Did you try Injection via DISM? Did you read the threads? Last link Post #19. -
NT4 - Shuting down and restarting the server
submix8c replied to am12348's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
Post #7 is a Thread Merge (see post #9) Post #10 says IE6SP1 (should work fine) Post #2 says Minimum/Recommended IE5.5SP2 (see link) Install one or the other. Task Scheduler will appear in Control Panel. Also see LAST link in Post #2 for "How To" in Task Scheduler. A slight "trick". Fairly simple. It's because it's a PROGRAM and not a BAT/CMD. You have to start CMD.EXE and cause IT to execute the BAT/CMD file (again, see last link Post #2 indicating the Problem and Workaround). Also note Post #5 and Post #8 suggesting CALLING the Functions via CMD.EXE (same deal-io).In fact this scenario has me confused. OK... (reference also Post #8). Is the (lacking contents of the) INF file supposed to Shut Down/Beep/Restart the OS? Guessing so(?), but unsure about BEEP unless that's from the PC starting up during POST?Another reference to RUNDLL32 also from Rob - http://www.robvanderwoude.com/rundll.php AAAAAND the INF/BAT in question is ALSO referenced by Rob (scroll down) - http://www.robvanderwoude.com/shutdown.php Your PROBLEM is putting the INF into a BAT/CMD and causing it to SCHEDULE. Combine the Partial Solutions listed. 1 - Install IE5.5SP2/IE6SP1 (see references) 2 - Create the BAT file (see refrences) 3 - Scheduler the CMD in Task Scheduler to Run the BAT (see references) Done! Note: I'm really unsure if you will need some kind of Delay somewhere to allow for Scheduled CMD Exit. You should PROBABLY use "START /WAIT xxxx.BAT"(?). Maybe an "EXIT" need put in the end of the BAT(?). http://ss64.com/nt/cmd.html ...the TARGET being START(?)...http://www.robvanderwoude.com/ntstart.php -

Um... NO! A Retail CD has different "special files" as opposed to an OEM Install. The COA Key will not work on a Retail CD. Hint - search for OEMBIOS and SETUPP (particularly on the Dell HDD). You can Google that along with "site:msfn.org" (no quotes) for some helpful information. You will NEED those to create a Dell OEM CD (useable with the COA key). In addition, you will STILL have issues with the SATA Drivers that will NOT be present on the CD, the only work-around being Disabling SATA (AHCI) Mode in the Atom PC's BIOS -OR- Integrating the CORRECT SATA Drivers for the Atom PC into it (see HINT above). It's NOT just "slap in in and Repair" or "just swap/clone the HDD to another PC". Not that simple. It probably WILL NOT BOOT (blue screen). BTW, it will violate the EULA to use that COA Key on another PC. They (any Retail/Upgrade/OEM) can be used ONLY ONCE on a given PC and it WILL need activated. The COA Key is assigned at the Factory to that PC even though, by manipulation, it can be used on another. I can't won't give any more on this so do your own research (via google on above). The subject is all over MSFN as to the Exact Differences between All Editions/Variations in DETAIL (keys, files, etc) as well as the WWW, so think first before you act. Side issues - Is the OLD PC that bad or is it just loaded with "garbage" or Trojans/Viruses? If either/both is true, then even transferring to the Atom PC won't help and a good "cleaning" would make it all good again . Don't be so reluctant to give Make/Model of both if you want further help. HTH and good luck! I've said almost too much so I'm done...

