  1. Click the Show Updates checkbox in Add/Remove Programs
  2. Assuming you've got an AIP of .NET 2.0 already created, you should just have to run the command line you already posted. msiexec /a dotnet.msi /p patch.msp (change the filenames accordingly) I recommend doing it all from the same working directory to make things simple. Beyond that, I don't know what to tell you if it isn't working. That's what worked for me.
  3. This is often caused by bad RAID/SATA drivers. How are you loading them during textmode setup? Flip the connectors around on the motherboard.
  4. My guess is people removed more than they should have and now it's the pack's fault And Koopie, I'm not a mod here, so I can't edit your post. But I would appreciate it if you'd remove it (if I don't get a mod to do it for me first )

    nLite 1.1

that could be a problem than could it be unziped dueing the install is the catch point i think Both compression schemes he's talking about are CAB compression.@Camarade tux, don't you mean LZX though?
  10. Which is also what I said in my first post in this thread. However, it'll probably work fine with half-height cards
  11. Someone PMed me asking if I'd post the new K8 drivers extracted from the big download like I did for version 1.3.1, so here they are. Enjoy amdk8_132.7z
  12. I think it's time for a quick "I told you so" http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=32786

    nLite v1.0 Final

That message isn't even really true anymore. The problems with setup delays were back around version 1.3 of the Update Pack when it was pushing 150 CAT files. This is the beginning of GUI setup you're talking about? I've never seen anything like you're describing on any of my test installs (both virtual and live).
  14. Socket 939 chips don't have the Hypertransport links needed for a quad CPU configuration. You'll need Opteron 8xx processors for that, as Aegis alluded to.
  15. Keep the thread on-topic, guys. But the short answer to that question is - why use a dump truck when you've only got a wheelbarrow full of dirt? PM me or start a new thread if you want to discuss it further.
  16. I could go for some Brie on sourdough bread right about now...
  17. I think it can work with an upgrade CD, but you need to have an original install CD for a previous OS for it to continue. Upgrade CDs won't let you do a fresh install otherwise, so it makes sense that it's rejecting your key. I don't have a whole lot of experience working with upgrade CDs, but I'm sure others around here have done it before.
  18. umm, I like cheese too Particularly provolone

  22. Out of curiosity, why? What needs to be done to make it easier?
