FlashGet using the Site Explorer. Otherwise, in Internet Explorer (when available) "Tools->InternetOptions->Advanced" tick "Enable Folder View for FTP". With 2k3 and below (using IE6) this provides the FTP site in Explorer (Network Places) where you can Copy a whole folder to your HDD. You get the same result from FlashGet when you set the option to copy the folder structure - just go to the FTP site, make the Folder show up in the right-hand pan, right-clisk and "Download"......and a big Edit! Using MS method is SLOWWWW!!!! FlashGet is FASSSST! BTW, SOMETIMES, the FTP site is "down" as previously noted (very undependable).

Hmmm... one would assume the CONFIG.TXT is as follows - (using the one linked to by myselfidem...) This "setup.exe' is compatible with both OS', right? (you never even said what it is / where it's from...)

Which post SP3 updates will not integrate in the nLite ?
submix8c replied to aliceinchains's topic in nLite
That particular fix (KB975558) is one of several that has multiple WMP version updates in it. I've found that nLite has a little "heartburn" integrating these types. I've taken the alternate route of adding them manually (including the initial WMP11) into a RunOnce sequence (after First Logon) after nLite completes. Browse around here for a "how-to". edit - and a "hint" of the Command to use here. edot2 - DOH!!! See next post and try it... For the life of me, I can't remember why I chose the above route... -
Which Version? RTM or SP1? Probably not? I've found nothing at all for R2 in "User Contributed" and the pre-R2 is old (nearly 3 yrs old)... Have you tried this to get a list? (needs to be run against the installed OS, preferably a "New" install with AutoUpdate OFF to get a complete list). edit - DOH!!!! (see below) Win7 SP1 X64 (as noted in next post) also applies to Server 2K8 R2 (X64)

1 - It clearly states that it is a "fix". If you attempt to install a "Fix" for (e.g.) IE6, it won't install it. You need the IE6 package FIRST! I clearly stated that what you WANTED was the Redistributable, NOT a Fix!2 - "Social Media Thing"??? MS is trying to HELP you get what you REALLY want... Clicking on any of those links takes you to ANOTHER download... 3 - "Patience"? You ask and ask and ask. Sorry, but I see you as "complaining taker" that won't put any effort into their own project but want others to do the legwork for you (i.e. LAZY).(...and go back and look at the other posts/topics you made... you'll see what I mean) x - Learn how to "SEARCH" before asking someone to do it FOR you (which is what I initially did). On that note, I wish you joy in aggravating others that want to help you. I shall not. P.S. You might ALSO modify the Topic Titles with something like "[solved] Problem with YadaYada..." (is this one solved? how about the others? be kind to other peeps so they know a CURE exists therein...) edit - and I DO believe you were give the "simple" fix by another member.

??? You mean you want to format the partition that has win2k on it (to start "fresh"?If so , have you thought about doing it from the CD when you boot to it? It should work very much like XP, only "quick format" doesn't exist. Look here. ...and YES you can create a 4-floppy set to do that. P.S. Link I gave implies also using the CD's Command Console (and Format IS there...)

Download the attached and look at the contents to better understand some things... Compare to yours... The particular file in question pertains specifically to selections during "full download" (to tell IESETUP what it downloaded and has to work with). In your case, it's "empty" and is a COMPLETE set (the "default" when no other entries inside). edit - FYI, I have the last FULL IE6SP1 English... _save-D_VPC-98SE.zip
-
??? Not gonna happen! No drivers for that will EVER work on 9x! AFAIK, that's the case so you HAVE to disable OnBoard Sound and insert a an add-in card (NOT HD, of course).

My $.02... DO NOT allow Registry Cleaners to "clean" you registry UNLESS you know what they do/do-not "do". And make sure that ANY of the Softwares allow for BACKING UP the ORIGINAL settings/values BEFORE acting on them AND is able to RESTORE them in some manner. Likewise ANY "Tuners"...Three Rules for messing with an OS - 1 - Backup 2 - Backup 3 - Backup

The VC++2005 was an "update", not the full Redistributable. I gave you links based on "search". Look at the bottom of the 2005 link - clearly says "What Others Are Downloading" - and the link to the full Redistributable. VC++2008 contains (among other things) "msvcp90.dll" which obviously you did NOT need. You needed the VC++2005, of which I unintentionally gave you a link to an "update", "assuming" you understood that you needed a FULL package that specifically stated the module names (and they do, too). You should really pay attention to text (and READ it) in any links given and not assume that what you want/need is handed to you on a silver platter. At any rate, the UUP contained all of those and the VC++2010 modules (not to mention a whole gaggle of additional non-related files) as well. Note that "UU" stands for "Unofficial Updates" (a rather large download, compared to BOTH what I gave you AND the FIRST link tomasz86 gave to you). Whatever... edit (due to post already posted while I was making my post) - @blackwingcat - You really shouldn't bother (already gave links to SP1 Redistributables and a diatribe - see above...)

More info - no such thing as "burn" in VPC... all Read-Only.

