  1. 842773 isn't needed for SP2. GDI+ doesn't have any switches that are working that I'm aware of, but you can put the following registry entry in to tell WindowsUpdate that it's been installed. ;GDI+ Tool [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\GdiDetectionTool] "GDITool"=dword:00000001 And MS VM, you're on your own. It's icky. Use the Sun VM instead (not that I feel the need to rehash this argument again)
  2. i use regshot as bucketbuste, it's clean and not complex, what i only miss it's an option to convert the changes into a .reg file That's a feature ART doesn't have either. So sad because you'd think it would be trivial for them to do that.
  3. Out of curiosity, what version of Windows are you using that can't slipstream with SP2?
  4. I use Advanced Registry Tracer, but I'm not 100% certain it's the best program out there for that job.
  5. Is there a way to have the cmd file automatically make the file name uppercase when running makecab?
  6. it depends on the program. Some are set up to only write values if there isn't any currently there. The best way to find out is to try it and see. I'm thinking you'd have to make the cmd files (and name them sequentially e.g. 1.cmd, 2.cmd, 3.cmd, etc) then have some kind of loop within RunOnceEx to set the registry entries to run them on each profile. You could use REG.exe to create the registry entries.
  7. I assume you're trying to apply them to HKCU. In that case, apply the settings during the cmdlines.txt (or svcpack.inf) stage of setting. They'll be applied to the .Default section.
  8. Already brought up in the thread.
  9. No, it runs detached from setup. Only one program can be run. EDIT: Here's more on it: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documen...iunattended.asp
  10. Huh? That's really strange... You're the only one who's getting that aec6280 error... Maybe an error in your CD? Please take these two steps: 1. rebuild your iso 2. reburn your CD And please post the results! That's what I was going to say too. Sounds to me like he's got the remnants of old driver packs in his txtsetup.sif or something.
  11. First off, why is this in the drivers forum? Second, if it happens before the computer boots from the CD, it's likely a problem with your CD. winnt.sif doesn't get used until Windows setup actually starts after the computer is booted from the CD, and the RAID driver integration is at an even later stage. I'm almost 100% certain your problem lies elsewhere. Try the ISO in VirtualPC and see if it's bootable in there. If not, your ISO is obviously bad . If it works, then I'd say your boot CD was just bad.
  12. Does any of you here actually use the HighMAT CD wizard and if so, would you be willing to test something for me? I'm trying to integrate it directly into the XP install CD, and I think I've got it. I need somebody to test it, though. Anybody up for it? It won't mess up your computer, for the record EDIT: What I really need is someone (or multiple people) who use the Windows CD Writing Wizard. The HighMAT wizard integrates into that and I can walk you through how to test it.
  13. I've been on that site all day EDIT: And %53% gives this: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator (well, I'm logged on as administrator). I'm most interested in using the %DATE% variable.
  14. OK, just wondering. He brought some good drama with him back in the day. You wouldn't by chance know how to get in touch with him, would you? I've got some INF questions for him.
  15. Anybody know how to use an environment variable (like %USERNAME%) in an INF file?
  16. I went on about a three month hiatus from the site over the summer, and now that I'm back I've noticed gosh isn't posting anymore. On top of that, his title says "gone". Did he have another hissy fit and leave or something?
  17. A lot. Shoot me an IM please
  18. Numinous - what do you know about INF files?
  19. X2PVOL_EN will be the likely volume ID for XP Pro SP2 (Volume License) CDs once they're released.
  20. Just replace intro.wmv in i386
  21. It's not required to update that info, but I think it adds a little polish to the job No idea as to why that info didn't update - probably because Adobe was lazy in how they set up their patch (as if that isn't evident by the lack of an MSP file or by the fact that their "complete" install is just an MSI file, an MST file, and a couple cab archives rather than one unified package).
  22. Any idea how I'd use this or perform an equivalent task in an INF? EDIT: Does anybody know how Microsoft calculates their 5 digit checksum values?
  23. Time for work! (Just don't put your knee down: you might get roughed!) Yeah no kidding
