  1. Doesn't look that radically different... Same method should apply.
  2. WSUS 3.0 SP2 (KB972455)? Doesn't that still "install" via WSUS and not allow for "manual"/standalone? MBSA does the same (similar) type of thing when you install it...edit - do you mean this? (more) Google translate. Absolutely no "standalone" available. It would have to be "captured"... SOMEWHERE there must be a "direct link"... More info. edit - somebody fudge-built an installer... edit - apparently 3 CABS get downloaded? A CMD can be used to install. AND... is this just good for Vista/Windows7??? What I have FOUND appears to be just an Update of the 3 CABS... (not a complete package).
  3. Errr... then you must have installed the Intel Wireless as well??? http://www.mydigitallife.info/fix-thinkpad-wireless-adapter-radio-turns-off-randomly-issue/ More info - http://ccit.college.columbia.edu/knowledgebase/article/how-manage-wireless-lenovo-laptops.php Also, for the Install, I must assume you read this first - You really need to check out the ReadMe's and Instructions.BTW, you DID install All of the other Drivers as well? Chipset (etc)? Chipset has Core, IDE, and USB Drivers.
  4. Still... one might question how you integrated the v206.99 drivers. The oldest I could find that came close to what you "probably" have is Forceware v197.75 (all files in one folder). It would STILL require a separate operation to install nView, otherwise you STILL (AFAICT) get the "Basic driver" UNLESS you actually ran the Setup program somehow...
  5. Here's an oddball - I found this, installed in on an XP-SP3 (the x86 one) in VPC and is seemed to work. (wuapi.dll "7.6.7600.243") DOH! You beat me!!!
  6. That's what we have been TRYING to tell you all along! ..and as far as the OTHER one mentioned Not really... The set you are getting contains 2 help files and "7zsplit" - the remainder are EXACTLY like the "Extra" package. Read this - In other words, there is SPECIFICALLY an x86 and an x64 version. "All" means ALL methods (EITHER an x86 OR x64). The "Basic" one (first download "7zsd") is EXACTLY "7zsd_LZMA.sfx" that's inside the package. THAT one is JUST 32-bit for LZMA method (which you have been TRYING to do). The "Tools" one is just the COMPLETE package, OK???...and do the Create of the SFX.EXE the way I showed you (the "copy" command). Can I assume that your Windows7 AND WindowsXP are BOTH x86??? edit - In MY example, I used the BETA version from the link given to you. AND the suggestion given above MIGHT be your problem! You MUST use the CORRECT MSIEXEC for the METHOD YOU BUILT THE MSI PACKAGE!!!! You CANNOT build an MSI with a NEWER version and Install it using an OLDER MSIEXEC! note: use the "7zsplit" program on your "built" EXE - see if you REALLY have it built correctly. Again, Works fine for me (x86)...

  9. YOINKS! Recheck your BIOS settings... Perhaps "Legacy USB Keyboard Support"?
  10. OOOO-TAY! Spanky!!! You need to go to the link I gave and RE-CHOOSE for your SPECIFIC model - the Atheros Driver is THERE! As well as the ATI, and PROBABLY the "Unknown" (and probably a few other items). I'm betting you went for the "Generic T42". When you go to the link I provide, on the LEFT side, select "Drivers And Software", enter "T42" (NOT "T-42"), then select you MODEL number "2373" in the list below. VOILA! Everything is there. BTW, there's no indication of which one is "unknown" in your Report. Go get ALL of your Drivers, Software, etc for Win 98 (might I suggest you get ALL OS and download to an independent folder for each in case you Upgrade) and attempt to Install anything you did NOT install. ("Windows Updates" listed at the bottom are more than likely irrelevant...)
