1. That would be the "DISPLAY.INF" file you're finding that in. "VGAPnP.SYS" is (apparently) the file. Probably find it in one of the Server 2003 Service Packs. You specified 5.2..3790.x - the ORIGINAL would be in the Server 2003 RTM (no service pack). Why are you asking? Rationale?
2. Well, you COULD provide the Motherboard name. MANY with Integrated have a "midi" (aka GAME) port. Addendum - OW!!!! Google "I-Opener" motherboard http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I-Opener That's ROUGH!!!
3. OK... HERE is the COMPLETE Step-By-Step Guide and Reference! This WILL work! I've credited you with the additional link for the WMP11 Integrator Screenshots.
4. ===== GREAT BIG EDIT!!! ===== IE8 is (apparently) Directly able to slipstream with the LATEST nLite. It has been improved. Please note that WMP11 is still safest (AFAIK) to slippstream with the WMP11 Slipstreamer using the corresponding WMP11 EXE files. The revised link to UDC is http://xdot.tk/ Will update this guide at first opportunity. =========================== All Links and References are at the end of this post. Credits to the Maintainers and Creators of all the Links, Lists, and Tools to perform the Fully Up-To-Date XP x86 CD (NOT x64). NOTICE! OnePiece’ Internet Explorer 8 Add-on Creator references have been removed! –X- has incorporated OnePiece’ IE8 Add-on Creator and all IE8 Hotfixes. This tutorial has been modified accordingly. Edit: To clarify the end result of this procedure, it will COMPLETELY REPLACE WMP9 with WMP11 and COMPLETELY REPLACE IE6 with IE8 (Old Original Components are OVERLAYED with Replacement Components). I have repeated many Links to Updates and Tools inside the Link References for the purpose of Common Reference. No DIRECT Links to Tools/Software are given as the DIRECT Links are provided within the Reference Links. Please notice the Difference between Updates and Upgrades. Updates (fixes) in this Tutorial apply to “What Is On The CD”. Upgrades are Internet Explorer 8 and Windows Media Player 11 which are NOT on the XP CD. XP Service Pack 3 contains IE6SP1 and WMP9 so this will be the HIGHEST level they will go. That is the purpose of this Tutorial. Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or higher is ALSO an Optional Upgrade and is REQUIRED to perform this Tutorial. This tutorial does not address any other Optional Add-on’s (e.g. .Net Framework) including Non-Microsoft Add-ons. Do these steps EXACTLY to properly Integrate Internet Explorer 8 and Windows Media Player 11. Failure to perform these steps TO THE LETTER will result in an unusable Slipstream. Before we begin, I HIGHLY recommend the following (in case you didn’t know) - * * Note: The “Folders” button allows for the Left/Right Pane View. In Windows Explorer (at the Top), 1 – Select “View” and Click “Details” 2 – Select “Tools->Folder Options” * General Tab - Click "Classic" * View Tab Click the following -- Display the contents of system folders - YES -- Show hidden files and folders - YES -- Hide extensions for known file types - NO -- Hide protected operating system files - NO (Click OK) 3 - Click "Apply" 4 - Click "Apply to All Folders" 5 – Click “OK” The above can be reset ANYTIME to Defaults as follows: 1 – Select “View” and Click “Thumbnails” 2 – Select “Tools->Folder Options” * General Tab - Click "Show common tasks in folders" * View Tab Click “Restore Defaults” 3 - Click "Apply" 4 - Click "Apply to All Folders" 5 – Click “OK” NOTICE: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or higher to be installed prior to running the nLite and WMP11 Integrator (Slipstreamer) programs. Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 can be downloaded from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displaylang=en If it is not installed you will receive a "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)" or a ".NET Framework initialization error" upon launch of the programs. I do NOT use the nLite Installer version in this Tutorial. If you use the nLite Installer, change the Folder Name specified in all places below as appropriate. Additionally, I use ONLY "-X- Updates Downloader, Checker and Add-on Creator", hereafter referred to as "-X- UDC", which will include any references to the Linked Website's Footnote 1 (MediaPlayer). 5. Ummm... I hate to break in here, but if you have a running OS that already has ANY driver installed, the ONLY way (that I know of at least) to use a DIFFERENT driver is to Update Driver in the Device Manager. OTHERWISE, the Driver has to be Integrated (however depending on the OS) to be Installed during Clean or Upgrade. I know of NO other way to update a Driver. The INF may PUT the Drivers where they need to be but they won't "automagically" change just because you "installed" it. Generally speaking Driver Updates Packages "know" what to "delete older" and "force" a reinstall of the NEWER ("alternate") Driver. In other words, just putting (e.g.) NEWER nVidia Drivers via INF into my OS won't by default USE the Newer Driver. You would have to REMOVE the Device to allow it to "re-find" it. That's why there's SPECIFICALLY an "Update Driver" button in Device Manager.
