  1. under a VM you can't get Aero Glass working only under a real PC
  2. you've removed Windows SAT (Performance Index), so Vista can decide if your PC has the power to display Aero Glass. right click on Computer->Properties->Go to advanced settings and click the first button and try to set the checkbox "Use transparency".
  3. replace the file inside the WIM and after reinstalling the new DLL is used automatically after installing Vista.
  4. no, WindowsUpdate checks for the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\vLite to see if your Vista was edited by vLite to avoid unsuccessful installations of the Sp1 over WU.
  5. perhaps. But for me I have to keep it.
  6. I've also tried it with my old Creative Soundblaster Live! and it also happend with this PCI card.
  7. I must keep MMCS or sound hangs under higher cpu load. I'm using a onbaord Via Soundchip.
  8. the pending.xml is located inside the WinSxS folder.
  9. 1. you can use the regedit from your running OS. 2. what do you mean with your second question?
  10. mount the image to a folder, than start regedit and select File->Load Hive and select the software or system file under "mountdir\windows\system32\config\", now make the changes and unload the hive. Now unmount and commit the changes to the WIM.
  11. Does this method works correctly for you?
  12. there are error messages inside the LOG: 2008-05-13 18:43:17, Error CSI 0000000d@2008/5/13:16:43:17.976 (F) d:\rtm\base\wcp\componentstore\csd_winners.cpp(968): Error STATUS_SXS_TRANSACTION_CLOSURE_INCOMPLETE originated in function OriginateFilesMissingError expression: (null) [gle=0x80004005] 2008-05-13 18:43:21, Error CSI 0000000e (F) STATUS_SXS_TRANSACTION_CLOSURE_INCOMPLETE #2570428# from CCSDirectTransaction::PerformChangeAnalysis(...)[gle=0xd0150024] 2008-05-13 18:43:21, Error CSI 0000000f (F) STATUS_SXS_TRANSACTION_CLOSURE_INCOMPLETE #2570427# from CCSDirectTransaction::PrepareForCommit(...)[gle=0xd0150024] 2008-05-13 18:43:21, Error CSI 00000010 (F) STATUS_SXS_TRANSACTION_CLOSURE_INCOMPLETE #2570426# from CCSDirectTransaction::ExamineTransaction(...)[gle=0xd0150024] 2008-05-13 18:43:21, Error CSI 00000011 (F) STATUS_SXS_TRANSACTION_CLOSURE_INCOMPLETE #2570425# from CCSDirectTransaction_IRtlTransaction::ExamineTransaction(...)[gle=0xd0150024] 2008-05-13 18:43:21, Info CSI 00000012 Changelist winner missing files - Microsoft-Windows-TabletPC-SnippingTool, Version = 6.0.6000.16386, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_INTEL (0), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral [1:[l:32{16}]"SnippingTool.exe"[1]"]" 2008-05-13 18:43:21, Error CSI 00000013@2008/5/13:16:43:21.751 (F) d:\rtm\base\wcp\componentstore\csd_winners.cpp(968): Error STATUS_SXS_TRANSACTION_CLOSURE_INCOMPLETE originated in function OriginateFilesMissingError expression: (null) [gle=0x80004005] 2008-05-13 18:43:24, Error CSI 00000014 (F) STATUS_SXS_TRANSACTION_CLOSURE_INCOMPLETE #2592244# from CCSDirectTransaction::PerformChangeAnalysis(...)[gle=0xd0150024] 2008-05-13 18:43:24, Error CSI 00000015 (F) STATUS_SXS_TRANSACTION_CLOSURE_INCOMPLETE #2592243# from CCSDirectTransaction::PrepareForCommit(...)[gle=0xd0150024] 2008-05-13 18:43:24, Error CSI 00000016 (F) STATUS_SXS_TRANSACTION_CLOSURE_INCOMPLETE #2592242# from CCSDirectTransaction::GenerateComponentChangeList(...)[gle=0xd0150024] 2008-05-13 18:43:24, Error CSI 00000017 (F) STATUS_SXS_TRANSACTION_CLOSURE_INCOMPLETE #2592241# from Windows::COM::CPendingTransaction::ExtractInformationFromRtlTransaction(...)[gle=0xd0150024] 2008-05-13 18:43:24, Error CSI 00000018 (F) HRESULT_FROM_WIN32(ERROR_SXS_TRANSACTION_CLOSURE_INCOMPLETE) #2567045# from Windows::COM::CPendingTransaction::IStorePendingTransaction_Analyze(...)[gle=0x8007371b] 2008-05-13 18:43:24, Error CSI 00000019 (F) HRESULT_FROM_WIN32(ERROR_SXS_TRANSACTION_CLOSURE_INCOMPLETE) #2566356# from Windows::ServicingAPI::CCSITransaction::ICSITransaction_Commit(Flags = 47 (0x0000002f), pSink = NULL, disp = disp, coldpatching = FALSE)[gle=0x8007371b] 2008-05-13 18:43:24, Error CSI 0000001a (F) HRESULT_FROM_WIN32(ERROR_SXS_TRANSACTION_CLOSURE_INCOMPLETE) #2566355# 7419990 us from Windows::ServicingAPI::CCSITransaction_ICSITransaction::Commit(flags = 0x0000002f, pSink = NULL, disp = 0) [gle=0x8007371b] 2008-05-13 18:43:24, Error CBS Exec: Failed to pend CSI transaction because transactions cannot be merged: 0. hr: 0x8007371b Now nuhi must take a look at it.
  13. you have to start vLite with the following paramater to see WU: vLite.exe -extreme
  14. you can mount the WIM with imageX and load the offline registry hive with regedit and change the registry settings. After doing this, unload the software hive and commit the changes to the WIM. If this is too complicated, you can use WPI to import the registry settings.
  15. with Visual Studio 2008 Sp1 nuhi can tell vLite to use a new client Version of .net which is smaller than the whole framework. Until the Sp1 is released you can use your smaller runtime.
  16. you must enter a valid VLK to continue the setup of this XP Version. Only Retail and OEM Versions allow you the skip entering a valid key and run XP in a 30 day trial mode.
  17. Hi, please open the file "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log" and look for the correct error message and post this message here, BUT NOT the full log, because the file is to large!
  18. Updates for Vista are language independent.
  19. you can use TakeControl (tool from XPero) to ake ownership of the files.
  20. please try the 1.1.6 Final and not the RC
  21. why do you want to integrate 800 drivers? Try only to include drives you really need!
  22. start vLite and change the Temp folder under options.
  23. so you're using C:\Windows\temp as your temp folder? This should be ok. Could you please post a screenshot and your last session.ini?
  24. ok, so Business is the best for you
  25. I also have this sometimes under VPC. If you want a fast VM Tool you should take a look at VirtualBox
