  1. I'm close to getting the Intel PRO Wireless 2200BG working. I have used the same approach as I did with the BROADCOM drivers. I have a problem with NDIS.VXD. The image should give you more to go on. Just for the record, I have yet to find any official drivers for win98. I had to combine 3 intel driver packages just to get where I'm at.
  2. Here is the actual wayback machine link to WSC Guard 4.0. https://web.archive.org/web/20050902090217/http://www.wirelesssecuritycorp.com/wsc/public/WPAAssistant.do
  3. Did you mean wireless drivers or the wpa application?
  4. Set it at AES encryption only and see if that works for you.
  5. WSC Guard isn't missing anything. All you need to do is install your wireless driver and then install WSC Guard. The rest is self explanatory. You only get the unsecured display because you are not connecting to their server (WSC Guard) which is no longer available.
  6. I stand corrected on BCMWL5.SYS 3.9x versions. I now have BCMWL5.SYS 3.104.64.52. Thank you very much
  7. I use AES encryption, and besides the 3 files and WSC Guard, I have nothing special going on. BCMWL5.SYS 3.94.41.2 BCMWL5.INF BCM43XX.CAT Do you think you can borrow a laptop from a friend/family just to flash the card? What kind of laptop do you have and do you have a mini-pci slot in it? I also might be able to get Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG working.
  8. I have found BCMWL5.SYS 3.94.41.2 http://www.wireless-driver.com/buffalo-wli-cb-g54-g54l-wireless-driver-utility/
  9. This function is located in Windows ME/ WinXP SETUPAPI.DLL.
  10. It does NOT support WPA2. My router is set to WPA and WPA2, I set it to WPA2 only and it didn't detect my network. I wonder if a patch or plug-in can be created to add WPA2 support. One can always run it in both modes and use a secure firewall with bullet proof settings.
  11. It doesn't matter since we are using an updated version. The catalog file is just to prevent errors during install. Its really not needed. Did you get it working?
  12. Thanks to you I have found a new version of BCMWL5.SYS 3.94.41.1, you betta get it before it disappear. https://web.archive.org/web/20060104053052/http://www.buffalotech.com/downloads/CBG54_3.104.64.50.zip
  13. My version is BCMWL5.SYS 3.90.38.0, the link to your version is BCMWL5.SYS 3.90.7.0. Mine also has newer timestamp 02/14/2005, yours has 10/14/2004. I haven't found anything newer than mine (not saying they don't exist, just have not found them yet). What I meant was, use version 4.0 of the WSC Guard instead of the Mcafee 4.1 version. I had problems but others might not,YMMV. I also meant BCMWL5.SYS 3.9x was the only ones I could get to work. Anthing over version 3.9x of BCMWL5.SYS was missing dependencies. In other words, versions BCMWL5.SYS 3.100.x and higher did not work.
  14. I finally got WSC Guard working on my Dell Latitude C610 with Dell Wireless 1370 WLAN Mini-PCI Card. The app actually works, I can finally surf the net without having to login to WinXP on Dual-boot. It also detect my UPNP router along with ICS. I have 2 Dell Wireless 1370 WLAN Mini-PCI + 1 Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-PCI and 1 Dell Wireless 1450 WLAN Mini-PCI. They are all Broadcom wireless cards using BCMWL5.SYS 3.90.38.0 which is the last version to work on Windows 98. I have tried all of the newer ones I was able to locate. Anything over 3.9x will not work. I'm collecting them since the intel drivers didn't work. I replaced them all. The Mcafee version gave me nothing but problems. Users should use version 4.0, the one before Mcafee branding. Enjoy
  15. I was trying to help you but............... since skype isn't working for you, maybe you should try an alternative.
  16. SP3.x is not needed to run skype nor is kex. Here is proof the sound is working in skype, I did this just for you Nomen You're welcome!!!!!
  17. you got it, that's it that all.
  18. I don't need to try it, it works for her. I don't use Skype, Cloud, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, MySpace etc...
  19. Thanks, the ol' lady uses it to talk to her brother in Germany. Thank you very much for the contribution. Hope to see a new version in the future if possible.
  20. Its works on my system, thought I'd test it for you. I don't use it so, I don't know what to tell you. Hope you get it working.
  21. Hey, jumper you are awesome. Thank you for being cordial in the situation instead of having a one track mind. I hope you guys come up with a master plan and exceed in this endeavor. Wish you the best. Keep up the good work.
  22. To learn new and different things. To gain more experience in different fields. It might sound crazy but I'm going to purchase a Mac to learn how to navigate. More family and friends are getting them. I also don't want to be limited to what I learn. And only working with Windows has hindered me from progressing. What is your goal here?
  23. A dot, decimal, period or whatever tag you give it makes a difference in higher or lower versions. It's how one is able to distinguish. Your version has two decimal while 2000 has three. Also you can check the pe timestamp. Atl.dll is needed to Microsoft Management Console.
  24. Ok, here we go! 1. Download Microsoft Security Essentials 4.6.305.0 2. Download Microsoft Security Essentials 4.4.304.0 3. Download Universal Extractor or whatever tool you like that extracts 4. Extract both packages 5. Take SETUP.EXE 4.4.304.0 and replace it, in the directory of 4.6.305.0 MSEINSTALL\x86 overriding the newer SETUP.EXE 4.6.305.0 6. Delete 4.4.304.0 folder 7. Run SETUP.EXE 4.4.304.0 and install Microsoft Security Essentials 4.6.305.0 Thats it, thats all!
  25. @ erpdude8 If you register HNETWIZ.DLL from Internet Connection Sharing aka ICS from (WinXP) you'll get this
