  1. I agree... all version I have gotten so far are in .iso format. And I would run it in VM or a separate partition like gunsmokingman suggested... all the bugs aren't out yet
  2. I know of an app, I have it somewhere but can't remember the name, that doesn't "boot" someone like back in the good old days of dial-up AOL, lol... but it does allow you to silently remove your name and all your info from another persons buddy list w/o them even knowing about it. Good for x g/fs and the like!
  3. Well then, didn't know... if its for your desktop just get a IDE converter to go from laptop IDE to standard IDE along with power and hook it up like this. Format with Windows or the many other apps. It will work in your computer and be recognized as a standard drive! Sry, I just assumed that since it was a laptop drive you wanted it in a laptop.
  4. Yeah I like the quick edit, I like the new page jump format too. And the different little pics in the top right hand corners in posts for code, quote... ect. It's nice! I was wondering what was going on for a while when the site was down! Like the RSS as well.
  5. Well, you would have to get a modular device for it of some sort I would think. Like on my laptop I can either have 2 batteries attached, or 1 battery and cd/dvd/second hard drive. I don't think there are any laptops out there that can support 2 drives internally are there? I'd look for modular internal attachments which can house the hd so you'll be able to run both at once. Or an external USB enclosure is an option as well.
  6. I believe so, like prathapml said, they've tried the IRC and other external app angle in the past w/o much success. So hopefully, this way with an applet built right into the site the chat population will be higher due to it being less complicated.
  7. LOL.... go Google! Take over the world!!! haha
  8. I can access all the sites you mentioned w/o a problem. Are you in a network or is this your home connection? If at home and on broadband, I'd try checking your DNS info in your router, release and renew your public IP from your ISP, restart. If your ISP has multiple DNS servers available, try changing to a different one. Check firewall settings as well.
  9. prathapml.. So this will be a chat available on the site only, no IRC interface? Still will be great, just curious.
  10. Very much agreed... given X amount of time, anything is possible.
  11. You are a very compassionate and sympathetic person. You use your divine sense of humor to cheer up a situation. LOL..
  12. Good plan! Yeah, I use the computer at work a lot, plus my laptop at home so there are many avenues. Man, I don't even know if I have any floppies anymore, lol. I'll have to do some work on making it bootable as well with the BIOS information, I haven't done that in years.
  13. I'm really not sure... I log in under a standard 2000/xp classic logon box with SN/PW and it allows me into my email. Everything is fine untill I begin to reply and like I said I get the red X in the subject area and cannot type. For some reason though, I have found that when using Firefox I can reply! It's weird, Firefox renders the entire inbox and all options differently than standard IE-based browsers. I have a feeling it has something to do with Java, but everything is up to date so I have no idea... at least I can still use Firefox and have everything work.
  14. Agreed... nice number crunching... but someday I do believe processes like these will be equal to rendering a DVD today! You never know!
  15. Surely a good read, but as hyperhacker mentioned it will take a loooooooooong time I believe to conqer quantum computing... but oh how sweet it will be!!
  16. I really don't think that being logged in as admin or a user with admin rights will increase the chances of getting installed malware. Most I've seen don't require admin privledges to install. Only way to really lock that down in my mind would be in a network/AD environment resricting users on the network from write access to the c: drive. As far as always being logged in as the admin user I agree, you don't need to be the 'admin' all the time...
  17. Ahh, I see... well my friend I have no idea there... sorry. My guess would be in the registry somewhere.
  18. I hear that... Maxthon is my fav!
  19. Well, the simple but not very informative way is to check Properties in My Computer. You can also download Powertoys TweakUI and check the option to display windows build on the desktop. Someone else here may be able to recommend an app that that can pull the info for you as well.
