  1. http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/batch_commands.htm Start reading.
  2. What are you doing reading a section on unattended XP installs if you don't have an unattended CD? Or am I misreading you? If you have one, put the EXE in the same place you put all the other ones you run during unattended setup.
  3. Yes, it is surely integrated with SP1 Put it wherever you normally run files from on your unattended CD. It runs like any other EXE, it just requires no switches.
  4. XPCreate will be necessary for any updates you don't see in the list (which shouldn't be many). And yes, odds are good you're adding very little extra size to the CD (I'd estimate under 100k)
  5. @fedek001 - I'm thinking he removed the one character so as to not give away his CD Key (though I think that's a bit silly - he should have just used x's). But yes, it looks to me like the problem lies with the missing quote. Having an invalid product key wouldn't stop setup, it would only cause Windows to prompt the user for a valid one during setup. @kelsenellenelvian - quotes don't matter one way or another @RBCC - please use tags when posting things like winnt.sif. It makes things far easier to read.
  6. It's direct integration.
  7. Because we're referring to different things. The pack as a total download is 4.95MB. However, since most of the files in it are overwriting other files on the CD, it only ends up consuming an extra 1.85MB on the CD.
  8. The weird thing is that I've heard stories of people who used F6 for their NVRAID drivers and the same problem happened
  9. Wrong. wamatt is making an SP2-compatible version (because the current patcher causes bad things to happen), and the whole point of the sfcfiles.dll fix is so that they aren't protected by WFP - meaning that WFP remains active.
  10. Well to be honest, I'm still torn between fully integrating WMP10 into my install CD and removing WMP from it altogether
  11. Oh, so now you are selling it as the latest Alka-Seltzer? Fixes everything? Hey, don't shoot the messenger! Oh, and how 'bout Dem Yankees!
  12. Nah, not worth getting in fisticuffs over BTW, am I the only person who thought Kerry and Bush were going to start fighting during the debate last night? , those guys were being brutal towards each other.
  13. See if this works: http://www.talkaboutsoftware.com/group/mic...ges/122718.html EDIT: Some are also saying on that board that installing Sun's Java Virtual Machine fixes the problem.
  14. forgive my father, cause I've sin... . For what it's worth, I meant that as I was slapping my own head in frustration, not slapping yours. And your comment was just a bit of a boiling over point for me. It's becoming an epidemic on these boards that people don't bother to READ before posting, it only ends up irritating the better contributers and (in some cases) drives them away. Nothing personal, that much I can assure you
  15. That's weird, it's the first I've heard of that. What exactly do you mean when you say that it stops working? Does it refuse to load? Does the ActiveX control not run? Does it not see any updates?
  16. I wouldn't mind seeing a WMP-less build of XP, myself. It fubars file associations so badly, it irritates me every time I have to see it.
  17. *slaps his head* Did you even bother to READ what I wrote?!?!?!?! The size I quoted was for an entire update pack, of which the updated WU5 files are a single part! Hello, there was a giant code block right under that saying everything included in the 4.85MB pack .
  18. Run both Spybot and AdAware IN SAFE MODE (I can't stress that enough). There are many different spyware apps that can't be removed by scanners when Windows is in normal operation.
  19. Sounds to me like you've got a sick computer. You sure it's virus/spyware free? I swear I remember hearing about a recent spyware app which prevented people from installing SP2 on their systems.
  20. When are you getting that message? Are you using the express install and getting it when you try to download the files? Or are you getting it when it tries to copy the files? If it's the former, send me an IM (info's in my profile) and I can send you the network installer.
  21. If you really want to speed things up with Acrobat Reader, you can download a switchless Acrobat Reader 6.0.2 installer from me (15MB)
  22. If you have SP2 installed, DirectX9c should already be installed. If you don't have SP2 installed, do it
  23. First off, what does this have to do with an unattended Windows install? Second, what operating system are you running?
  24. Many will tell you if you click on their icon in the upper left and select about. Otherwise, you can often find out by viewing the file properties.