6. MediaPlayer Updates - Post #39 "More Direct Way" would have given the Microsoft Web Page to download, you click the "Download" button, another Web Page displays and the Download SHOULD begin. The DIRECT LINKS for each one given by -X- (Post #58)are the SAME ONES (DUDE!). How in the DEUCE did you download the MediaPlayer11 Installer then, because I gave you the Download page for THAT so you SHOULD have seen how the screens WORK? BTW, do NOT use any OLDER version of the MediaPlayer11 Installer (there WAS an older version). Use the LATEST one (I gave THAT link too). WHY are you making US do all of the footwork? We give instructions, You follow (footwork). First, I'm betting you are NOT getting the LATEST files (even IE8 has an OLDER version). Second, you've NOT followed my instructions "to the letter" as I have REPEATEDLY told you to do. Third, if YOUR PC was having problems connecting, then YOUR PC has a REAL problem? Post #56 and Post #57 above are also causing more confusion for me. Did you NEVER run -X- BAT file (Post #57) and Integrate? From reading them AND -X- post, it basically says you NEVER Integrated MP11 since you WOULDN'T have had those FIVE files until NOW!!! AND I did NOT say those were "they reference Windows Media Player 9, or 10", I SPECIFICALLY said they were MULTI-MediaPlayer (9,10, AND 11) and -X- STRIPS the 10,11 OUT since SP3 INCLUDES ONLY MP9 and NLITE GETS CONFUSED WITH MULT-VERSION-FIX-FILES and the MP11 INTEGRATOR DOES IT INSTEAD (doe s NOT get confused). You are (apparently?) FREAKING over the fact that CABARC may be download from OTHER than MS - the FACT is that SOMETIMES the MS site FAILS so rather than KILL the BAT process, an ALTERNATE was found. Indeed, a NEWER CABARC is obtained FURTHER DOWN to "generate" the LATEST "Windows Update Agent". You are NOT reading the posts! You are confusing the WHOLE PROCESS! Are you or are you NOT going to follow ALL instructions AS GIVEN? We will TRY to explain EVERYTHING LATER instead of PIECEMEAL! I have other things I could do, like finish learning/testing SYSPREP. Crucial info left out again - XP SP1 manually slipped... Without a COMPLETE description of a Problem (symptoms etc) WITHOUT doing ANYTHING ELSE to change the Parameters -AND- the ORIGINAL SOURCE and ACTUAL PC it makes it REAL HARD to help, ESPECIALLY if you haphazardly do stuff OTHER THAN what was SPECIFICALLY SPECIFIED! POST #59 - "Add the SP3 first, of course, then the IE8 one step, add the UDC-02.12.13 files, add the MP11, and add those 3 IE8 files" - NO NO NO NO NO! WRONG ORDER! Go BACK and READ AGAIN!!! You are IGNORING ME!!!! You were given EXACT STEPS! Do you IGNORE CAKE-MAKING INSTRUCTIONS TOO? As for the REPLACEMENT files, I SAID to use the Windows Explorer View Details - you could FURTHER go to -Tools->Folder Options General Tab - tick "Classic"->View Tab-> --"Display the contents of system folders" - YES --"Show hidden files and folders" - YES --"Hide extensions for known file types" - NO --"Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" - NO (click OK) -Click "Apply" and the "Apply to All Folders" See? The -X- ones are Generated CABS (Add-Ons) and have ONLY the MP9-part inside (not the FULL FIX). I SAID THAT!!! (wow!!!) DO WHAT WAS TOLD or I'm out!!! BUILD ACCORDING TO INSTRUCTIONS (no argument/comment/alterations) and THEN run the Upgrade! (Just for fun I will GO AHEAD AND HORK AN INSTALL just to see if it DOES work, and I'm BETTING it will!)
