind close doors is not for everyone eyes and ears. I'm not even sure what year, but like I said, if I come across it again I'll post it.

What case? Enough of that insanity for me anyway. The case you haven't prove otherwise You are a Win ME user. You are not going to reproduce the same bugs as Win98 users. With 98lite, 98SE2ME SP3 and all the software I have on my system installed etc.... I said KEX breaks my software not my operating system. Get in tune. I will say it again, I will not install it on my main system. You are not going to take the time to fix the damages on my system. Like I said, if it ever becomes stable, I might give it a test run on my main system. until then I rest my case because you haven't proved otherwise, that KEX runs with ALL of the apps I posted. I had nothing else better to do, other than picked some random software I used and said KEX was the problem. You really are naive. If thats the case then, I need a life. And back then there wasn't a SP with NT files so that is not the case. Thank you very much (Elvis) voice.
-
You are exactly right, because you have all of those apps installed on your computer, plus the same codecs and plugin. You even got 98lite too right. How would you know if you use Windows ME. You have just made my day. Thank you I rest my case.

SP3.X works better without KEX
-
It means on a clean install, something most people don't do. It means only stock apps, because everyone doesn't use the same software regardless if it made by the same company. I gave you a list of software you can test, its up to you where is goes from this point on. You telling me I can't prove something, but you have yet to prove me wrong. SMDH

Last KernelEx update is 1 year and 4 months ago and yet, despite you never installed it (as far as I understand) you regularly claim it breaks vanilla stuff you have on your machine... I don't think insulting everybody trying to get something across to you qualifies as golden words... I see also you can't comprehend. I STOP USING KERENELEX WAY BEFORE XENO STOP DEVELOPMENT. I DIDN'T SAY A COUPLE, I SAID SEVERAL, MEANING MANY YEARS AGO. THIS IS WHY I AM NOT ACTIVE IN THE KEX FORUMS. BECAUSE I DON'T USE IT. CAN YOU GUYS COMPREHEND THAT. I DON'T USE IT. I WILL TEST IT, BUT I DON'T USE IT DAILY OR WEEKLY OR EVEN YEARLY. I ONLY TEST IT. I HAVE GIVEN XENO MANY COMPLEMENTS. PM HIM AND ASK HIM HAS WE EVER HAD A PROBLEM, HE WILL TELL YOU NO.
-
What part of I have tested KernelEX with SP didn't you understand. I have tested it with older version too. I'm not the ones who complaining. I DON'T use KEX. I TEST it with THE SP. I don't care if a bug every get fixed or not because it will never touch my main system. TA TA.

