  1. Hello all. I cannot seem to get the updates to run from the SVCPACK.INF file anymore since updating my unattend with the SP3 slipstream. Here is what the inf looks like. I doublechecked and the SVCPACK.IN_ is not present in the i386 folder. ;Windows XP [Version] Signature="$Windows NT$" MajorVersion=5 MinorVersion=1 BuildNumber=2600 [setupData] CatalogSubDir="\i386\SVCPACK" [ProductCatalogsToInstall] [setupHotfixesToRun] KB950760.exe /q /n /z qchain.exe
  2. Shark. Thanks for trying but I already have the install. I don't need to download it because I already have it. I'm looking for someone with experience deploying WDS who may have dealt with the WDS taskbar toolbar removal. Thanks anyway If a download URL was included with this request I may have had a look at it for you. All i can find is v3.01 and its available for 4 different operating systems in 4 different downloads. I've already wasted more time on this than I care to. shark
  3. Is there any way to install WDS 3.0 (latest version) without the taskbar toolbar being enabled by default? It always enables for the currently logged on user. We have to install it with Office 2007 to enable the instant search in Outlook 2007. I can't find an enterprise version for 3.0 like they had previously. We are pushing it out with SMS. Thanks
  4. Is it just me or is this way more complicated and harder than the XP updates? Shouldn't it get easier. I long for the svcpack.ini file.
  5. Thanks for the help. I said the first thing you quoted but not the second. That was OP. I am doing unattends. So if I run my Runoncex.cmd like I have setup for XP in <FirstLogonCommands>, do I also run the start /wait rundll32.exe iernonce.dll,RunOnceExProcess in the <FirstLogonCommands> or where do I call that. Thanks again for the help. I'm just starting to unattend Vista and am to the point where I need to put in the custum applications and I like the way it looked in XP. shinscreen
  6. Thanks for the information. Could you tell me when and where to call this command?
  7. Could you elaborate a little more. I'd really like the same thing but am unclear on your instructions. Thanks
  8. Fiddle Sticks. I guess that I could boot the Windows XP CD from RIS?
  9. From time to time we have to run a repair install on a machine that has lost its lunch. Does anyone know how to kick off a Windows XP PRO repair install from within PE. This would eliminate the need to have the XP CD with us to run the repair install. I run WINPE from RIS off the network.
  10. I had this problem with the "Starting Network" hanging on our Dell GX 150 PCs with 3com nic on board. I had to go into the BIOS and set the IRQ for the nic to be different than any other device and that go it past the "Starting Network" hang.
  11. If you have another computer, just copy it from there. but if you can't boot from cd, how going to put it back.
  12. Excellent. This is perfect. Thanks alot gadget!
  13. I am working on my HTA menu and have a button that I want to use to reboot the PC. However, I cannot get shutdown.exe to work. I am using PE 2005 with Server 2003 SP1. Is there any other way to tell PE to reboot. I am starting my HTA with the startnet.cmd and am killing pskill.exe smss.exe pskill.exe winlogon.exe so that I can exit the startnet.cmd without it rebooting. Ideas?
  14. I figured it OUT! I had a meta jobbie in there that my HTML editor was adding. <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> I took this out and it worked just fine!