7. ahhh... OOBE command (sorry...) %systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe /a"But since you're activated, no need as it will only do the same thing ("You are already activated" popup window). Cleanup old stuff later. Interesting about the SoundBlaster. Shouldn't have existed at all for ANY XP version (you said you Upgraded from XP Home). Proceed with what I said to do. I'll keep my PC up for a SHORT while - g-kids driving me/wife nutz! Going to crack a brew... She REALLY wants me to shut down - so better do it now, dude! edit - why are you still here? nothing to add from me UNTIL you do what I said and report back.
8. Be aware most of these "adaptations" are from "Beta" and require a special file PLUS the games have been "patched". This subject has already been discussed.
9. OK, fine.... That Product Key can only be used ONCE according to the MS Eula. In addition, you have REPEATEDLY stated it was SP2 Pro (which it is not) You MUST have slipped SP2 into it at some point. If you slipped ANYTHING additional, it WILL be bolloxed. You MUST start from the ORIGINAL one. You should read that nLite FAQ again. IF you slipped ONLY the SP2 and NOTHING ELSE then you MIGHT be OK.(sigh... lacking crucial information... also explains the PID value...) Be aware that if you keep this up that Product Key entered MAY not continue to Validate and you'll have to call Microsoft and explain to them. "Windows Genuine Advantage"... (note - I have no clue as to whether Academic will repeatedly Validate - Remember the "msoobe /a" command you never responded to?) Edit - find and EMPTY all "TEMP" folder contents (NOT the Folder) in Safe Mode. Also get CCLEANER, install, and run it to clear out all of the "garbage" - UNCHECK "Delete Log Files" - we need that to ENSURE your "Upgrade" worked properly. Betting ESET "thinks" you had a "boot sector virus" IF you "attempted" a Win7 Install (different Boot Sector). Booting from the CD into Recovery Console and running "fixmbr" should recreate it properly. http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/bootcons_fixmbr.mspx DO IT NOW!!! ALL OF IT - UPGRADE LAST!!! FROM WINDOWS!!!
10. Hmmm, how odd! This (55276-000) says that's an XP SP2 Pro Upgrade (yours - 55276-013). What's the Volume Label say? Same as found on that page (VRMPCCP_EN)? This says Win9x is valid for Upgrade. I honestly have never seen a Retail Full with that in it. ALTHOUGH this indicates it MIGHT be a Full retail. TeamViewer (free) won't work for me - I run Server. OK, IF you did EXACTLY what I said (nLite and associated files - NOTHING ELSE ) AND you run the Burned CD from Running Window and select UPGRADE then it SHOULD fix you. I have NO CLUE why you keep coming up with MediaPlayer10 on your desktop. You should see NO Logs in the Windows Directory related to KBxxx, WMSETUPxxxx, IE(anything) and ALL of the "$NTx" folders, the "$hf_mig$" folder, and the "ServicePackFiles" folder in the "Windows" directory should DISAPPEAR!!! Do the Repair this way (my way). BEFORE you do, disconnect from the Internet (unplug from the PC) and ENABLE Automatic Updates. AFTER the Run, DISABLE Automatic Updates and reconnect to the Internet. Let me know IF the above conditions have been met then get back with me. This may be your last chance (from me, anyway) since I will have to log out later and won't be back until Sunday Evening. Note - the Install SHOULD allow for "Upgrade" - watch what is on the screens! When you use the Command Prompt and "CD x:\I386" (x is you CD drive) then "x:" (to fully change) a Winnt32 execution is also possible. http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/winnt32.mspx x:\I386\winnt32 /dudisable /makelocalsource /syspart:c: /tempdrive:c: /unattend:x:\I386\winnt.sifUse the ABOVE in a Command Prompt, changing the "x" to your CD/DVD drive letter. It, in effect, does the same thing as the Upgrade link (but I like it better). edit - It SHOULD support TWO of the Cores of a QuadCore...
