  1. NOTE: & #34; don't remove that. Replace with a quote ( " )
  2. I'll post the MD5 sum when it's done....it was going down at 1mb a sec, but then i guess people got ahold of the link, and fast. it's now 123 kb/s I believe teh RTM strings are still there. But I won't have a chance to isntall for a few more hours (don't wanna make the IT guys mad here ) But 2003 still has RTM in it's build string i believe. What's a good CRC checker? lol.
  3. GM doesn't like me anymore
  4. BAH! and I was just at those pages too.....
  5. It could be because you've done other modifying of the source. Such as adding hotfixes or something. Also, why do people feel the need to post a method and a "guide" for a method that has worked since Win2k SP1? By all means, keep sharing, but the process just doesn't change. I mean, if you want it even easier, open up nLite, tell it the XP source, tell it the service pack file you download, and it does it all for you. THen you make the ISO, and burn it.
  6. It's quicktime's temp directory folder. Sometimes it gets deleted, sometimes it doesn't. meh. The installer routine isn't always perfect
  7. did you install Apple Quicktime?
  8. modpe it to correct any checksum error..... modifype tcpip.sys -c (modifype.exe obtained from unattended.msfn.org) then makecab the file makecab tcpip.sys then copy and replace the original
  9. they're recommended updates, and not really considered part of the OS.
  10. I was suitably inmpressed when I found I could play Doom 3 on my laptop. I've always had an ATI card in atleast 1 computer. If I do go for a nVidia chipset again, I won't buy a PNY. I had a 5200FX, and sure it did it's job but after 6 months the fan started dieing and it took awhile for a replacement (ended up buying a ATI 9800 because it took so long). As pointed out, ATI's are built by ATI. Which means of course ATI knows how to get the most out of their cards (unless they're low end, where they have a high end chip but hold it back, 9800se and pro for example) My advice is for a ATI X800. Don't worry about PCI Express yet. It's still alittle immature, and by the time you'll need it, you're card won't support the high quality graphics you want from the game you want it for

    New DirectX

Why does everyone assume people only use WinXP?? I use 2000 and 2003 myself. I have a XP system, but it's rarely used..... As for adding it, I believe GM will have to change his DX routine as the Redist isn't silentable (the SDK is i believe) but it uses /silent and not /Q:A /R:N Perhaps one will show up on the OEM site peopel coudl use.....
  12. And you posted this in the Unattended forums why? Also, why even do a search, there are numerous sites that have it front page that are just like MSFN.
  13. Anyone mind if I sticky this thread? I'm sure in the coming days when more and more people get SP2, there will be many requests for these files
  14. and by similar, he means of course the filenames are different and the PCI-PNP ID's are different surely while searching you would have come across this thread.... http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=22965 sure it's entitled [FAQ] nLite, but the very first entry is concerning this. Also this bug has been around for quite some time....and you have to realize, most people who do an unattended setup in a corporate environment don't sit at each computer with a floppy for the drivers.
  15. try blanking this line... Wallpaper=%systemroot%grass2.jpg
  16. 1. Sun Java VM is NOT included in any service packs. YOu can slipstream SP1a ontop of SP1, but i'd suggest rather over the RTM 2. Yes 3. XPCREATE will download the hotfixes, however if you wait a couple days, SP2 will be able to be downloaded form the Microsoft Servers
  17. you could have the wrong one.... 2158 is build time, not build number. What is the MD5 sum?
  18. technically, you could say you don't need ANY hacked files...but then again.... The List looks good for now...I'm sure there'll be more.
  19. but it could limit P2P programs that use one port for all connections.
  20. correct. By default the original file changes SFCDisable to 1 automatically. By using the modified file, the key is changed to SFCSetting and the program that does change the value changes the wrong key. SFCSetting is changed when you change it.
  21. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=8741
  22. if you use the modified SFC_OS.DLL that's either from nLite or RaveRod you simply change either SFCDisable/SFCSetting to 1 instead of FFFFFF9c or whatever it is.
  23. The engines should be included, however Java is not. And by Java i mean MSJave VM. They're only allowed to releases fixes, but can't distribute the program.
  24. Sorry fot the question but what is "SVPCACK.INF"? i haven't found any information on that. typo, meant SVCPACK.INF. Most people install their hotfixes from it.
  25. No it needs the INF. What chipset are you trying to use? Intel, there are INF's that go with it. Just search if so.
