  3. welcome people!! "keep on keepin' on" -joe dirt (my one and only role model)
  4. Cisco kinda sux man. You have to be a super nerd to get the darn things set up. I too would go for linksis. I have had gread luck with them!!!
  5. Welcome guy... that clown kinda creeps me out man. But welcome anyways
  6. If you cant do a repair with the sp1 disk, take the contents of the disk and slipstream sp2 onto it, and then burn a new disk and use that for the repair. Its worth a try. This link will show you how to do this: http://www.unattended.msfn.org/beginner/sl...ream.htm#manual
  7. Nice trick, Im gunna have to try that one out!!! I could freak my mom out for sure!!!
  8. I think you can do this with nlite with the "tweaks" section. I could be wrong though
  9. It would prbably be eaisier just to make a batch file that runs all that stuff, along with the other batch file. This would be much easier than to make an .exe, Give it a try!!
  10. Your hard drive has a backup image of everything. It is not completely deleted (unless you format it), so there is hope. Unfortunately it can be pretty risky unless you really know what your doing, and I dont . Some super genius out here can help you though, so dont give up
  11. I think that windows searches for integrated updates in the svcpack.inf file. That is where the updates and the catolog files are entered when you use the /integrate method. I think you can just remove an update from that file, as well as from the svcpack folder and then windows will ignore it. Try that out Edit: There is a good guide that explains the svcpack.inf method of installing updates here: http://unattended.msfn.org/beginner/hotfix/svcpack.htm
  12. Check out RunOnceEx.cmd Looks nicer when installing (it has a window instead of the batch window way...) Im a fan check it out here http ://unattended.msfn.org/intermediate/me...onceex.htm
  13. Check this out. This is the way I did it, worked just fine: http://unattended.msfn.org/advanced/cosmetics/theme.htm
  14. kaje ovo, I think you just need to change yours from unattendedswitch to unattendswitch
  15. quotee, no, i got everything working. thanks though. I ended up just using a batch file containing the "net use" command. worked fine for what i needed bmn, Do you mean logging in to the domain??? If so, Try running regedit and navigating to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon] then change the value of "AutoAdminLogon"="1" from 1 to 0 should work just fine, also you could probably remove the string value containing the password.
  16. I am having the same troubles. I did a step by step creation of unatteneded XP pro, testing it after every step and I found that it worked fine after slipstreaming SP2 and making the install unattended, butit started having this problem after I integrated the hotfixes . I integrated hotfixes using RyanVM's pack , and integrated the newest ones that werent in the pack using the svcpack.inf method. Anyone out there know if this is caused by a certain hotfix, or have any ideas to fix this problem???? B)
  17. I used nLite to do most of those little tweaks. It seemed to work just fine for me to get rid of useless links like that. Giver a try!! B)
  18. would you mind showing me the content of the batch file you use??? Thanks much!!!
  19. Thanks guys I ended up using REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon] "DisableCAD"=dword:00000001 "AutoAdminLogon"="1" "DefaultPassword"="******" "DefaultDomainName"="CARS_NT_DOMAIN" "DefaultUserName"="administrator" "AltDefaultDomainName"="CARS_NT_DOMAIN" "AltDefaultUserName"="administrator" "CachePrimaryDomain"="CARS_NT_DOMAIN" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system] "legalnoticecaption"=- "legalnoticetext"=- "disablecad"=dword:00000001 This took care of my logging on as well as bypassing intro message issues. Thanks 4ur help
  20. Try this: Run regedit from your run command. navigate to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE]\software\microsoft\windows nt\current version\winlogon To enable it to automatically logon: -Change value of "AutoAdminLogon" to 1 -if "AutoAdminLogon" isnt there, just click edit, new, stringvalue then name the new string value "AutoAdminLogon" and set the value to 1. -Make sure the values "DefaultDomainName" and "DefaultUserName" are correct for your domain -make sure the value of "DefaultPassword" is set to the correct password -if "DefaultPassword" isnt there, click edit, new, stringvalue then name the new string value "DefaultPassword", and then enter the password that corresponds to the user -if you want to bypass the ctrl-alt-del when you logon, open up "DisableCAD" and set the value to 1. After you do this, it SHOULD automatically log you in to your domain with the user name and password you entered in regedit. The only thing that I havent been able to figure out is how to bypass the domain welcome screen that makes you click "OK" to move on. Any ideas on that???? Let me know if this works for you
  21. Thanks for the reply. Hopefully there is some super computer whiz out there that can help us
  22. I am creating an unattended install of windows, and applications. The applications are all stored on a server that is part of our domain. The only thing that is keeping my install from being completly unattended is fact that I have to log in to the domain after windows is installed before the apps can be installed form RunOnceEx. Any ideas on how to bypass the domain login just once Thanks much
