  1. you failed to answer #2. What did you try to remove? The RollUp has known issues with removing components. You remove teh wrong one, and it shows up. My guess is teh same thing for the others. MBSA works because it scans file versions, and XPCreate replaces old file with the new ones. The updates probally cancel out as it's missing one of the components it was supposed to patch. Have you tried looking at their logs? They do tell what errors if any occured.
  2. @GrimSage the real question would be, which ones are missing? second, is it even remotely connected to a removed component? WU check for Registry entries mostly. MSBA check file versions and sizes.
  3. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...ndpost&p=103835 did you try <CRTL>-<F> ?
  4. NetMtg = Off MovieMk = Off http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...mponents++list#
  5. now, how hard is it to add a drive? All those water cables everywhere.....sheesh I want to see a picture of the thing with the lights off in the room, but the machine running with the side panel off. Now that should look prety spiffy.
  6. best Star Wars kid thing yet. I like it better then him fighting all those smiths.
  7. if possible, you'd have to hex quite a few files, and probally modify a digitally signed dll file, and then setup won't work or maybe, if you use the reduce source method, you could call the ~LS folder anything you wanted. The link is in the Threads of Interest
  8. @nuhi I doubt you'll get official support for it. You're not even supposed to have WinPE unless you bought like 3 copies of XP at a time, or had some special arrangement. WinPE is made by Microsoft, which would be why bart made is own
  9. if you do have a WindowsXP machine, you could try using bootcfg from it on your Win2k machine. Should still work.
  10. if you did it THROUGH win98, you have to select New Installation from the box that gives you the setup choices. Otherwise it will not format, or do anything with the partitions. As for unallocated space, if it is D:, then it's allocated. If you mean unused space, you'll have to resize the partition, but Windows XP setup can't do that. I personally don't have the Filesystem line in my setup. However, the only way that I know of with using a winnt.sif file, is to select Unalloated space. Not a partition, but unallocated space. Like Ryan said, to delete a partition, then create a new one and you'll get the dialog.
  11. hey babe. you look very delicious, wanna have sex with me? im fat and ugly! was that reallly neccarsy? I mean sure the girl in XtremeMac's signature looks quite good, you didn't have to go there.
  12. if the patch is truly just a MSP file inside the exe, then the procedure is almost identical to OfficeXP/2003. Just without the AdminPoint. I think so anyways (about the adminpoint).
  13. oh yeah..... people and there old ways of copying stuff from the CD..... I think i ahve ONE file that's $OEM$ folders that gets copied. The rest are either programs to be isntalled, or were one or two files that I just added to txtsetup.sif and had XP copy them over.
  14. SVCPACK.IN_ is just a compressed form of SVCPACK.INF If you look on a XP CD, you may find the same file. It should work the same. Be careful of the patches though. Like the Outlook Express and IE patches. They need IE6 installed (unless your patching IE5), which requires some RunOnceEX keys to be executed before you can apply the updates.
  15. now if only they included USB mouse support......(it's what I have) Good to hear you got it working ArmyDoc.
  16. DUDisable refers to the portion of setup that would have run if you installed through windows. There is a screen in there that asks if you want to download the latest blah blah blah. You could always see about Automatic Updates. Its installed by default. You just have to start it.
  17. my computer auto installs my monitor as a "Plug and Play". But I believe the reason the drivers don't install if because of Driver Signing. Most monitor drivers aren't signed. So when Windows looks for a driver, the "Plug and Play" one ends up with a higher score then the real driver, so it gets used.
  18. Ya know, it just dawned on me the title of the thread . And another reasons peopel really shouldn't ask for ways to add stuff like a FILESCD folder. Kinda defeats the nature of a removal tool, if you want it to add stuff too.
  19. did you reHEX setupldr.bin as well?
  20. the prompt is being causes by REGEDIT. Make sure you ahve the /S switch BEFORE the registry file.
  21. i would say use XPCreate first. One of teh hotfixes might add something back in, that you had already taken out.
  22. going alittle overboard aren't we? XPCreate I know does Hotfixes and RAID drivers. As for applications, I believe nuhi said he was implementing a FILESCD type thing like XPCreate. But WMP9 and MM2? What about DX9? I bet you could wait the 1.5 months till SP2 comes out. It's supposed to ship with those.....
  23. go ahead and link....there's a hackd dll on the website. http://www.windowsx.org/enhance/download/thememul.zip that will download a multipatcher, I believe it's updated to teh latest SP2 build, not sure...... but just run it, it will patch your current uxtheme.dll, then just copy it out of the folder, modifype it, and the makecab, and then put it in I386
