  1. There is hope. Slyck News has reported that there is now a current work around to connect to the WinMX network through the hosts file which will allow connection to the supernodes. I guess this would be like putting a neon sign on your forehead to the RIAA though that you're a serious pirate, lol. Hopefully it will be back online soon, kinda doubt it though.
  2. Do you have the driver disk for the product? If so, just go into your device manager, right click the device and update the driver.
  3. Net stumbler is useful for that, but if he hasn't edited the SSID he should change it to something unique instead of the deafult. As well as setup WEP, dhcp, filter... etc.
  4. No I haven't yet. All I lack is the RAM and the Raptor. I think I have made up my mind on the Corsair though. Unless for some reason I can get proof that the Ballistix is better than the XMS2. Although I'm still not sure on the timings. In some places I see 5-5-5-15 and in others I see 5-5-5-12. And is there really that much of a noticable difference between a 3 and 5 CAS latency?? The age old latency vs. speed battle!
  5. Hmm... well.. I've uninstalled my cocpy due to that other thread about M$ so I can't test to see if maybe just the server is down?
  6. DarkShadows - thanks for that link! Very useful.
  7. Yeah, I knew that the decentralized networks existed... but it seems that the applications that in a sense create these networks are created and updated by 'big business' or something that can be shut down. There also needs to be a way to figure out dup'd and 'RIAA Files' so-to-speak.
  8. Ripken, you've checked the usuals right? Allowing it through SP2 firewall or any other firewall you maye have as long as all the other usual junk? How long has it not been connecting?
  9. Thank you. My girlfriend approves as well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Always a good thing!!
  10. I agree, the Deskstar models from Hitachi are great drives.
  11. Hmm, thats weird... I have my homepage at google suggest and as soon as the page loads the cursor is in the box blinking.
  12. Isn't it insane? Quantum computing with like a TB/s conncetion to the net... sucks we're gonna all be old and broken by then.
  13. Carlos Mencia is also insanely racist! He's not on the Mind of Mencia on comedy central, but on his specials *WOW*... the whole show is about racism, every joke.
  14. I agree... I think it's the thrill of knowing all the chaos they've caused for one as well as being able to take advantage of an exploit and being able to meet the challange of attacking that exploit before it's patched.
  15. Ahhh... sorry yeah it is 2000, I have 2003 at home. Thats weird it just started happening, I was thinking maybe you just changed your sig. Hopefully Martin's got an answer for you man, sry. A balckberry are the cool smart phones that can receive email from an exchange server, do phone calls, nextel direct connect... the works. Usually only given to the 'big wigs' and the people with BMW's and Porsche 911's in the 5 car garage lol.
  16. How about an SP1 disk? SHouldn't matter between the two as that scan is for core system files as far as I know.
  17. Check this out! Should be what you're looking for, just set the value to 1. P.S. This is for an XP Home/Pro system only...
  18. I also have Outlook 2003, using it on a network of around a 1000 people. I notice that that sometimes happens if you have an image of some type in you're signature. It ALWAYS happens when coming from a blackberry phone. Could that be it?
  19. Have you recently installed this DC? Sounds like an FSMO role error to me. Done any changes to operations masters in the network?
  20. Thats good to hear! I just got the Plextor and the p4 650 in today. Will you be checking the board over the next few days? I may have configuration and who knows what other types of questions. One I have right now, I was planning on just trying the stock heatsink for a while and see how it performs. If I put arctic silver down between the stock h/s and the chip and then at some point wish to change out the h/s does this stuff just wipe right off clean and then I can just apply more? And how much is enough?? Let me know por favor! And I hope you'll be around, all I lack now is the RAM and the Raptor. Wooohooo!
