  1. KB884020.exe /integrate:c:\xpcd Adjust the filenames/paths accordingly
  2. ...which is the case in 99% of circumstances The NVRAID controller appears to be an exception, though I'm not 100% convinced of that. I think an email to nVidia is going to be needed to clarify the situation.
  3. Maybe I'm off base here, but wouldn't it be SystemRAM = objSWbemObject.TotalPhysicalMemory / 1024???
  4. A bit more info might be helpful... EDIT: Start by posting your batch_file.cmd. My bet is that you've got the paths in there incorrectly.
  5. Did you use nLite by chance?
  6. that's exactly what I'd need I'm pretty sure I've got MSXML 4.0 SP2 integrated into my little "project", but I want to test it before I get too sure of myself.
  7. Just add the needed registry entries so Firefox registers as installed.
  8. hah, I was just about to tell you to try the same thing
  9. Very nice timeline. I'm going to be sure to refer people to it in the future
  10. hmm, OK So the files still aren't being copied for whatever reason.
  11. Lunar Windows for x86 Machine it is not product key... you know... Yeah, I was wondering about that myself
  12. Of course you don't have any problems with VirtualPC. VirtualPC emulates hardware - it doesn't use your actual hardware (if you don't believe me, take a look in device manager next time you're in VirtualPC). Try posting your PCI DeviceIDs (see earlier posts in this thread for how to look it up - @Bashrat - maybe update your first post with info as to how to get it?) so it can be confirmed that they're even included in the pack.
  13. that was exactly what i tried to say, but unless i tried adding the entries, like: files are not copied to the correct directories. please can you take me on the right path? I think you have to add a lot more than just sys files to dosnet.inf. You have to add all the INF, DLL, etc files that come with the drivers as well. My personal thoughts on the matter are that if you launch setup using winnt32.exe (instead of booting off the XP CD), you're better off manually adding your drivers. As far as I'm aware, dosnet.inf is considerably more difficult to set up than txtsetup.sif, and I can't say I blame Bashrat for leaving it out (I took it out of the pack for the same reason - it's just too much trouble for the small minority of people who actually use it).
  14. Go ahead and try using F6 with an unattended CD and let us know how it goes . Or let me answer it for you (or the numerous other threads in this forum would answer it already ). Using OEMPreinstall=Yes in winnt.sif overrides the ability to use F6 in an unattended setup. As a result, setup will be unable to copy the files from the floppy disk during the file copy stage of textmode setup.
  15. maybe you're right on the RAID part, but it's still required to get Windows on there! (I also think you can only make the raid itself (eg 0/1/5/0+1) AFTER Windows is installed, but you have to install it on one of the disks (JBOD) and use the driver afterwards to be able to use a RAID method) You're half right, half wrong. WindowsXP does have the ability to make a software-based JBOD array with Disk Manager, but I would never recommend you do it. There's also hardware controllers, which have a BIOS of their own which detects the drives when the computer boots. You build an array in that BIOS (before the operating system is even invoked). It's for those hardware controllers that this driver pack is needed. (Anybody find it funny that we're educating the RAID driver guy on how to create RAID arrays? - just giving you a hard time Bashrat )
  16. Kudos to both of you for the valiant effort, though Oh and GM, still crying about last weekend?
  17. Does anybody know of a way to test if MSXML 4.0 (this is important, I don't want to test older versions) is installed properly on a system? I'm looking for apps that depend on it or something.
  18. I'd say to just copy the expanded version to dllcache and system32\drivers ...or wait a couple days for what I've got brewing
  19. MD "%appdata%\Sun\Java\Deployment" ECHO deployment.console.startup.mode=disable>> "%appdata%\Sun\Java\Deployment\deployment.properties"
  20. Well done, sir
  21. make sure you've got the java console disabled in the control panel. Also, have you tried 5.0RC?
  22. Microsoft has a tool specifically for removing the MS JVM. Google "unmsjvm" Or, download it direct from me
  23. I'm in the US, so an English-only version doesn't bother me
  24. Do you have information to the contrary that you're witholding?
  25. What software would that be?
