  1. When are you releasing the update SP2 pack? As soon as my HighMAT testers confirm that it's working properly. EDIT: And I did some math today. The pack is a 4.95MB download. Unpacked into the i386 directory, it adds a total of 1.85MB to the total size of the CD. Oh, and for another sneak peak, here's what's in it: ############################################################################################## What's included in this pack? KB831240 - HighMAT CD Writing Wizard KB873374 - Microsoft GDI+ Detection Tool (Registry Entry) KB884020 - Connecting to IP addresses in loopback address range erratic in SP2 (hotfix) -Patched to allow maximum of 100 simultaneous connections KB885626 - Computer stops responding after restarting to complete SP2 installation (hotfix) Macromedia Shockwave Flash 7.0.19.0 ActiveX Control (replaces version 6.0.79.0 on CD) Microsoft Calculator Plus (replaces calc.exe on CD) Microsoft Remote Desktop Client 5.2.3790.0 (replaces version 5.1.2600.2180 on CD) MSXML 4.0 SP2 (includes KB832414 hotfix as well) MSXML 5.0 Windows Script 5.6.8825 (replaces version 5.6.8820 on CD) Windows Update 5.4.3790.2182 (replaces version 5.5.3790.2180 on CD) Other changed files on Windows CD makecab.exe (version included with SP2 messes up file dates) sfc_os.dll (patched to allow disabling of WFP with SFCSetting registry entry) -WFP remains enabled by default, I'm only providing the patched file so it can be disabled sfcfiles.dll (patched to allow deletion of protected folders in Program Files) shutdown.exe (Sysinternals PsShutdown) uxtheme.dll (patched to allow unsigned themes) Extra files included in this pack (copied to system32 directory) cabarc.exe cmdow.exe deluser.exe modifyPE.exe qchain.exe qfecheck.exe Extra registry tweaks included in this pack Fix for DSO Exploit that Spybot S&D complains about ##############################################################################################
  2. you need to use 7za.exe if you don't have 7zip installed
  3. More power to you, then
  4. 5.0 doesn't create the desktop shortcut. And I already said that mine doesn't install the Autoupdate component.
  5. Same place it's always been: http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/files/acroread602.exe
  6. This is basically the same as that, but switchless. EDIT: And about 1MB smaller.
  7. But not Acrobat Reader 6.0.2??? Always happy to help
  8. I don't think putting NETSCAPE=1 will matter at all if you're installing it prior to Opera. Putting that value in the command line only tells it that it should install it for that browser if detected.
  9. BTW, it figures that it went final only a couple days after you made me make a 1.4.2_05 installer
  10. And PLEASE use tags when posting stuff like winnt.sif. It's in the rules.
  11. I think Opera just uses the Netscape plugin (but don't quote me on that)
  12. Just letting you guys know, Java2 Runtime Environment 5.0 has officially left the beta stages and gone final! You can download it from http://java.sun.com/. The same unattended switches that applied to 1.4.2 apply to 5.0. I'll have a 7zip switchless installer up in a bit and I'll edit this post when it's ready. EDIT: I've created one, testing it in VirtualPC now. EDIT2: It works B). The switches hardcoded into this installer are: /qb-! ADDLOCAL=ADD IEXPLORER=1 MOZILLA=1 REBOOT=Suppress JAVAUPDATE=0It will pop up an extraction dialog box and an installation progress bar (with no cancel button). It installs all components, except for the autoupdate function. Yes, it supports multiple languages by default. http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/ (9.01MB) Once again, this EXE does not require any switches. Just call it from your batch file or RunOnceEx or whatever you use.
  13. The "View full changelog" link on your sound pack page is a dead link. It points to: http://users.telenet.be/btsunattended/Down...nd/readthis.htm
  14. Also, why are you doing a RunOnceEx to add a registry entry which imports registry entries? Why not just import them directly?
  15. While we're at it, here's a switchless installer for Acrobat Reader 6.0.2 http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/files/acroread602.exe (15MB)
  16. http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/files/jre5.exe (9.01MB) That's a completely switchless installer for JRE 5 I made. Just run the exe and it'll install it for you. EDIT: Just so you know, it doesn't install the AutoUpdate component, so you won't need that registry tweak anymore, either.
  17. First off, read the rules Second, that type of error generally comes from an error in your txtsetup.sif. If I were you, I'd make a fresh one and try again.
  18. I apologize for my ignorance, but can someone tell me how to go about determining if a particular kernel.exe file is in fact build 2180? I'm sure there is some simple utility for this, but it would be appreciated if someone could point me in the right direction. Also, are people simply hacking their own kernels like BigPoppa, or are any of us just trying to find a boot screen that is already out there complete with the appropriate build 2180 kernel? Thanks! Right click on the exe, choose properties, and click the version tab.
  19. Just so you guys know, patching the AIP with the 9.0.1.1100 patch appears to not overwrite vpc32.exe with the updated build (hence the screenshot I had earlier showing two different builds). The MSI file ends up with duplicate entries for vpc32.exe, one with the correct version number and one incorrect. If you install the MSP after the fact on a normal SAV install, it updates vpc32.exe just fine. So basically, to fully update it, you have to edit the MSI to remove the outdated entry for vpc32.exe and you need to replace vpc32.exe with the updated build.
  20. The 5 at the beginning has NOTHING to do with the DirectX revision
  21. I just recently posted a registry tweak that will fix the problem that Spybot's continually whining about. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...ndpost&p=197581
  22. Yeah, nLite, while a great program for those who know what they're doing, is the source for a LOT of problems. I can't decide if it's too n00b friendly or not enough. It almost makes things too easy for someone to muck things up. Not to mention that having the whole process automated means they're pretty much completely unlikely to actually learn how to make an unattended CD, meaning they have pretty much no troubleshooting ability whatsoever. EDIT: I guess in that sense, you can't fault them too much for not posting all of the relevant details, as many of them don't know what those relevant details are!
  23. It never ceases to amaze me how many of the problems on this board would be solved faster if people would JUST INCLUDE ALL OF THE INFORMATION FROM THE START.