  11. Not sure what you mean by that. The Drivers are in the Package as well as the nView software (Multiple Screen Support). There is a "Setup" program in the Root folder that should install anything/everything you need but you would have to Install via RunOnce after First Boot GUI (whatever...). I'm not sure about PhysX (see this). I also note that there's an HDAudio folder(?) and an Update folder. It appears that this Package is to support the latest Cards. We don't know which card you have. I'm inclined to believe that you have one of the older cards of the series. In folder "Display.Driver" are just the Drivers. The Package can be "unpacked" using WinRar, Universal Extractor, or 7-Zip. ...as Yzöwl said... but if you want to go ahead, just use the Drivers for basic functionality (no nView software, etc.) 301.42-desktop_contents.txt
  12. What do you mean? "Administrative" selection as in WSUS (i.e. MBSA) or "Microsoft Update Catalog? Many things have changed. MS Update Catalog is entirely different than the old days. MBSA could be downloaded and used BUT the "Modified Dates" will be as-of downloaded.BTW, you can "disable" Microsoft Update ActiveX (actually "uninstalls" it" to "revert" to Windows Update) by selecting in "Change Settings" to use ONLY "Windows Update".
  13. If you mean actually USING "Windows Update" you are dreaming a long-dead fantasy. See this. Windows Update for Win9x/WinME (and AFAIK) Windows 2000 and older is long-gone. Your only option is here on MSFN and the links therein.
  14. 1 - Install Clean 2 - Go to WU "Custom" 3 - Get the List 4 - Find it in MS.COM and download it (use Downloader to retain the Modified Date) 5 - Install last downloaded oldest-to-newest 6 - Repeat from Step#2 until no more show 7 - Check KB's for whether one superseded another - move supersede to elsewhere 8 - Install Clean 9 - Install "scrubbed of superseded" oldest-to-newest 10 - Go to WU "Custom" 11 - If none show, Done! else (krap!) repeat 12 - Keep track from now on @5eraph - sound right to you?
  15. I like this one better -
  16. These Drivers?
  17. ? why do you have a CMD???
  18. Have you been installing ALL of your drivers? http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-55386 It has the CardBus Controller listed. T42 has subseries - what is yours? Atheros 5211 is made under multiple vendors/subtypes. I have found a "supposed" driver for it but can't confirm it's the right one. ATI Driver might be fine (but kinda doubt it). Now... in Everest there should be a "Devices" tree on the left, and underneath that "PCI Devices". Print the Report of that ONLY, zip/rar/7zip/cab (whatever) it and attach it so we can get to the bottom of the SPECIFIC devices you're missing drivers for (after Cardbus, only the two?).
  19. followup to -X-'s post - Don't delete ANYTHING! IEv6 and WMPv9 are part of the XP Install already! All Updates you "downloaded" are necessary! Anything in "footnotes" or any other posts on WMP10 or ANYTHING above/beyond Basic XP are considered 'Extra Add-Ons". And before you ask... Flash Player IS provided on your "original CD" (i.e. NOT "extra/add-on") and MUST/should be updated with the Adobe Flash Player Update! -X- Updates are solely for anything ALREADY in the I386 Folder. Integrate along with that your Drivers and you are Installed, Up-To-Date, but WITHOUT Extras/Add-Ons. side note - and YES! DotNet is an Add-on! (Notice it in a separated CD Folder?)
  20. I note that you've been a member since 2007 and have jumped from Vista->7->8 and... what? Nobody's knocking your point, but maybe you should go to Linux and post there as a fanboy instead.I consider the post a troll due to... please reread your post. If you're the "same ColdFlo" found via Google, yes, you are rather opinionated... Do yourself a favor... Free Your Mind!
  21. @PROBLEMCHYLD - Vee know vhat vee are doing, don't vee? (BWAHAHAH!) Thanks for the updates, all!

Rename to ISO and burn... edit - "BurnToDisk" has nothing to do with nLite.
  23. Digital River - a Wave1 "Refresh". or... http://news.softpedia.com/news/Windows-7-SP1-RTM-Release-Notes-186308.shtml http://news.softpedia.com/news/Get-Windows-7-SP1-RTM-Free-from-Microsoft-200160.shtml Still, there MUST be a Wave1 Refresh. One might assume that the source is DigitalRiver?
  24. This is the instructions for Win98 Package. The same applies to the OTHER package. The first "set" of "missing" modules you should have been able to "point to". The second "set" of "missing" modules should be in folder "1ga241ww\SMAXWDM\SE" and should also be able to "point to". Any other files installed from the "package" will be (e.g.) a "SoundMax Control Panel". BTW, when you FIRST installed there should have been some kind of "unknown device" listed at least...
