  1. To finally get mine to work right I deleted all the values in the following registry key: \ControlSet001\Control\TimeZoneInformation 1. load setupreg.hiv in regedit under HKLM 2. name it PESYSTEM 3. navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\PESYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\TimeZoneInformation 4. delete all values 5. unload setupreg.hiv 6. rebuild your iso HTH For me it reads the information off of my pc.
  2. What are you trying to do? Start networking alone or with Factory to connect to do some installs? If you are trying to use this as a recovery tool and want to be able to cannect to a remote machine or the internet your statnet.cmd should look like this: regsvr32 /s netcfgx.dll factory -minint netcfg -v -winpe net start dhcp net start nla
  3. I have never added IE, But I know Kmeleon works with ease, I just grab all the neccessary files and make an self extractable exe, then script it to expand to a Ramdisk, 7zip works well for that.
  4. Last time I checked the iso could not be greater that 4GB, but they may have been improved upon.
  5. Seems round #2 was good to me also.
  6. How are you adding this folder? Just drap and drop will corrupt the boot image and that may be why you are not able to boot. You have to use either the cmd line tool provided by MS or another tool like UltraISO, I believe UltraISO works if not someone else correct me, as I don't use it, I just use oscdimage.
  7. What does your batch file for installing look like? There are a few exampes here in the forums, and yes you should make local source on a seperate partition. It just makes life simpler, or you can install from a UNC path.
  8. From experiences of others, if you have programs you use in 1.5 some MAY not be compatible anymore. I know of a few people who's programs were not able to work anymore. Just as always test test test first. HTH
  9. I have had bad luck using 32bit programs to flash the bios. Just 2 weeks ago one at the big one. I would check them with PE/DOS then use a DOS boot disk or boot cd to flash it. Just my .02
  10. There is an OPK for windows 2000 from MS, it is older but if all you are looking for a minimal bootable recovery CD then this is fine, but if you are looking to get something like BartPe from it you will be disappointed. I am not saying it cannot be done, as it sure can with a lot of work, but I am not to familiar with the Win2K OPK. HTH
  11. Sorry it took so long, but the main issue with dual booting PE XP is the active disk, You just need to have a program/script launch diskpart and change the active partition, as you can hide PE from XP by putting the ID to 12, hidden. Here is a sample code for the script: DiskPart /s changeactivepartition1.txt Sel vol c Inactive Sel vol d Active Exit If you need more info PM as I am hardly around anymore. HTH
  12. You can do all of this from diskpart in a fairly easy fashion. EASY way Write a simple batch that ask's what size you want your partition to be via predefined values, or write a VBS which will make a diskpart script for you, save it to a ram drive or the like, then run the selected script and format the drive to end the batch.
  13. If your PECD was built on a SP2 computer and then you either are trying to edit it on another SP2 PC or a re-imaged/Formatted one then it will not work, I don't know why but it won't, MS has no idea either(supposedly). Anyhow you can still use a XP SP1 and earlier to edit the registry, you can see what I mean when you load the hives and some of the larger key sets error out. So your options are #1 Rebuild - Always a good option #2 Use a Pre SP2 PC I have only tried XP and 2000. HTH EDIT BTW can you please attach the list of files in a txt file or something, if not remove it completely, annoying to scroll through.
  14. You don't need them to add the Ramdrive to PE the way that is posted. The files you mention are on the WinPE OPK CD or in your build directory, if you lost your CD call MS and get new one or buy a new 3-pack.
  15. This is a bit off topic but atleast you got yours to boot PE, we had 3 or so that were lame ducks!
  16. Read the thread I posted in your last question on this. It states where to get the ramdrv.sys file from.
  17. Read here: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...ndpost&p=129314
  18. Sorry forgot to mention that, we use a script that prompts the user at the end to remove the disc before the reboot happens.
  19. Delete the bootfix.bin file from the image and it will autoboot from CD, just like XP etc.
  20. //EDIT// This is the WinPE 1.2 P/N: X08-33945 The version of 2004 I have is X10-90199EN HTH
  21. Try copying the bootsect.dat to a floppy or networkhsare and then copy the contents of your I386 from WinPe CD to C:\minint, copy bootsec.dat to the root of C:, install XP on your second partition, the boot.ini will be on the C: then edit it accordingly. I am not 100% sure it would work, but the files for XP would be on C: so PE should boot fine. I have not tried this though.
  22. You can download the trial of XPe and get it, the only version I was able to find was the DOS vrsion, no pretty GUI.
  23. GData AVK 2004/2005. BD and Kaspersky engines and only 27MB of ram usage for dual engines! Also another VB100 in FEB05.
