  1. Thanks. One more question though. Do you know how to call the bin from a batch scipt so that it will start like it would if it was loaded by a boot loader?
  2. @prathapml I have considered that idea and, as you stated, do not wish for such a slowdown. I am looking for a way to automate the process via a custom bootloader. My idea is that a bat script converted to an exe will run and set the partitions and also do the formating before windows setup starts. I beleive this can be done throught editing of the boot image used to load setup from CD. Basically I would have the converted bat script run first and then call the setup boatloader to finish the work for a truely unattened CD. Also I have asked many people and many see this as a good thing. I want to get the hard stuff done so others can benifit from the work and use the process in their own UA Cd's. I will be using diskpart for my partitioning and formating needs. This will allow for a person to quickly change the settings for their needs via a text file saved on the cd. Maybe this is nothing more then a pipedream but I believe that it would benifit many people. And if nothing more I would like to know if I can do what no one else has been able too. Thank you for the reply though. It's great to have a place to bound idea's such as these off and be able to get such a timely and intelegent reply.
  3. No. When setup is loaded via the CD (IE "Press any key to continue...") There is a file that is loaded to start the setup process. I believe it to be a bin file. I've looked at the hex of a few of the bin files in the i386 folder and the one I believe to be it is setupldr.bin but I have found no evidence as of yet to prove this. I have neither of the setup files (winnt.exe, nor winnt32.exe" in my nLited i386 folder. Yet the UA cd works fine. This what lead me to believe that another file is loaded to start the process and that the winnt.exe file is nothing more then a bootstrap that loades the file in question. I may be wrong but it would be enlightening to know.
  4. Ok stupid question. I need to know what file is called to start the windows xp installer on a bootable CD. It's the winnt.exe or another file? I have a running idea on how to make a UA cd that pre-partitions and formats a HD with 3 partitions. One primary and two logical. If I miissed this in the search I am sorry. Hatefulsorrow
  5. I looked at it too. Definately the way it should be. *Edit* Vando2k. It has been very good debating with you. I've have learned alot and learned a new view on things. Unfortunately I need sleep. I'm on hour 41 with out it. I hope we can pick up where we left off some time soon. As too everyone else, please don't be shy about your opinion. Hatefulsorrow
  6. I dont know for sure but i think they are wise installers. Try running it like this: xxx.exe /x:PATH xxx being the installer /x: being the switch PATH being the path that you want the files extracted to. I haven't tested this yet but I ran the USSF on one of the installers and thats what it told me.
  7. It is true that, in comparision, people in the US make a lot of money. But the cost of living is also very high. And after taxes and bills most people make much less money then they look like they make. But I do agree with you about the fact that software does not feed the hungery. In a perfect world such a thing would not even exist. But this world is not perfect. If not for anything else but that fact, the money should go back to the "people" not to the person. I believe that the worlds hunger problem would be solved if all that money went back to the people rather then to that corporation. They have plenty more money then they could ever spend. Why not give the extra to people who really need it? I do like your idea about a low cost OS that is affordable to the people according to their area and geological location. But that, alas, is nothing more then a pipedream. If such a thing existed with the resorces of a company like microsoft many more people would be able to live life much easier. The fact that software is the same price almost everyware is wrong. So many other thing must adhear to different currentcy rates. How is it that such a large product as software was able to slip through the cracks? The idea that money fixes any problem is truly shown by this fact. Some things just shouldn't be allowed. No execptions. Like murder. No government on the planet doesn't have laws against that type of thing. But if you have enough money you can do anything. Why this is only you can deside for yourself, but I think its the most revolting thing about the world. It's sad to realize that a peice of paper is worth more then a human life. But then again I have gone way off subject. It's hard to discuss something like piracy with out touching on many other topics that pertain to the reason behind it. I'll let you decide if you can relate to this or if its just another persons rambling.
  8. Im not sure what there is to gain from doing so. I was just stating a point. I too use a pirated OS and software. I was just bringing up topics for thought and debate. I too am a student. But unlike the others in the form I dl not because I can't afford it (i cant but thats not the point) I dl because I don't like that big corportations like microsoft have so much power. And in such I only dl from such companies. As the little guy I feel that this is all I can do. I too have grown up in a world where it is acceptable to pirate. But as many argue, is it wrong or right? The fact that the influence of the microsoft corportation reaches to almost every home on the planet sickens me. No person or group of people should have such control or influence. They are now to the point that the only rival to their influence is religon. This contry (the US) was based on free trade and we have laws that say that such influence is illegal. (its called a monopoly) But in the face of the largest threat to such the government has turned a blind eye. It's true that these corporations don't feel a d*** thing when it comes to the day to day user pirating. But they feel that this is unacceptable. They want every last cent. Greed my friend, pure greed.