I used to have Magix Audio Cleaning Lab Deluxe installed and had no problem with it and KernelEx. I've got some install disks for some Magix music software such Techno Ejay or crap like that, I can give them a shot if need be for the sake of testing even though they are a waste of disk space. Do you think you are the only one who has or uses such or such piece of commercial software or what? Btw I googled Magix along with KernelEx and came up with no one complaining about a problem. I see you looking for trouble. Listen to what I said, I'm aware I'm not the only that has the software. I have Magix Music Studio V2000, MTV Music Generator 1, Magix Paino and Keyboard workshop 2nd Edition, Magix Hip Hop Maker, Audio Cleaning Lab 3.0. Should I list my whole paid software catalog. I also have plugins and certain codecs etc.... I have no reason to lie. I'm not going through every single option or combination to reproduce some bugs I reported several years ago. What you can do is download or buy all the software I listed since you don't believe it exist because Kernel is Perfect. Better yet find someone with my exact same setup and then prove me right. If I come across it in the future again, I will be more than happy to report it. You can't call my bluff, cause I don't play. Everything I have ever posted is accurate. My word is golden, what about yours?
-
Do you have any Magix music software. My point exactly. Trust me, I am NOT the only who has had problems with KEX. And its not just the software I use. And if I was so against, then why did I say I would add a KEX extentsion to SP. If you that naive to think I'm the only with a problem with KEX, then you just as................. I reported my problems years ago. Thats why you don't see me in the KEX. The problem never got fixed. I haven't used it since then. This is probably why Xeno left, because of people like you in the KEX forum . I didn't or don't hang out there, so I know I'm not the cause.
-
Once again another cheerleader. You said I out your own mouth, that I never posted a bug report, thats because I don't use it. I never said KEX was unstable, I said it was causing my system to have problems. I can't speak for others systems. I use PRODUCTION software. If you don't have the paid software I use, you will not reproduce the bug. And just cause I haven't posted in the KEX, forums doesn't I didn't report my findings to Xeno personally. You can get in tune as well.
-
I don't care who you agree with. THE SP DOES NOT RELY ON KEX. THERE ARE NO FILES IN THE SP THAT REQUIRES KEX to be installed. Ask Xeno, I'm am not the reason he left. THE f***ING PACK IS UNOFFICIAL. THERE IS NO RULE THAT SAYS I HAVE TO USE ONLY WIN98 FILES. WE HAVE BEEN MIXING FILES WHEN YOU WAS STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL. YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE THE PACK IF YOU DON'T WANT NT FILES ON YOUR SYSTEM. SO YOU AND LONECRUSADER CAN DO EACH OTHER SINCE YOU LIKE IT SO MUCH. I ONLY STARTING TESTING KEX WHEN I STARTED WORKING ON THE SP TO MAKE SURE ITS COMPATIBLE. MOST PEOPLE ONLY CARE ABOUT RUNNING THE LATEST BROWSER. UP UNTIL NOW, I DIDN'T USE IT OR DON'T. I ONLY TEST TO MAKE SURE SP DOESN'T CONFLICT. GET IN TUNE.
-
Dude, you really have a disability or learning comprehension. You have original Win98 files that don't always work, so we hack, patched, tweak or whatever you want to call it. Get your head out your a** man. I'll give it a couple more weeks and when we are at a few thousand downloads, we'll see how many users report system crashes or hardware issues due to SP or the NT files inside it. Remember everyone will be using different hardware and software. So we will see what SP can really do.
-
Once again, you are looking to start a fight that you know you can't win. Contradicting yourself make you look even more.....................................
-
Wrong, look what MDGx did with WMP 10 from WinXP. Some files are compatible and some are NOT. What is it you didn''t grasp. The files inside SP are compatible and the ones that are not, are not included. So think before you open your trap. This is why SP is built with NT files that DO NOT rely on KernelEx. Now don't you look and feel stupid as usual?
-
The latest browsers wasn't designed for Win98, but I don't here you lecturing the Opera and Firefox users. This is why we don't see eye to eye. You always complaining about the NT files etc... They work on my system and hundreds maybe even thousands of others. Just cause you want to live in the 98 days, doesn't mean others do. Get in tune dude. The pack is UNOFFICIAL AND FREE. WTF is you crying about. You DON'T have to use it. Us geeks are not living by the Microsoft standards. Now spin the @#$% off, before I run you over.

I need to point out something here. I'm not trying to start or restart an argument, and not trying to offend anyone, so please don't take this wrong. Just something to think about. Myself and others have pointed out before that there is a possibility that the various added files in the SP that come from later versions of Windows may not work well under 98SE under all conditions. There may be various hidden bugs and/or other dependencies or "inter"dependencies on components of those later systems that are not present or behave differently under 98SE. Mixing these later versions of files into 98SE, while at the same time running an "overlay" that is supposed to emulate those later versions of Windows may simply be causing these hidden issues to surface, when they might not surface otherwise. The 9x and NT codebases are significantly different. Files not written specifically for 98SE may exhibit strange behavior under certain conditions. I'm NOT trying to say "DONT' USE THOSE FILES," we should be thankful for any later file that can be used in the right situation under 9x. However, one must keep in mind that they were not designed or tested for use under 9x. Its not about a file being new. Its about the file being compatible and working properly. Its about using the newer functions that are not implemented in the original 98 files. We haven't had any issues with SP since I fixed the USB bug. So, with that said, its not the files in the SP thats causing problems. I have had users test on hardware that I don't have. And for the record, no one is reporting system crashes with SP3.19, they are reporting crashes after installing KernelEX. Like I said a while back, even the old version of KEX breaks some of my paid software. The 600+ users that downloaded the SP last week is not having issues due to newer files. So please STOP stressing the isssue about Newer files, because if they didn't work, they wouldn't be in there. Remember the keyword, UNOFFICIAL. Since I have worked on the SP, speed and stability was my goal. SP3.19 offers that and some. Don't knock it, til you try it. Nobody has reported their paid or free software broken due to SP, no one has reported system slow downs due to SP. If people don't want their System enhanced, then they don't have to use it. It is not forced on anyone. 3.19 is as solid as a brick wall, if you don't believe me, ask the 600+ users and they will tell you the same.P.S. The SP uses original Microsoft files, some are patched and most are not. There are no bogus stubs or files with partial implementations. We all know what happens when you mix too many unofficial packages, especially when some contains bugs. My system is super fast and super stable without KernelEx. So if push come to shove, I'll past on it like I have over the years.

