  1. Thanks alot for this, i wish it worked with the Zen Vision: M Software tho.. (the software is pretty much the same but i can't get your install method to work)
  2. Thanks for the tip but a RAID setup won't do it. See, the rig with the drive i want to backup is relatively prone to disasters; therefore im reluctant on keeping the 2 drives together all the time. Correct me if i'm wrong, but technically even a batch file could do it? (copying over the files with a modified date > than the last back time?) anyway im afraid of screw ups so i'd prefer to use a reliable program to do the work. Regards
  3. Hmm yep, i believe RAID is out of the question. I think i got the mirroring term wrong indeed, sorry. By mirroring i meant that i want the second drive to reflect the changes of the 1st every time i want to backup. I could just copy the data but i constantly update the files on the disk and the problem is that i don't know how to keep track of the newer/added data to add to the backup disk. Maybe a synchronising application will do it. Got any suggestions?
  4. Hi. I'm looking for a drive mirroring solution. Im not sure if an imaging software (acronis, ghost) suits my needs since i just want to mirror a disk with another, possibly with the minimun impact on my system. I want to back up the data of a non partitioned, secondary, system independent drive. I'm planning on getting a drive of the same capacity and copying all the files over. Now, im looking for a software capable of updating the back-up drive incrementally. BTW, i dont think a realtime mirroring solution will do since im planning to attach the drive once a week or so only to mirror the drive. Any suggestions?
  5. titou2k: Thanks alot for your hard work. Your pack is one of the first things that i run after a reinstall. I wonder trough if there's a way to implement the MTP protocol with your windows media player lite? i recently got a MTP device (zen vision m) and i'd like to avoid installing WMP10 as much as possible.. (so far, the only solution was installing the full blown wmp10. -Ive removed all things WMP related on my nlited install btw) I'd greatly appreciate any help on this topic.
  6. I haven't explained myself well enough i see.. I'm not saying that theres something bad with all slipstreamed cd's, but only with some rare ones(i can't say what's wrong with them trough). To back up this theory i tried installing different versions of xp sp2, using the exact same config files and software. Versions used: -XP SP2 VLK (volume license) -XP SP2 (slipstreamed not by myself, the one i was having problems with) -XP SP1 + Slipstreamed SP2 (i did the slipstreaming myself, using nlite) Result: I had the copy problem only with the slipstreamed cd (second on the list), as always first used integrator, then nlite. Huh yeah then again i could be wrong, probably the cause is somewhere else, and cant really speak for everyone since apparently only a couple other people have this issue hope this clears things up
  7. Just a quick update, my XP disk was indeed a slipstreamed sp2, just tried using integrator with a proper xp-sp2 (somehow my disks got swapped..) then nlite and everything worked perfectly. Therefore i conclude that this issue appears on some specific slipstreamed CDs.. not an integrator nor nLite's fault. I apologise for any confusion i caused regards
  8. I agree with that, nuhi. It's apparently an Integrator issue indeed. I just tried using nLite to integrate RyanVM's pack (following THIS instructions, and this time all the files were copied successfully. Just sayin, so other users with the same issue can give it a go. cheers
  9. Urgh.. after some testing ive got something (nothing good trough ) 1- Integrating the xp cd with Ryan's pack (nlite not used at all) = Installed succesfully 2- Shinking the xp cd with nLite (Ryan's stuff not used at all) = Installed successfully(!!) 3- Combining both = Installation fails miserably (same errors) notes: -used always the same .ini (previously attached) -noticed that the iso created by nlite in the scenario #2 had the file SP2.CAB -noticed that the iso created by nlite in the scenario #3 had the file SP1.CAB (renaming the cab doesnt worked) I seriously hope it gets fixed soon.. i guess it will take awhile since don't know if its a nlite, integrator or MS issue
  10. Ohh i see.. thanks nuhi i will start from scratch (it's gonna be a long night... lol, at least i just installed VMware for testing. Anyway, are you 100% positive my cd has sp2 slipstreamed over sp1? i was thinking otherwise for years now, HERE is a snip of the readme inside the disk. Just want to be sure because otherwise i could do the slipstreaming myself (i am a "sp1" licensor, borrowed the sp2 copy from my company and ive been using it -with my original license- since then. Is there a reliable way to be sure, maybe a signature of the contents of the disk or something like that? Anyway, will report eventual results of my tests later.
  11. something is wrong with your cd cause it has to have sp2.cab ....and not sp1... The original (unmodified) disk has both, and ive never had any problems with it. Only the created winlite .iso image lacks sp2.cab... too bad i can't compare the contens with a working winlite image because i overwrited the old one (i use a cd-rw)
  12. Thanks for the fast reply, just did the tests and both DRIVER.CAB and SP1.CAB (i dont see any SP2.CAB O.o) are fine. I'm attaching the reports of both archives. edit: hmm just noticed that apparently the missing files are inside sp1.cab thanks in advance for any help. DRIVER.txt SP1.txt
  13. I re-confirm the issue Today i decided to start over again using the same configuration .ini with the latest tools/update pack (RyanVM's Upd. Pack V. 2.1.0, Integrator V. 1.4.0 and nLite 1.0.1 Final.) following carefully every step (integrating Ryan's pack with the integrator and processing the output with nLite, then burning the resulting .iso with Nero) Everything worked fine until the file copy screen, then i get the same files missing (AMDK6.SYS, AMDK7.SYS, ARP1394.SYS, etc..) The strange thing is that pretty much the same config used to work with nLite RC8 (i did a couple minor changes and thats it). I even used a newly restored environment do do everything Sadly i don't have VMware and only 1 rig so the testing is kinda tedious -i have to do a Ghost restore everytime- Oh and by the way i'm using a retail XP pro SP2 disk (not integrated) to do the whole thing so a sp2 over sp1 scenario is excluded ..any light on this is appreciated, thanks
  14. sorry, here's mine the steps i did were: 1-integrated an original vanilla XP pro SP2 with latest ryanvm's pack, latest integrator (at the time of post) 2-shrinked the result with nlite v.1, made/burn iso system specs: A64 3000+, 9800 pro, 1gb ram, k8n mobo Last_Sessionx.ini
  15. I'm having exactly the same issue. Until now i tought it was a corruption while integrating the install with RyanVM's pack or something like that.. I'd appreciate some info on this issue aswell.
