  1. This whole concept is so outragious. Sence when did you not own WHAT YOU PAY FOR?! It's quite sad that it takes something like this for the majority of ppl to even want to kill the idea of WGA. Us here in the forums are intelegent enough to know what is coming in and out of our systems but what about those who don't know better? I have made it a personal mission to inform every laymen I can about the evils of WGA and other things that M$ does. I believe that if enough ppl know then M$ won't have a choice but to change or go out of business. Oh and this is kinda of topic but I found it funny. Google shows 150,000+ results for legal action towards M$ http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls...its&spell=1 If this type of information was on the evening news I think that things would change very quick.
  2. Just a thought but if you have access to another computer you could expand the file from the cd and save it to a floppy. Then copy the file from the floppy to your system32 dir. Hatefulsorrow
  3. If you google it you'll find the answer. But the general idea is that you need to edit the Abcyy.ini file for the installer so that you don't need to enter a serial, user name and/or company. Like i said though, google is your friend in finding how to edit this file. Hatefulsorrow...

  5. I've already made a cab to be integrated via RyanVM's Integrater. It works like a charm and I have had no problems. If anyone is interested let me know via PM.
  6. Just a thought but as a temporary fix you could always turn off the autorun. That would explain why explorer grinds to a halt when ever a disk is insterted into the drive. All you need is a reg tweek and your done. Search the forum and you'll find it. Good luck. Hatefulsorrow
  7. I use Nero 6 Portable. Very lite. Only 17 MB and doesnt require an install. It was origanally designed for use off a thumb drive but works very well for a UI. It doesnt have any extras, just the burning app and iso features. No wave editing or start smart, ect.
  8. Another thing to concider would be checking the settings on the router it-self. I have a 2wire wireless router and it wont allow new wireless connections until they have been aproved of by the network administrator. IE myself. If the router is configured this way it may be your problem. Also is there any software that came with the wireless card? I know its a dumb question but some wireless cards cant connect unless you are using their designated software. Just thought. Good Luck, Hatefulsorrow
  9. also on the machine that isnt connecting, you might want to make sure that the Wireless Zero Configuration service is running and not disabled. I know its kind of a newbie thing to look for but some times the simple solution is overlooked.
  10. You could edit the txtsetup.sif part of the setup to make the two new directories or, VascoMan stated, call a mkdir to make both the software and the software\programs directories. Also if you need to use the double slash path IE Software\\Programs Be sure to put all slashes as doubles IE: D:\\Software\\Programs Cheers

  12. I was woundering if its possible to have the GUI part of a windows installation to show in verbose mode. Kinda like the regitry tweek that make windows logon show everthing its doing. Any ideas?
  13. If you can locate the file on your computer then delete it. If access is denied then download Unlocker (can be found on the forum somewhere) and use that to gain access to delete it. My general thing with files is: If I didn't install it and it didn't come with windows then delete it. Hope this helps. Cheers, Hatefulsorrow

  15. By its name it looks to be the ISA Plug and Play driver for windows. I don't know which version of windows your running so I can't help more then that until I know but another thing to look into would be the computer's BIOS. When you turn the computer on it will show some form of a post screen. It will either be a logo or a bunch of text that show the information about the computer. To enter the BIOS setup screen you need to press one of the following, F2, F10, or Delete. Some computers have other keys but these are the mose common. While that screen is showing (either the logo or the text) you need to press one of these keys. If you look at the bottom or about three lines down from the top of the text it will tell you which key to push. After you enter the BIOS setup screen you need to find a setting that says PNPOS or Plug and Play OS and change the value to the oposite of what it is at. (IE if it is enabled disable it and visa versa) This may be the problem but I could be wrong. When your done changing the value press either Escape or goto the exit option. Exit with saving changes and confirm if asked. Now let the computer reboot and see if it continues to happen. If so please post system specs and OS. If you can't figure out what the specs are at least post the OS version. Good luck and I hope this helps some. Hatefulsorrow P.S. PM me if you need more help.

  17. @Suryad The things that it is running at the speed it shows. If it was just registaring wrong the client could deal with it but the proformence loss is the problem. And if not before, why is it showing now? Up until a week or two ago there was never a problem and the system ran fine.
  18. Maybe..... But that would have changed with the bios update. Even after the update I reset the bios to factory default as to rule out such things. Im not sure....... I'll look into that anyway just to be on the safe side but I don't think that can be changed on this board. At least not without a patch or unlock command of some kind.
  19. Yes I do mean that. Also I have tryed both of these things and have had no luck. Power settings are always set to "Always On" and the Bios and chipset drivers where factory default (signed Aug. of 2004 I think) until yesterday when I upgraded them thinking that the old version could be the problem. Could the CPU be bad??? The client just emailed me saying that in the system proporties window now shows that the AMD is now showing as an Intel. It just says Intel and nothing else. (No model number or type IE. Celeron or P4) Also now his video card is only registaring 23 Mbs of Video Memory rather then the 32 that it should be. (The 32Mb NVidia is non-shared.)   21. Ok I'm stuped on this one. I'm servicing a computer. It's an HP Pavilian zx1600x. (I think, its not with me at the moment) Now the delema. The AMD Processor reads 1600 Mhz in the Bios. But when in windows (XP Pro SP2, all updates) The system proporties show that the processor is only 787Mhz. Then when you load the game Star Wars Galaxies, the game opens an error window that states that the processor is 383Mhz and 900 Mhz is needed to run the game. I've updated all the software and firmware in the system as well as flash updated the Bios. This problem showed up about two weeks ago. There was nothing special about what was going on in the system (IE Updates, Installs, Ect.) How do I go about fixing this problem. The system runs like an old 386 socket 3. Lol. I have tried every thing short of a re-install of windows. I would like to avoid this if possable due to the extensive process of this clients software reinstalltion and backup.   23. I'll look into it tomorrow. It's 1:47AM where I live and I need to try and sleep. I remember there was a way to hide the link proporties on a client machine. I'll look for that as well.