11. Ummmm... how about that System Screen snapshot - I seen a "tabletoc.log" - IS THIS A TABLET PC (Netbook/Laptop)? Relevant LOG files (why I asked about UPDATES)... You can NOT Slipstream SP3 into Tablet PC Edition easily, nor is it easily done in Media Center Edition! Provide the Snapshot AND the Make/Model of your PC! We could be spinning our wheels here! edit - HANG LOOSE!!!! Need to go get grandkids (walking) - about 1/2 hr...
12. OK, I'm posting this as a "placeholder" and further investigation. Please don't post after this YET! I found THIS after googling "the system must be restarted before installing" "to allow some prior update"It APPEARS that you tried to do THIS - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943144 (the not-so-latest Windows Update Agent - OUR "Add-On" is the LATEST, in SPITE of what you may think). Might I note that it DOES have a SECOND method instead of ATTEMPTING to install this. It CLEARLY indicates your Windows Update is screwed up. edit - (sigh...) The lists clearly indicate that the files were NOT cleared out. Do this - Do NOT do the "Boot to CD Repair" (First MichaelStevens method). Do the SECOND one (Alternate). ALSO - WTH are all of those LOG files dated 2013, ESPECIALLY those listed YESTERDAY and TODAY??? SURELY you're not trying to INSTALL that stuff from your "Updates" Folder (seen in the Picture)??? NONONONONO!!!! Redo the Repair Install and DO NOT - REPEAT - DO NOT install ANYTHING else!!!! You are stabbing in the dark and NOT following instructions! DO THE BELOW NOW AND NOTHING ELSE! BEFORE we go any further I need to know EXACTLY what OS you have installed (at THIS moment). DO NOTHING ELSE until you do THIS - 1 - Go to "Control Panel" and select "System"/the "General" tab. 2 - Press the "Print Screen" key on your keyboard. 3 - Go to "Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Paint" 4 - Select from the "Edit" button "Paste" 5 - Select "Save As", enter the name "SYSTEM" 6 - Using the Pull-Down below the name, select "As Type = JPEG" 7 - Click "Save" (will be in your "My Pictures") 8 - On YOUR ABOVE post, Edit it and ATTACH the "SYSTEM.JPG" I'll wait.... (tired of making NEW posts...) @charlotte - I appreciate it, BUT we are ATTEMPTING to un-bollox this PC without "tossing" anything whatsoever. It's the method I've used multiple times to "upgrade" my NT-OS's (alternate method of "fix"). Repair Install (OP's way) In-Place Upgrade (my/Alternate way). edit - After searching, it APPEARS you started having this problem about 5 days ago - http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-windows_update/windows-xp-pro-sp3-media-player-11-wont-install/b8b04d6c-31a7-4752-868d-2731f66c7344
13. Followup - let's see if THIS will help see what may be boogering you. The THEORY is that absolutely NO Fix Folders should be listed because a Repair (Over-The-Top) will DELETE all of them. I'm unsure if it WILL delete them IF you do it from BOOT to the CD method. AFAICR, I used the ALTERNATIVE method (Running OS). Look BACK to the MichaelStevens link I gave. Side note: There should be absolutely NOTHING (Updates) showing in "Add or Remove Programs" with "Show Updates" checked under "Windows XP"(?). ( the ? is because I'm currently running my Server and it lists as such...) Download the attached, Unzip it "somewhere" and run BOTH "BAT" files. Zip the TXT-file Outputs (two of them) and attach BOTH ZIP files in your next post. All these will do is do a DIR for "C:\Windows\" "$NT*.*" + "$HF*.* folders AND the LOG files "*.LOG". Note - for YOU to Attach your ZIP'ed files (two of them), use the "Use Full Editor" (under "Fast Reply"), use the "Browse" and select each file then click "Attach This File" then click "Add to Post", one-by-one. listlogsupdt.zip