Get this xxcopy and "other items"(ref. post #10 suggestion) - Here's some "copying" info, which is what it sounds like you want (reference only) - Round-about way (ensures no mistakes) - 1 - Get 7-Zip and install it (google for it). 2 - Create a folder on the C-drive (e.g. C:\XXCOPY) 3 - Unzip with 7-Zip the package downloaded in second link into XXCOPY folder and follow those instructions. 4 - Double-click the XXCOPY.EXE after following instructions and do what it says (take defaults). * XXCopy 32-bit is now installed. NOTE! Only runs under Windows. 5 - Format a Floppy with "Copy system files" selected. 6 - Copy FDISK and Format to it. 7 - Copy XXCOPY16 to it from the XXCOPY folder and remove Floppy. 8 - Shut down and replace Old Drive with New Drive as appropriate (note the JUMPERS). 9 - Put Floppy back in and ensure BIOS boots to it FIRST when Turned Back On. 10 - FDISK the New drive as appropriate, ensuring First Partition (new C-drive) is set Active. 11 - Reboot and run Run "FDISK /MBR" to install Boot Code. <---MISSED THIS STEP 11a - Reboot and Format Partition(s) as appropriate. * NOTE: Give a Label of something recognizable as NEW_C (or something) 12 - Shut down and hook up Both Drives as appropriate (note the JUMPERS and position on CABLES). * NOTE: Hook OLD as Primary and NEW as Secondary! 13 - Turn Back On and DOUBLE-CHECK Drive Letters by "FDISK" and "Display Partitions" * NOTE: Write down WHICH is WHICH (Old C-Drive letter and Drive Letter of "NEW_C") 14 - Run XXCOPY16 to CLONE the OLD Partition to NEW Partition based on #13 Letters 15 - Shut Down, Remove Floppy, Remove Old HDD, Hook New HDD as Primary. Done! Notes: 1 -Only ONE File should be "locked" (see post#8) even when Windows is running and that's "WIN386.SWP" (the Paging File). 2 - Knowing that, you COULD just use XXCOPY while running and copy EVERYTHING except THAT file, i.e. do EVERYTHING under Windows. HTH (did I miss anything, guys?) Edit - After rechecking Procedure a - Inserted the MBR part as Step#11 b - Changed Old Step#11 and designated as Step#11a Also note the Procedure is roughly the same as Jaclaz' Link except using 16-bit DOS Floppy. This procedure will be a one-time CLONE operation since the OS is not running at the time. The WIN386.SWP file will ALSO be copied since the OS is NOT running (i.e. "not locked". It will speed the CLONE process by DELETING that file BEFORE Cloning because it will be Rebuilt on Next Boot. A:\>del c:\windows\win386.swpNote that this CAN'T be done while Windows is running. ADDITIONALLY, I failed to note that the Procedure is 16-BIT DOS and XXCOPY16 has LIMITATIONS (ref the link Jaclaz gave at the "Q and A" section). BE AWARE! THEREFORE, the above method MAY be unsuitable. BUT, repeating the CLONE (as performed in the link) seems to indicate ACTIVELY USED files may need to be "Re-Cloned", so it MAY be recommended to Shut Down any Active Processes -OR do it in Safe Mode (?) -AND- do NOT do anything until the CLONE process is completed.

Dell is probably an OEM Pre-install and MAY have the Utilities Partition (1st) and Recovery Partition (3d). That "Blue Bar" sounds like the Special Dell MBR Code (I have it on a E521). http://www.goodells.net/dellrestore/ Can you say what Model? What OS? (assume XP?) Atom is a CPU. Can you tell what Make/Model this "Atom System" is? You're also going from IDE to SATA as well as probably Chipset differences. In addition, the OS WILL more than likely immediately deactivate. Each OEM Install is "tied" to their Make (Brand) via SLP (XP) / SLIC2.0 (Vista) / SLIC2.1 (Win7). No way to "trick" the Install. Hope you have the COA sticker still available on that Dell. addendum- There is no MBR on a Retail XP CD. If you try a FIXMBR, it will only "wipe" the MBR but still not "fix" the OS to work on a non-Dell PC. (SEE LINK GIVEN and do some light reading).

Simple SQL query question
submix8c replied to ciHnoN's topic in Web Development (HTML, Java, PHP, ASP, XML, etc.)
Sorry I can't help beyond "logically". Only have used basic functions in MS-Access so far (very similar). Now if this were being coded in said Mainframe languages (and access to said Mainframe), I could have give you exactly what you need post-haste. Have no full-blown SQL (MS-Access isn't AFAICT) installed. "For Each..."/ "End-For" -
TYVM, Fernando - suspected as much (re - nForce) from other "digging around". Have the "specific" drivers waiting on my HDD. Again, my thx.

HAH! 5eraph - keywords = 'new laptop" (unplug is not an option is it?).... Seems the GUI-part (PnP) of the Video wasn't showing the screen until reboot. Odd... Q: How many Reboots? http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_times_does_the_system_reboot_in_a_windows_XP_installation A: "3 times" 1 - Textmode 2 - Install <-Problem area 3 - Welcome Correct? Maybe you mean to "power down" after Textmode then "power up"?