    CDKey?

Very true. You do have that same right. I'm just saying that its not cool to just chew someone out because you feel like it. But hey do what you want. I'm not your keeper.
  10. No problem. Glad to help

    CDKey?

Dude this is a forum. Not a legal lession. People have to right to be themselves and be off tone if the mood stikes them. Leave that type of thing to the mods. Also downright chewing someone out is wrong. Please don't take your misplaced aggression out on the members. We are people too.
  12. Its ok. Just trying to save you a headache from a mod. They get cranky about that stuff. Also if you do double post, add a reply that asks a mod to either close or merge the two posts. Or just click the report buttion to PM them directly about the same thing. It's just good form to let them know.
  13. As far as I know some make you take of the original cooler and some attach over the current one. As for my GPU it is old and very weak so it runs about 49C or about 97F This is still quite hot for my model. nVidia GeForce440Go. Also if u check out the manufactuar's web page about the specs of your card you sould be able to find something about the norm opperating temp. If not email their tech support and ask. Cheers Hatefulsorrow
  14. Please look at this post. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=55128&st=10 It has some reasons as to why I beleave that picracy exists. Also piracy, in my opinion, is a my for normal people to feel as though they can get away with something they would not normally do. Piracy is theft plan and simple. But most people would shoplift just because they want something. Piracy is a way of making the person feel as though they can do such a thing without fear of consiquence. Until recently this was true. But just because someone sees an ad in a movie theator that say that it's wrong doesn't mean that they will change. Once you get away with it once, it is much harder to tell yourself that you shouldn't do it just because its a moral gray area. Many people do not see software piracy as a crime. They let their personal feelings, such as the fact Windows XP just costs to much, to cloud their judgement. If you beleave something to be wrong why not work to change it rather then just steel it? I do understand that no one person has any hope of changing the price for a product such as Windows Xp but I do beleave that if enough people refused to pay such a high price, lawfully, that this could change. But maybe I'm wrong and piracy is the peoples way of doing just that.
  15. please don't repost if you don't get an answer right away.
  16. lol. Almost. Try changing the subnet mask on the local one to something like. 255.255.0.0 rather then 255.255.255.0 and check to see that they are not bridged and both are set to DHCP if it used. Also check to ensure that the DNS is correct. Run and IPCONFIG /all to see that the DNS is the same as the router. If it is not change it to the IP of the router for the primary and the IP of the modem for the secondary
  17. Very nice and thanks for the link. As for mine, I use an old HP keyboard that has some nice features. It has the media controls at the top and the hotkeys to open a browser and outlook without having to click a link.
  18. Make a new user on the com that is trying to connect to the DB with the same name and password as the comp with DB. This will allow that user connect. Hope that helps
  19. Make sure the two Nics arn't using the smae IP range. This has been know to cause such problems.
  20. Nice. Thanks At0mic
  21. It's done automatically. I have done quite a few UA's and after the first or secound reboot they're gone.
  22. I agree. Upgrade.
  23. You should look into liquid cooling. Due to the lack of ventalation in your case this would be the logical step to take to avoid damage to the card and or board.
  24. Back on subject. I remember reading something a few weeks ago about the RIAA looking into torrents as well as other types of warez. Supposedly that RIAA was patitioning the Supreem Court for the right to prosocute (sorry about the speeling, lol) any person or persons that dl from such sites. This was supposed to be done by logging the inbound and outbound IP's from the those who veiwed the site. This, I believe, would cause a very big problem. Because they want to base their lawsuites on the fact that just veiwing the page is illegal. They attributed warez to child porn in the sence that it is a vialation of law to veiw it rather then just download. But as before stated, no real action is being taken against the site host, just the end user. I can't be sure that this is true but it is what I've read on some other fourm. Off topic: The fact that the government has the right to censor such things is wrong to begin with. When did the government control the people and not the people control the government? For the people my a**. No one person has the right to express themselves freely without having to either go through the governments paperwork and contrants or without fear of prison or some other form of punishment by the government due too their indiviuality. But this is just my two cents. No offence intended.
  25. Also you might want to try and see if the contacts from the address book were imported. The contacts are stored differently in Office Xp then in Office 2003 Small Business. Open the address book from Start>All Programs>Accessories and import her old address book into that. Then when you go into Office 2003 browse for the address book file and import it. Sorry I can't be more specific but it's late and mu head hurts from programming. lol. Hope that helps some too. Hatefulsorrow