14. Um... Registry Cleaners mess the registry up. No "real geek" uses them unless they know EXACTLY what's being "cleaned". Now, back to your PREVIOUS post. If you integrated EXACTLY like I said, you would have already HAD the Latest Windows Update Agent. WindowsUpdateAgent7.6.7600.256.cabGenerated from THIS WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe Method created by :: Windows Update Agent by submix8c! :: WUA files info courtesy of ricktendo64 and 5eraph :: SFX and XVI32 info courtesy of WildBill :: PARTCOPY (split) info courtesy of jaclaz and dencorsoSURELY you didn't move ALL "CAB files"! AGAIN, have you even TRIED any of the "clean it up" Links I gave, in PARTICULAR (from Post#30) PLEASE ANSWER ABOVE!AND... a REAL silly! Go to Start->Run-> and enter: msoobe /a <---- DO THIS and report back to see if you're "activated". Quit trying to Install Extra Stuff after the Slipstream is PROPERLY Constructed! Everything is already included! That EXACT MESSAGE! What, exactly, do you think I gave the LINK for? FUN??? DO IT! It's DIRECTLY RELATED to MICROSOFT UPDATES FAILURES!!!!BTW, try turning OFF Auto-Update (THAT'S "for fun"). Big Giant Addendum! - Per the Picture you FINALLY posted! HOLY KRUD!! That's NOT the "Update Agent! That's a NEWER version of "Windows Installer"! http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8483 THIS is why I said DO NOT install ANYTHING beyond Repair Install AFTER the FULL INTEGRATION! From the Picture, I see ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in that folder as for as KBxxx Fixes that you DO NOT ALREADY HAVE OR IS SUPERSEDED BY A NEWER ONE! (picture does NOT list everything - Defender is GARBAGE and is SUPERSEDED by MS Security Essentials!) Is THAT the Message you REPEATEDLY get? THE EXACT MESSAGE??? Is THAT why you KEEP trying to install it? That's the ORIGINAL MESSAGE? BEFORE you tried to instalI it? f so, STOP IT and do the MS FIX LINK ABOVE!!! Clean its "Microsoft Update" brains! Also, do you get ANY error when attempting to open the Windows Media Player REGARDLESS of what "version" you THINK you have? Do NOT use the Desktop link! USE THIS Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment -> Windows Media Player We'll NEVER get to the bottom of this if you keep doing "extra stuff" and NOT doing "do this stuff"! That is NOT the way to do Problem Analysis (introducing new Variables)! We NEED TO KNOW what XP THINKS is Pending (if ANYTHING after Repair Install with Integrated)! (submix8c <-stupidly persistent) edit - P.S. It could be something OTHER than MS software (not knowing if that was the ORIGINAL error) that is "stuck" in your TEMP folder.
15. These are the Filenames downloaded, extracted, selected WMP9 items kept, and "repacked" via the UDC BAT into CAB files. WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB954155-x86-ENU.exe WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB973540-x86-ENU.exe WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB975558-x86-ENU.exe WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB978695-x86-ENU.exe WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB2378111-x86-ENU.exe Round-about way - Going to http://xdot.tk/updates.html and searching for the KBxxx (e.g.) KB954155you will see the MS Bulletin Column - click on it. Do NOT click on the NEXT column (the KBxxxx) as that gives just the Documentation about it and no link to the Download. After clicking on the MS Bulletin link (right-click and Open In New Tab to retain the -X- page) scroll down until you find "Windows XP Service Pack 3". To the RIGHT (second column) will be ANOTHER link - OBSERVE that you use the CORRECT KBxxxx link as SEVERAL may/may-not be listed. Click directly on it and you will be directed to the Download Page. More Direct way - Google (e.g.) "WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB954155-x86-ENU.exe" download site:microsoft.comreplacing the KB number for each one and go directly to the Download Page (usually the first one listed). The Direct Links to the files are inside the UDC BAT file if you know what to look for but is irrelevant in this case. -X- has indicated using the IE8 Addon Creator since IE8 doesn't require WGA. He has NOT given a link to the WMP11 since it DOES require WGA to be allowed to download. The Hotfixes ALSO require NO Validation. Rule are Rules - no Direct Links allowed to be posted and NEVER (even in a Downloader) for one that requires WGA. I've been working on a BAT/CMD file to automatically do the "shuffling/redownloading" but that's for my own purposes. edit - You might take a look at -X- "Footnote 9", Sort by Date just like you would in Windows Explorer (View->Details checked) and clicking on the Date (ascending) Bar. Just remember that IE8 and WMP11 must be done LAST (unsorted) and in the correct order.
16. Rule #2.e was pointed out. You removed the attachment. I put the link there (I'm allowed). Thanks for pointing out the Tool Name (of which I found the link to). You're welcome.