Simple SQL query question
submix8c replied to ciHnoN's topic in Web Development (HTML, Java, PHP, ASP, XML, etc.)
Been a LOOOONG time using SQL (MainFrame via Assembly/COBOL) but it seems that somewhere you will have to allow for a "count" or another "secondary" Read to see if there's another "ITEMID" existing (thus indicating more than one Table2_ID and/or building the Report in an independent temporary Table? How are the Key Fields set up - just the ID field in both tables? On a Mainframe, you could use a Secondary Key as necessary (depending on your needs). (that's an oddball you're asking for) Probably no help, but logically that seems to be what you may need to do. -
Sorry to bump, Fernando, but is the procedure much different than the Intel Drivers procedure? (also see my edit above) edit/note - Plan on "hacking" an old Dell for additional SATA/RAID modes (nVidia drivers) and want to be sure of procedure, having never done it. I would have "assumed" it would be the same.

For the record (the "random forum") you may want to try this just for funsies - http://www.freewaregenius.com/open-target-shell-extension-find-target-folders-for-shortcuts-through-the-context-menu-in-xp-op/ Seems that the chap "tireless" is (maybe) the one that "invented" the script (read through above link to ANOTHER solution). There are exactly four references to that BAT file, one being OSZONES forum (was that the random one?). Just check out the link given for potential solution. HTH edit - tacking on another - from link above, the poster "tireless" agreed that the script was not so hot and also linked to (guess where?)... and a notation edit - Also for the record, not all Shortcuts are created equal, e.g. Right-Click on the IE Desktop ICON or even My Computer, My Documents, Network Places and select Properties. The Targets work entirely differently from the Standard Shortcuts. I believe that Class-ID's have something to do with some of them. OSZONES Forum - To get that code you have above just "View Source" and look for it. http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&ie=UTF8&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=ru&tl=en&u=http://forum.oszone.net/thread-82654-3.html&usg=ALkJrhhLUsstjH1PkKaYW22M1IWUvK5kMg# This one points back to Yzowl script - http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&ie=UTF8&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=ru&tl=en&u=http://forum.oszone.net/showthread.php%3Fs%3D0814105185aa107d3d2f5369f04074f2%26t%3D57552&usg=ALkJrhh4517-MfU9HT27s0llGIXm-L3pzg

Haven't checked Fernando's Package (in post#234) but I found this - http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=5296274&swItem=vc-108693-1&prodNameId=5296279&swEnvOID=4051&swLang=13&taskId=135&mode=3 Unpacked using WinRAR, WinZIP, or Universal Extractor gives a "Deployment" Folder with Win7 and XP folders inside with TXTSETUP.OEM for both x86 and x64 for each. The INF/CAT/SYS files are inside them. Snippets - ; ahcix86.INF ; Copyright 2012 Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. ; [Version] signature="$Windows NT$" Class=SCSIAdapter ClassGUID={4D36E97B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} CatalogFile=ahcix86.cat Provider=%ATI% DriverVer=06/08/2012, 3.3.1540.33 [ATI.NTx86.5.1] %NapaDesc%=Napa_Inst,PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4391&CC_0106 [Strings] ; *******Localizable Strings******* ATI= "Advanced Micro Devices, Inc." Desc_x860= "AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controller Driver" NapaDesc= "AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controller" (edit - did download Fernando to "kind of" compare) HTH (someone...) SEEMS to be (somewhat) the same except "newer"? EDIT! OUCH!!!! You Integrated them without using the option of Text-Mode in nLite! Double-ouch! (see Fernando post - I thought it was very much same)

Attempt to Full Erase the DVD-RW (perhaps with IMGBURN). May or May Not work... I've had goof-ups like this as well. Be SURE that you fully eject and reinsert the DVD-RW and use (insurance step) the SHIFT key to prevent AutoPlay then fire up IMGBURN to erase. HTH
-
The Integrated Drivers are placed in separate Folders within the I386 folder as folder(s) "NLDRV\nnn" where "nnn" is a generated sequence number. nLite modifies TXTSETUP.SIF to allow POINTING to as "potential" drivers to use. If that given Hardware doesn't exist, then the Standard PnP Drivers included with the OS will be used. Not a problem. HTH

Not necessarily OT (re - "NETSH")... Should be there? Got curious and google'd netsh "windows 7"New NETSH Commands. Or... maybe last link is erroneous? (says Win2k8). This one also says Win2k8? DUH! This says "Applies To: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista", so... "VM"??? Definitely OT but may be useful (from the google search) http://www.practicallynetworked.com/networking/create_a%20virtual_wireless_router_with_windows.htm Not intending to confuse the issue, just checking/confirming... Because planning on Win7 "Soon!" "How soon?" "Real soon..." addendum - DOH! Maybe it's due to the VM vs Real Machine? (see Virtual Wireless OT link above)? Could be some kind of conflicts between them (same MAC, right?).