Thanks loblo yes it does work in compatible mode. You have help solve part of the issue. Screenshot 1 is with KernelEx installed and Screenshot 2 is without KernelEx installed. If I place the PDH.DLL from SP3.CAB file in the Windows\System directory without KEX, I do NOT get a PDH.DLL error. I get a PSAPI.DLL error. So I'm not sure the errors Drugwash is getting. So yes I can confirm the Windows version PDH.DLL does NOT cause problems and it does work. Like I said, this wasn't the only app, there are others. Screenshot 3 is the error I get when PDH.DLL is installed without KernelEx. This means I can't use certain apps because KEX forces Windows to use it build even though it don't work. I guess as long as we are running the latest browsers, then any other issues that arises doesn't matter. This is why I'm not a KEX power user and probably will never be..I though I could expand the SP with KernelEx but that is clearly not going to happen. I got it. Thanks guys
-
My point exactly. It doesn't work at all. I know the app has missing exports, as I posted above, the thing is KernelEx forces Windows to use its version and it don't work. At least the one in the SP does work and it does load properly, maybe not for that particular app because of missing functions. There was other apps I tested that required PDH.DLL, thats why I added it. This is why I asked you to compile a version without the particular files. The ones in the Windows\System directory works just fine. Just because a dummy file was created and has stubs and implementations, doesn't mean its suitable, especially if they don't work.So you pretty much just confirm the KEX version doesn't load/work or whatever label you put on it. Also the PdhLookupPerfNameByIndexA and PdhOpenQueryA, I never got this message, I always got a PSAPI.DLL missing export message

http://www.zabbix.com/downloads/1.4.4/zabbix_agents_1.4.4.windows.i386.tar.gzIf you have the original versions in the system directory, delete PDH.DLL and PSAPI.DLL. Install KernelEx and try run zabbix_agentd.exe. After you done that, uninstall KernelEx and place PDH.DLL and PSAPI.DLL in system directory from SP3.CAB and you'll see the difference in errors. I haven't really found one for MSIMG32.DLL, but I would assume it has the same issues as the other files.
-
@ Drugwash and coolman Can one of you guys compile the latest repository. Wait, here is the catch. It needs to be compiled without PDH.DLL, MSIMG32.DLL, PSAPI.DLL. For starters, the SP has all of these files inside the SP3.CAB and they are the original Microsoft versions. Even if users don't use SP3.x, they can still copy the files to their system. PDH.DLL in KernelEX does NOT work at all. I tested a program a while back that required the PDH.DLL file. I got an error, this file is not compatible with your operating system, wrong version blah blah something. So I found a working version that gave a different message, The PDH.DLL is linked to missing export blah blah. What I'm saying is that the KernelEx versions of the files, regardless if some are stubs and some are full implementations. They are not equivalent to the originals included in SP. Many users have been reporting system crashes with SP3.19 and kernelEx. We all know that SP is pretty stable but KernelEx is not playing well with it.

I tested the latest version and here are my results. 1. If you copy a file to the desktop, it DoNOT show up on the desktop, unless you right click the desktop and hit refresh. 2. If you log off and then log on without re-starting, you will NOT get the system tray icons. They DoNOT reappear. 3. NETAPI32.DLL display : link to missing export NetUserGetInfo error. All other bugs I have reported seems to be fixed. Good work.......