17. Yes, it DOES put all of the Post-SP3 files in a SINGLE folder and it's THERE that you MOVE the NINE file OUT of (three IE8 EXE files and SIX MediaPlayer CAB files) because you will be using the ONE Generated (via the Add-On Creator) IE8 Add-ON + Three Replacement IE8 Hotfixes and the WMP11 Integrator + WMP11 Installer + the Replacement FIVE WMP11 Hotfixes. I gave you the Order Of Selection which should be AFTER the -X- files (those left in the UDC Download Folder after Moving the Nine Files out). As far as selecting, you can mass-select by navigating to the UDC folder, select the FIRST file, scroll to the LAST file, press SHIFT and select the LAST file and voila! the will all be inserted. edit - you need EVERY SINGLE FILE that was specified AFTER moving the files you do NOT want (replaced) and using the Newly Generated, Added, and Replaced. Leave out NOTHING after moving EXACTLY what was specified (from UDC). Summary - - SP3 - All UDC Files (after MOVING the NINE files) - One Generated IE8 AddOn+ THREE Hotfixes that must be inserted AFTER it! - One MP11 Installer + FIVE MP11 Hotfixes that must be added AFTER it. Side Note - UDC BAT file and IE8 BAT file cleans out EVERYTHING that was INITIALLY unzipped, so ONLY the Necessary Files remain in Those Folders to be used by nLite. The ONLY thing after that is to REMOVE the NOT WANTED files from UDC and use REPLACEMENT stuff to Upgrade to IE8 and MP11, just like IF you had Installed them AFTERward. Seriously, NOT complex IF you follow the instructions EXACTLY. Don't "assume" anything - just do it! edit - DO NOT CLICK WITHIN THE HOTFIX WINDOW on the Filename Bar at the top - it SORTS the Filenames and that will BOLLOX the order of the IE8/MP11 Files out-of-order! The MUST be done AT THE END IN PROPER ORDER! They CAN, however, be moved up/down within the Window (just don't do it).
18. ??? Have NEVER done this (yet...) but I think Tripredacus may be onto something - http://qa.social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserversetup/thread/b464af1f-60f5-4894-b06a-fe17ce91b8cf You can't load a full-blown Boot Image - it has to have a "loader" (?) that in turn loads the Image. Found via Google "PXE-E79: NBP is too big to fit in free base memory" dhcp windowsand appears to work the same way if loading a Linux Image - must use a "loader" to load the Image.
19. I guess Status Updates is a great place to Promote your Websites and Youtube Videos. :(

I'm not sure why this was enabled again.

Here's the sad part - it's USUALLY inserted from Twitter. ;)

20. The only thing was the Rule#2.e (see post#10). The links to the non-MSFN-specific one are still in my post above, which just represents a FREE tool that MAY be of use to someone (not against the rules) as long as you abide by the rule of NOT trying to promote a Commercial ($$$) Offering. You have already removed the Attachment/Direct Link to the MSFN-specific one (voluntarily)... I may be wrong, but the Post #10 (simply put) says that "this is not MSFN stuff". You could (shakily) construe this Topic as a "contribution" of a potentially useful Tool (sans direct link to the File or as an attachment). The link to the Website and this Topic will undoubtedly remain. As you have not been "banned" I might assume that you are OK here. Still, too bad your program has "branding" and Adverts. May be worth using though nonetheless, kind of like the "older" Flashget (Adverts-box). Again, Welcome to MSFN and enjoy your stay (abiding by the Rules, of course)!
