  1. Hi Tim, great to hear this Have fun now with Windows 7 now André
  2. Which error message do you see in the DISM.log under C:\Windows\Logs?

  4. I've disabled the VDM system for years now: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\AppCompat VDMDisallowed (DWORD) = 1 and I'm now only using DOSDox. This works fine and also brings "DOS" back to x64 Windows Version. Btw, the x64 Windows Versions are save, because they can't run 16Bit code any longer.
  5. @syobon999 wrong! You don't understand the impact of DEP, ASLR, Protected Mode to secure IE. IE7/8 are much more secure than Firefox on NT6.x when Protected Mode is on. @galahs no, you can only remove the application, the Trident HTML Engine is still included, so that applications can still use them.
  6. Internet Explorer is a standalone application since Windows Vista Explorer and Internet Explorer are now 2 applications which are not mixed. And with Windows 7 MS moved the IE into an own Package, where you can configure (enable, disable, remove) IE.
  7. @Fernando No, it also integrates Sp2 in Vista. @grabben use a clean MS ISO with integrated SP1. If you use a Vista with Sp1 which was slipstreamed with vLite, you'll damage your install.wim. When you install the Vista it is broken and not installable. All other ones fail. This is why MS disabled the slipstream option. It only works if you have a clean DVD with Sp (n-1) (where n is the SP you want to integrate. For Sp1 you can use a clean RTM (Sp0) disc, for Sp2 you need a Vista Sp1 DVD).
  8. IE7/8 are more secure. IE8 used DEP by default and IE7/8 were coded following the SDL guidelines and uses the new secure VC++ functions, which replaces the old insecure C functions ( http://msdn.microsoft.com/de-de/library/wd...ts(VS.80).aspx). Ie6 is one of the worst coded and insecure software ever. UPDATE AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!
  9. install IE8 and all updates, whether you use the IE or not.
  10. Hi, what was wrong? I was unable to visit the site on January 17th. 1 time, the page didn't load and the second time, I was offered to download a file
  11. You fail to mount the boot.wim. Run the DISM Cleanup command and try again.

  15. You can't integrate KB947821! ONLY run this update if you can't install new Updates!
  16. You can take a look at this: http://winjade.net/2008/06/custom-explorer-buttons/ But I don't know if it also applies to Windows 7 too.
  17. run BootVis and make a shutdown trace. What do you see?
  18. the generic OEM key. Don't waste your key for useless activations. Only use your key, when you change your hardware and the auto activation is broken.
  19. use the key you got from mjkb and copy the OEMCERT.xrm-ms to your $OEM$\$$\SYSTEM32\OEM folder on the DVD
  20. no, you don't need to reinstall. Your Windows contains a generic OEM SLP Key which autoactivates your OEM Windows on your OEM hardware. The key on the sticker is your personal key.
  21. same like in Vista. Search the vista forum how to do it.
  22. this is ok. Please delete the wimgapi.dll from the Win Integrator folder and start it again.
  23. compress the etl into a RAR or 7z file and upload it. If you have a LiveID, upload the file to your Skydrive and post the link here.
  24. Have you installed the Windows AIK for Windows 7? It looks like you have used the WIMGAPI.dll from Vista WAIK.