What more do you want?

Sorry, can't help you. A Mac touchpad's driver is different from Windows/Linux-based touchpad's driver. You see, you're running Windows ON TOP OF Mac within Bootcamp (a VM). This person "wrote" the driver himself. Please note that Apple makes their OWN hardware and is VERY proprietary. You're stuck with occasional updates.

Short answer - there apparently isn't one (we've looked) or else it would have been readily provided. I COULD bother to install the Base Broducts and get the list, but why? And you're asking us to make one (install the unnecessary to get lists) for you. Indeed, it would supply a KBxxxxxx list if YOU did it (you ARE installing, BTW) for others too, wouldn't it? Come on! CONTRIBUTE!Now, is it REALLY that disrespectful a suggestion? edit - my mistake v3.5SP1 is here (change language) - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=22 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=25150 And I won't swear to this but I believe it INCLUDES v2 and v3 (237mb). (Jeez, downloading now just for you...)

Probably (been mentioned before somewhere). The poster needs also the Key and XRM-MS from the HDD and information on how-to, otherwise the COA Key would need used (not really a problem). I believe it's possible to do an "over-the-top" install as well. The RECOMMENDED way, however, is the Recovery Partition/DVD (with the "bloatware"). It's definitely a better way to go than using XP and destroying the current Install of Vista. Besides, that XP Key has already been used (AFAICT) on another PC. Would it be possible to separate these posts off to another Topic? With a cross-reference ThisTopic<->NewTopic to distinguish the problems?
-
In addition, you could carefully clean the 2nd CD (DVD?) and try again. Were the Recover "CD's" (DVD's) made from the running OS (see link #3)? Sometimes they are AND sometimes they are supplied. Also, have you tried this for Vista Recovery (HIDDEN partition)? 1 - https://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/bulletinDetail.jsp?soid=2737864&pf=true And it says so right here the same thing - 2 - http://en.kioskea.net/faq/4811-toshiba-laptop-reset-to-factory-settings There's also POTENTIALLY an F8 trick that may work (did on a Dell) - 3 - http://www.geekpolice.net/t18281-toshiba-recovery-partition-hotkey-instructions A wealth of information about Recovery by Googling toshiba laptop vista recovery dvd FWIW, you MIGHT be able to get -1- the Internal Vista Key (not the COA key) and -2- a "special file" and -3- a legitimate download of THAT "Flavor" of Vista (Home, Premium, etc) and reinstall with that as a last resort. Sorry, I can't give links. -OR- see if a friend/neighbor has that flavor Vista Retail DVD. -NOTE- The COA key works with that FLAVOR Vista as well. Best to get it with SP2 Integrated, although (AFAIK) vLite would integrate SP2 for you.

Jeez, dude, do a little of your own legwork! This MIGHT help (example - lots of hits) Google - "net framework 2.0 service pack 2" "support.microsoft.com/kb" And honestly the Main Package is what takes forever to install. Do that and then check Windows Update (Custom) to get the KB articles (without downloading), go to Main MS KB article (googler the KB article), go to the download page and manually get them for "mass install". The Updates are TEENY-WEENY and take no time at all to install (unlike the Main Package). Seriously, how do you think WE build our lists? Magic? That is EXACTLY how -X- did it, and I haven't update mine FOREVER and ONLY have v1.1 and v2.0. P.S. How many ESN users do you think are on an ENU forum? Ugly full-blown lists that don't even specify which SP - http://kbupdate.info/net-framework-2-0.php http://kbupdate.info/net-framework-3-5.php http://kbupdate.info/net-framework-1-1-info.php We're more than glad to help BUT "give on a Silver Platter"? Come on!

Donate, then. It doesn't even say how much.
-
"Bootcamp" install? Is "Trackpad++" free (I find nothing on that)? Is there somewhere (Options) you can disable "autoupdate"? Ahhhh! I see - ONLY if you get a Serial via "Donate" - http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1236472 Kind of doubting it...