21. Hmmm... Inspecting the IE8.Add-on.Creator, it actually downloads the initial IE8 Installer and creates file "IE8-WindowsXP-x86-ENU.OnePiece.7z". This file should be inserted into the Hotfix List BEFORE the Note#4/5/6 IE8 Files. REMOVE the Original IE6 Files. Let's try this again - (Pre-information - IE6sp1 and WMP9 are INCLUDED in XP-ServicePack3) 1 - UNPACK the "UDC-02.12.13.zip" to ANYWHERE (make a folder) 2 - RUN the "UDC-02.12.13.bat" -- The execution DOWNLOADS all Post-SP3 EXE files from ----- MIcrosoft (ALL Hotfixes after SP3) ----- Adobe (Flash Player) -- AND creates a number of CAB files (Add-Ons) which INCLUDES WMP9 "WindowsMedia" 3 - MOVE the Original IE6 files (Note#4,5,6) to ANYWHERE else! 4 - MOVE ALL "WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KBxxxxx-x86-ENU.cab" files to ANYWHERE else! 5 - UNPACK the "IE8.Add-on.Creator.zip" to ANYWHERE (make a folder) 6 - RUN "RUN ME! IE8 Add-on Creator.bat" -- The execution DOWNLOADS the IE8 Installer and creates - ----- ONE "IE8-WindowsXP-x86-ENU.OnePiece.7z" (Add-On) 7 - Have the WMP11 Installer and FIVE WMP11 REPLACEMENT files ELSEWHERE! 8 - Have the THREE IE8 REPLACEMENT files ELSEWHERE 9 - PUT the WMP11 Integrator EXE in the NLITE folder Now we Integrate - 1 - In Service Pack, select the SP3 2 - In the Hotfixes, select ALL files still LEFT in the "UDC-02.12.13" folder 3 - STILL in the Hotfixes, select the ""IE8-WindowsXP-x86-ENU.OnePiece.7z" Add-On 4 - STILL in the Hotfixes, select the THREE IE8 REPLACEMENT files 5 - STILL in the Hotfixes, select the WMP11 Installer ---- Note: It SHOULD ask for any other UPDATES (the FIVE REPLACEMENT files) ---- If it does NOT, then select them AFTERWARDS 6 - BEFORE the Create ISO, change the WINNT.SIF per the link 7 - Proceed to create the ISO and Burn Do NOT do anything else and do NOT use any other options! edit - IF you have ALREADY run the UDC Batch file and you 7-Zipped it, then UNZIP IT first because you NEED the files inside it (see above)! It is NOT an Add-On (actual FILES and some GENERATED add-on). This is NOT like a RyanVM Add-On, but the CAB's generated ARE! You have CONFUSED yourself with OTHER Add-Ons and methods - IGNORE ALL OF THAT as it DOES NOT APPLY for this process!
22. Active Directory? Part of a Domain? (Domain Controller?) Locally, the Filename is "Windows\System32\Config\SAM" hive. http://teamapproach.ca/administration/SAM.htm
23. ??? What Server Version? NT4, 2000, 2003?
24. Point #3 above - NOOOOOOO!!!!! Use ONLY what I had listed for WMP11 by using the WMP11 INTEGRATOR. Do NOT use RyanVM! Use -X- files you got and use MY INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER!!!! The only thing LACKING in the SINGLE INSTRUCTION POST was all of the links to be used to GATHER the WMP11/IE8 files but they WERE pointed to in the Post-By-Post list I gave. I specifically said do NOT mix any other fixes with this one because it will not be correct! Look at this DIRECTLY from the "Update Pack"! You STOMPED on the MP11 Integrator step! THAT pack does NOT take into account IE8 or MP11 and nLite got REAL confused! That's the reason -X- "generated" MP9 CAB files that you should REPLACE with the Original from MS EXE files I listed. It APPEARS that the ONLY thing that save you with the IE8 is that you MAY have integrated it AFTER the RVM-Pack. nLite has REAL HEARTBURN with the MediaPlayer EXE files because the are Multi-Version Updates (includes MP9/MP10/MP11 in ONE SINGLE EXE).AND as for the "WindowsMedia11-KB939683-x86-ENU.EXE" - if you look at -X- website you'll find that it was Superseded and should NOT have been included! (ref my list of files). Start over again and do EXACTLY what I said and do NOT do ANYTHING any other way or use ANY other AddOns/UpdatePacks. Period! If need be I will gather EVERYTHING in the way of links, instructions, and SPECIFIC files to use. It shouldn't be necessary, though. Your mistake was using RVM (an Add-On style "glom") instead of -X- (direct injection per-file)!!! NOT to say the RVM-one is BAD, just that it does NOT consider IE7, IE8, MP10, or MP11. That's the reason for using THIS method, which DOES take them into consideration!
25. AHA!!!! I see! Explains a little about some "other" topics. Still, it would be nice to have a version without advertisements.
