  1. I'm guessing ones that aren't allowed to be discussed on these forums
  2. If you're disabling WFP, the only CAT files that are really needed are the ones corresponding to drivers so that they'll appear digitally signed to Windows (otherwise you'll got prompted whenever you need to install a piece of hardware that happens to use that driver).
  3. You're assigning three names to the same percsas controller
  4. First off, remove the _x if the file is CAB compressed (ends in .sy_). Second, you shouldn't have three listings under the [sCSI] section.
  5. Yeah, it's on your CD somewhere. Beyond that, I don't have ESP, so you'll have to figure it out from there.
  6. Then I'm guessing KB917734 got installed on your system in some way or another. Do the registry entries for it exist under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Updates\SP3?
  7. The Windows Script 5.6 package was updated to include the hotfixed jscript.dll. It's the same as what you'd get if you installed the older Windows Script 5.6 and the KB917734 separately.
  8. qchain is completely obsolete at this point (as it has been for a couple years now)

    Windows XP SP2b?

Interesting, it's updated to include the new ActiveX changes. It's probably a stipulation of the lawsuit. It sounds like the exact same situation as SP1a where they had to re-release it with MSJVM removed due to legal issues.

While I don't necessarily disagree with Alanoll's points on my pack, I will say in its defense that the use of private fixes is very limited overall with version 2.1.0. Only about about 10 of the 100+ fixes included are privately released and they've been including specifically to fix certain issues that have bugged users. That being said, he's 100% correct that my method isn't a supported method by Microsoft, so in a corporate environment where network drives are gigantic and installation is being done over ethernet, installing them after the fact isn't a bad option. But I still like my way better
  13. It's my birthday and I'm in a good mood, so I'll spare you from a lot of what I really want to say. I'll leave it at this - if you want any kind of acceptance and help around here, you're going to have to at least pretend that you care about how this stuff works. We're not here to be your personal assistants.
  14. What files are you talking about? Download and extract both hotfixes. Compare the updated files. KB912817 fully updates 902400
  15. Because all the files in KB912817 are newer than those in KB902400?
  16. hanief - your best bet is to make use of the list compiled by the Incroyable Hulk in the Unattended Windows forum. From month to month, some of the hotfixes replaces older ones, so while what you asked about would work, it would also be inefficient.
  17. The fastest way is probably to just import them from the INF then export them to .reg files from the registry.
  18. .NET Compact Framework is for mobile devices (aka, PocketPC). It's not necessary for desktop systems unless you're coding for those devices.
