  1. this was right for Windows XP and IE. Because you are running an account with admin rights. That's why I moved in 2003/4 to FireFox (Phoenix as it was called at this days). With Vista, the IE runs in a sandbox with LowRights (protected mode) and so you can only write to special Registry folders and file locations (LocalLow). And with IE8 all tabs are isolated in a new process. With FF I often have the issue, that one tab can cause the whole FF to crash And the FF has lots of memory leaks. If Ms would integrate a cool and easy theme and extension platform I would switch back to IE, so I have to stay with FF because of some of some important extensions I use (AdblockPLus, NoScript, GreaseMonkey, AutoCopy, BBCode and some more).
  2. could you please post the log file?
  3. the window content is only live when the application is in background and NOT minimized! The is also in Windows Vista.
  4. @TheSickman Enabling the IIS ftp feature fails. Try it without changing the feature.
  5. yes: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7...l-controls.aspx
  6. no, if you want domain join support you have to use Windows 7 Professional. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7...omain-join.aspx
  7. Windows 7 Home Premium
  8. yeah, I've tried it with Firefox, but it was not possible to get the Firefox working correctly. I would switch directly to IE if it would have an easy theme and extension support. This is the only reason I stay at Firefox. But MS is still failing to see this for IE9 Direct2D rendering is nice, but the normal average joe doesn't care about it. He wants different themes and new additions and in an very easy way as it was done in Firefox.
  9. why do you want to remove IE? IE in Vista/7 is great when using UAC, because it runs in protected mode (sandbox).
  10. that's the original location of the command prompt. The file you see in C:\Windows\System32 is just a link (hardlink) from the original file inside the WinSxS folder. Use the Tool Link Shell Extension (LSE) to see which files are hardlinks.
  11. compress it and upload it to a 1Clickhoster like RS, megashare or zippyshare and post the link here or send it in a PM to cluberti.
  12. @DigitalNomad try to compress it with 7zip as a 7z archive with Ultra compression.
  13. yes, same program, but new thread.
  14. please run ProcessMonitor in background and look which error you get when WinIntegrator ties to mount the image.
  15. what's your temp folder? Today a new version is released on the SkyDrive from Stefan. Try this version.
  16. yeah, but why is the ImageMaster tool removed from CodePlex?
  17. my fix works. It is included in the Tool from XPero. You can use it and it will work.
  18. The takeown /grant command uses localized names for the groups. On an English windows it is administrators. On a German Windows the name of the group administrators is Administratoren. Use the following fix I've submitted to XPero's tool "TakeControl": http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=667868 This will work for all languages.
  19. try this tool: http://www.msfn.org/board/6-t136104.html
  20. MS stole source code of an GPLv2 application called ImageMaster http://www.withinwindows.com/2009/11/06/mi...oft-store-tool/
  21. don't use vLite to integrate. Use the reverse integration method http://www.msfn.org/board/2-t134783.html
  22. the Backup folder belongs to Windows Resource Protection. WRP is the new name for Windows File Protection (WFP) known from XP. Why do you want to delete it? You can limit the amount of used space: start Group Policy editor (gpedit.msc) and avigate the policy tree to Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Windows File Protection. In the right-hand pane, double-click the item named Limit Windows File Protection cache size. Set its status to Enabled, and fill in the desired cache-size limit in megabytes
  23. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion slmgr.vbs /dlv shows you the version of your software licensing service.
  24. Hi Helge, this is an English board. Please only write in English (German: Hallo Helge, msfn ist ein englisches Forum, bitte schreib nur in Englisch!)
  25. keep Manual Install and try again. But remember, this build is so old and not features complete. If you like this build install it, without vLiting, in a VM (with time set back to year 2008 and time sync to host disabled)