Seriously? Here's my Google for the Visual C. Visual C++ 2005 Visual C++ 2008 Google VB VB6-SP6 For VB5 Google gave me VB3 thru VB6 links Right off the bat/top of the Google List! Google is your friend. Problem solved... Please note that the given links are DIRECTLY from Microsoft...

@NATO - First, you've been posting on old/older topics. Second - ONE PC - MULTI-BOOT!!!! I have 3 on mine.

You mean "Visual C" (in addition to Visual Basic). (the one you mentioned can be found in, e.g. "Visual C++ 2005" package) Highest VB's (AFAIK) go to v6. Try googling "Visual Basic Runtime" and "Visual C Runtime" (without quotes). OR do the search on MSdotCOM Downloads. VB and VC are two different softwares. You only want the Runtime modules. I'm not really sure what the "last" versions for Win2k would be, but chances are, the latest might work. (add Windows-2000 to your search). VC included/used-by VC2005/VC2008/dotNetv1.0+v1.1 (see here). These versions are the ones you probably want (the RUNTIME packages previously mentioned).

Wow! He already has the latest Chipset INF's (link provided by Ponch) and all of his drivers (granted, not the latest) are in his initial post (TouchPad/MOUSE!, etc). The previous posts gets the OP "going". which would also yield a list to get the "latest".(need more sleep, Fernando? )
-
@duffy98 - Interesting read and further links given.
-
...and they didn't so it's irrelevant. Also, please note that the Acer downloads include (separately) both AGP and USB drivers. I also note that having looked at the Chipset Driver that multiple Chipsets are listed. Not having downloaded the remainder of the drivers and inspected them, might I suggest that you do, unpack them (however - still try Universal Extractor which usually works), do a "search text" on them for each Device that you already have listed in Device Manager to get the specific INF's. This will only be necessary when there is more than one per "package". As you already found out, there could be more recent drivers than those on the Acer site.

Giant2011 - 102 Posts. If they keep it up they'll be an "Advanced Member" like you are... I'm not knocking your ability to assist (as in the previous post) but the fact that you've been a member since 09/2005 - you should know better by now.

Connecting a Windows 98 and Windows 7 through a network
submix8c replied to KelvinTwister's topic in Windows 9x/ME
@Multibooter - "major finding"??? Heck, I said it would work! I guess the "missing pieces" was some of the other posters comments (thank them as I couldn't remember). Now to "collect" it all into a single step-by-step post and Sticky it. -
re: WU - go to my previous post (the one before yours above). Side note: I don't believe you'll get "everything in one whack" as far as a "Pack". Don't attempt to "overlap" between different authors' Update Packs. It will hose your installation. Stick with OnePiece, tomasz86, or manually via "bristols link". Best bet, try one, go to WU and "list" missing; try the other, go to WU and "list" - then compare. Get missing from "bristols". Make "Final" go to WU and check again. You DO realize you're beating yourself up, don't you? Try tomasz86' method - he's usually right AND developing a brand spanky new pack, so he should know.
-
That would be the "Windows Update Agent" (AFAIK). Support for Win2K has been dropped, just like Win9x. This used to claim Windows 2000 but no longer does. I assume you're attempting to verify that you have all Fixes installed? edit - This one, however does... And it is listed on the "bristols" link.

Here (but 1.1 not included). However, scroll down to Post#9 for v1.1...

Old (pre-XP) PC games not working on 2000
submix8c replied to zanet's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
@tomasz86 - WinXP-style!!! -
(sigh...) If you look at the linked website under the column "Date" you'll find the REAL date. Do NOT trust MS "Date Published". Direct download (with FlashGet, which retains the FILE's Date) revealsSP4=06/20/2003 and the Rollup=08/16/2005. 1 - Download and Install FlashGet (FREE) 2 - Click the links to the "fixes" you want within the above link (bristols) 3 - Click "Download" and CANCEL it (STAY ON THE "THANK YOU" PAGE) 4 - In the "Thank You" page is another link ("if your download does not start...) 4a - RIGHT-CLICK and "Download Using FlashGet" (there will be a "where to download" as well) Voila! The REAL Date! IOW. the "Date Published" has NO correlation to the actual File Date! P.S. You're mixing OnePiece with tomasz86 Rollups - they are DIFFERENT! Tomasz86 is suggesting using HIS! You are the one bringing up OnePiece (an entirely different person and project). PLEASE just TRUST us!

First, you should search MSFN for any Add-Ons (see the SEARCH button at the top? click the "gear" next to it for Advanced Search). They can be "slipped" just like a HotFix, i.e. NOT put in "RunOnce". It all depends on what you want install where you put it (e.g. Office is not "slipstreamed", but put into "runonce") as some software will not "slipstream". Second, read this thoroughly (under "Advanced")... and Look here for a "hint" about nLite and RunOnce. @#$%^&!!!!!!!! And Ponch pointed you to the Unattended Guide already!!!! The info as to "where" is there already!!!! Try reading it. edit - forgot to mention - if you created a "silent installer", try searching for how to make it into an add-on (it's not that hard). There's even a "silent add-on maker" mentioned. ...and right there under sub-forum "add-ons" is Adobe Flash...
