  1. . Actually, I don't mind people knowing at all (because it means less work for me if people want to make their own versions) Actually, we're looking into how to make our own cat files. evilvoice came across references to a program called makecat, but he can't actually find it for download anywhere.
  2. Already pointed out and corrected. Windows Script 5.6.8825
  3. At that point, you could probably just edit the pack yourself. It's pretty straightforward how I set it up. I have a central INF which is run as a Windows Component that adds the registry and copies any files that it has to. Everything else is just a direct overwrite of existing files on the CD.
  4. RE: svcpack.inf - Correct RE: nLite method - Read more closely. You need to edit txtsetup.sif and dosnet.inf after nLite runs (I've tested this personally, if you edit them prior to that, nLite rewrites the files without the entries). EDIT: Thanks for noting my URL typo there. Silly lazy me . It's corrected now.
  5. It's possible. The only problem is that some of the files included in the full pack don't have multilingual versions The Lite version should work fine with all languages of XP (though I'd love to get confirmation from non-English users on that regard).
  6. Read the column heading. The second column is the version on the CD being replaced.
  7. Look at the sticky at the top of the forum

  9. Discussion has moved to the following forum: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/
  10. .NET 2.0 is still in beta, and from what I hear, it's far from stable.
  11. Interestingly, it uses a bit different style than the other ones. I'm gonna have to look into it a bit.
  12. , given that's what I told you to do a couple pages back (use the network install)...
  13. There's no reason you can't integrate the drivers for all three controllers into the one CD. Again, Bashrat's pack does this automatically and very easily. I strongly recommend you use it.
  14. [office barbrady]Move along, nothing to see here[/officer barbrady]
  15. Who tripped over the power cord and killed the server?
  16. *sigh* I've already figured this out. Just wait a couple days.
  17. That's basically what I've got coming down the pipe (though considerably simplified from that) EDIT: And actually, I don't think that INF would work anyway since it relies on environment variables passed to it from the installer.
  18. Coming well. I think I'm gonna have to ditch one part of it, but oh well. I just want to test it with nLite to make sure there's no wackiness and then I'll release it. Expect it within a day or two.
  19. Defragmenting - No (what is it with people thinking defragmenting is for fixing computer problems?) Formatting - Most likely yes
  20. Yeah, you should apply any HKCU tweaks at that stage.
  21. My apologies for the false accusation. Unfortunately, you're one of a very small minority who has problems with a legitimate key. First off, make sure your winnt.sif says ProductKey instead of ProductID, as that changed from SP1 to SP2 (I might have flipped those around, I don't define the CD key in my answer file, so I'm not sure). Otherwise, do what Alanoll said and call MS about it. If your keys are legitimate, they should be able to help you. Again, apologies for accusing you. Understand that it was nothing personal, just that 95% of the time it is a pirated key and troubleshooting it is a big pain in the arse
  22. Did both AdAware and Spybot come up clean in safe mode?
  23. No cleartype has a nice well-definited registry setting. ;Enable ClearType by default [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop] "FontSmoothingType"=dword:00000002
  24. So where are your "other keys" coming from then?
  25. You need to set the explorer display settings all at once. To do that, set up the Explorer windows exactly how you want them, then export every in the following key from the registry: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams]Apply the settings at the T-12 (svcpack.inf/cmdlines.txt) stage of setup for the settings to stick.
