hey guys. I went ahead and made an unattended cd with the rollup and a couple of apps. I used the CDImage for Windows XP Home / Windows XP Professional file to make the bootable iso image for xp pro. I mounted the image on Virtual PC and get the following error on the blue windows setup screen "PLEASE INSERT THE DISK LABELED WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL SERVICE PACK 1 CD INTO DRIVE A:" I used the i386 folder from a CD with SP1 slipstreamed. Any ideas? thkz

Activation Error "0x80004005" After Hotfixes
ceez replied to cxe's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
cxe, I was having the same problem, user kyberbob also had the same prob and he found the following: Apparently that update only applies to Windows Media Center, and if applied to good ol' XP it will give you that error. I checked my batch and files, I had applied it. I believe kyberbob tried the batches w/out it and did not get any errors...I myself havent bothere with it again. So it has nothing to do with either a legal or "borrowed" copy from billy boy! ps- you do have that update on your batch -
dont hate becuase you're team is not in the finals! it's all good, not everyone is a fan. go marlins!
-

Marlins just beat out the Cubs for a 3 game comeback!!! Congratulations to the Marlins!!! So who is it gonna be? Marlins vs Sox Marlins vs Yanks

at 99 cents a song doesnt sound that bad, but 50 cents would be better! I really dont care for the pretty color pages of a store bought CD or the pretty graphics on the front of the CD itself.....It's not like you can see the CD in your player, and the pretty paper, well who cares...as long as you have the music. Having CDR's at home is regular thing nowadays, people might not see it as an extra cost. Maybe the convenience of not even having to get out of your house to buy the CD, in just a few minutes you'll have the CD in your hand....and you didnt even have to get dressed!!! ) But I do agree that maybe a monthly unlimited fee of 20 bucks would be a better idea.

Zup peeps. I just wanted to know if anyone knows of a reg tweek or cmd that would map my documents to a share drive ie "Z:\username" and to have MS Word default to that "Z:\username" drive too. Maybe run something at startup like a batch file would prob be good too. thkz in advance, ceez

zup peeps, I remember reading a post in which someone explained how to use the xcopy command to copy files from a directory in 1 pc, and then have those copied to a network drive. I tried tinkering with the xcopy command but have no luck, I even tried a simple test xcopy c:\source c:\destination when I run the cmd it just scrolls all the way down the screen non stop. C:\Documents and Settings\Ceez.WINXP\Desktop>xcopy c:\source c:\dest C:\Documents and Settings\Ceez.WINXP\Desktop>xcopy c:\source c:\dest C:\Documents and Settings\Ceez.WINXP\Desktop>xcopy c:\source c:\dest C:\Documents and Settings\Ceez.WINXP\Desktop>xcopy c:\source c:\dest and nothing is copied from the folders. Does anyone remember that post or can tell me how to make a batch file to copy files from 1 pc 2 another? thkz peeps

b0r3d, awesome, thkz....just a few quick q's... is there a way to add a password with the user name? can I create one line with username/password/group. and... instead of typing each line for each user, is there a way that I can have the users/pw stored in another file and have the commands pull all the info for each user and create them...else it would be the same as doing through admin tools....but w/less typing. thkz again.

hey there peeps, I have an issue here. I have 4 xp pc's all with the same exact software installed. All of a sudden I need to create 20 profiles, and I am in a workgroup. I created the profiles in one machine. I dont want to have to retype everything again everytime i create in the other 3 pc's. If I go into documents and settings, copy all the user folders, paste them in the server, then copy them from the server to the other pc's doc and settings folders, would the users be created? if anyone knows of this please reply asap...i am at the site right now....argh! thkz ceez

but i dont think that I had a virus, oh well.
-
then use the batch file in the unattended CD to install all the patches after installation of OS is complete.
