  1. I'd go for the canned air, should do the job just fine.
  2. My vote is for VMware as well. I'm with Zxian, don't really need audio within VMware myself. I think it has many great options and is good for networking.
  3. MSDN is where I got my copy.
  4. Woohooo! We have 1! I'm with ya there computerMan. Rock On!
  5. Do you admin rights on this machine? You should be able to change properties of folders/files w/o a problem. It almost sounds like something is still using those files and they are in use which is why can't change the attribs? I use Office 2003 as well and haven't even seen anything like this. Can you 'Repair' the install ?
  6. On the XP machine, in windows explorer. Tools > Options > View Tab > Uncheck 'Use Simple File Sharing'. Make sure you can ping the router, dns server and the 2003 machine. You may want to setup shares, do this through the console in admin tools. Be sure on the network connction of the XP machine you also have file 'File and Printer' sharing enabled. Be sure the Server & Workstation services are also set to manual.
  7. Still not working Gouki? Have you called Acer or the place where you bought it ????
  8. Wow... none out there huh. Can't believe that.
  9. I agree... sounds like a sector of the disk may have gotten corrupted when the power was cut. Check for diag utilities on the manufacturer's site.. also see if you can get into DOS and run scandisk /checkonly first to check and see if it finds errors. If so, then run again with scanndisk /autofix. If you're not familiar with scandisk already, check here for all the switches. Hope this helps, good luck.
  10. Just wondering how many of you freaks out there love Pantera like me. I'm sittin here gettin wacked jammin' out to Yesterday Don't Mean $hit and was just curious how many out there listen to Pantera!! I was born, rasied and still live in Dallas and am a hardcore Pantera fan. RIP Dimebag!!!!!
  11. LOL. Old pals on the forum I see? @sven, I just took a little while ago and it's working just fine for me...
  12. Well I hope it starts working too... good luck.
  13. I understand your pain man... I went through the same thing for a while, I thought I was on crack or something when it started moving all around by itself. Seriously though I'd give the vendor a call and let them know whats up and maybe they can offer you some suggestions. You may end up have to delete or move all the porn to an external drive and send it in to be fixed, LOL. If it was that new though I'd be p***ed too.
  14. Wow... thats odd for such a young laptop. If its still under warrenty I'd give the reseller or Acer a call and tell them whats up and maybe they can offer you some suggestions? Mine just simply went out and I replaced it w/o a hitch and its worked fine ever since. Have you been bad to your laptop?? LOL
  15. How old is the laptop and how long has it been not working ?
  16. You are 70% addicted to Porn. There has been 12353 person(s) as addicted as you. I'm with you Zxian, I've got a girl too and we live together lol. In my opinion you're not a guy if you're not addicted to porn in some way lol.
  17. Its not as bad as you think if you've never done it on most models. What make and model is it ?
  18. Welcome Ted! I would suggest deleting that frontpage folder first of all. Next I would run CCLeaner for the registry benifits. Next I'd use regedit and first export the registry so you have a backup, then search for and delete all Office keys and entries. Restart and try the install again. When trying to install on top of a current instlalation do you have the option to repair? Are you logged in as admin or a user that has admin rights? Also, try here and here. Hope this helps. Let us know.
  19. I had the same problem however my mouse was all over the place. It would go from corner to corner and all around the screen w/o me even touching it. I would try replacing/updating the driver for it, remove it from device mgr and restart. I would also open it up and check all the connections for the mouse. I ended up having to replace mine. Good luck man.
  20. Google has tons of sites for this. Search man! Or just change them all manually once, save the .reg files and use them later if you crash or need to reinstall for some reason.
