if simply zippng and unziping will do all these ,, whats the use of whole OS CD. It the matter of security, HAL, settings and personalizations.. simply your thinking is correct,, but this doesn't work. its different if u talk about the softwares like ghost, or acronis true image (sector by sector copying) but simply copying and pasting or zipping / unzipping is not the solution. For example: Unattended CD will work on any Hardware,, but zipped won't...
i have rebuild again.. again the same problem.. what i want is, it should copy my i386 folder to \\windows\backxp\i386 unattended and the best idea is to paste my same root i386 to my $oem$\$$\backxp\i386 so that it will make that folder during textmode setup to the desired location. i suspect,, it expands the files but didn't change the file name. but why ????
i am also facing the same problem,, i have installed the screensaver and also set the regfile to make it default but it isn't enabled,, is it true that desktop should be fully loaded to enable the screensaver..
lol,,, 10 GB,, it will take age to install all those,, have u tried optimize,, for the same traces of files... ? 10 GB is really a huge data just for UAXP USE Double sided, dual layer discs which can hold up to 17Gb of data.
This will solve ur problem.. Also u can modify ur sysdm.cpl as well Note: If u try to install the hotfix for sp1 will refuse to install after u make it SP2 or SP3,, It will say ,, ur os is newer or sth like that....
i have created UAXP CD to make the autobackup source (485 MB) i have kept same root i386 (485 MB) on "$OEM$\$$\backxp\i386\*.*" so that it will be copied to my "windows\backxp\i386\*.*" and i have created regfiles as which loads on runonce every thing went fine but later when i checked the CD "$OEM$\$$\backxp\i386" and the "windows\backup\i386" ,, it differs CD content is just 485 MB but "windows\backup\i386" is 945 MB then i checked one file E.g "sysdm.cp_"(555 KB) on CD i386 but found the same file "sysdm.cp_"(1455 KB) on "%systemroot%\\backupxp\\" i came to know that the CD sysdm.cp_ was compressed one and the "%systemroot%\\backupxp\\" was decompressed one but the file name was on compressed form What goes wrong in my process... how did it decompressed,, but the file extension remained the same as raw ? Either it should give exactly same file size and structure or should give correct file name and extension.. plz help
