  1. Hmmm ... I was not quite aware of that. Or perhaps I convieniently forgot. I think I may have to start another 'todo' list ...
  2. Thanks, utln. (Remember to avoid the madness this weekend!)
  3. I beg to differ. There are some updates that may not be handled, but all the information you need can be found here in these forums. Just read some of the posts by Bilou_Gateux or homiebrah, they have easily found solutions.
  4. I have not looked into Photo Story, but I am not partiularly interested in applications that do not show up in Windows Update. Welcome to MSFN, haveblue128!
  5. I kind of liked my own write up ... http://greenmachine.msfnhosting.com/READING/addraid.htm
  6. Thanks again, Bilou_Gateux. For what it is worth, I have solved these problems by adding new SVC directories that allow you to dictate, to a small extent, the order of the hotfixes. This is not necessary with XP, but Windows 2000 does need this manipulation. Your work pointed me in that direction!
  7. Hmmm ... Does that mean you have got it straightened out?
  8. Well, you gotta admit, these are overwhelming times for long-time Boston Sports Fans. Now for a TKO for TO and his boys! Barring a heart attack this Sunday, work should resume next week. Anyone know what time Janet is on?
  9. I, personaly, will not be experimenting with removing ANY Windows components, let alone somethine as basic as IE. If that is your objective, I believe nuhi's excellent work with nLite may be your best solution.
  10. OK. I will include the GETIE6 option into XPCREATE.INI. Strange, I was sure I had that there at one point ...
  11. Welcome to MSFN, guido5059! And thanks, once again, to Bilou_Gateux!
  12. No sweat, dudes! I guess this has been cleared up ...
  13. Thanks, utln! As I mentioned in another post, I will update the lists after the next round of hotfixes comes out on February 8th.
  14. The simplest solution is to run XPCREATE a first time, and then modify the contents of the CDSOURCE directory to fit your particular needs. I will not be attempting a selective delete, or copy, of files, as this will restrict the portability of XPCREATE, and require reviewing and possible updating with every new hotfix. Sorry Bilou ...
  15. I see I have turned homiebrah into an IEXPRESS fan! True, this update may not be needed, but for know one of the goals of XPCREATE is to create an installation that reports ZERO updates needed on WIndows Update. For this reason I will always try to "install" these updates. A fix is currently on the works.
  16. Sounds strange to me ... If this is still an issue, please post again, and I will look into it.
  17. If you can ... please do! Also, adding a bit of politeness and grammer would be most appreciated!
  18. Hmmm ... Sorry, jobbie, but I do not quite understand the question. If this is still an issue, please re-phrase the question, and I will try to help.
  19. Welcome, janzo, to MSFN! I do not have the "complete set" of those drivers: you may want to use one of the Driver Packs in the Device Drivers Forum. I do not, however, recommend addin as many drivers as you can get your hands on, as there can be conflicts, especially where some different drivers use the same PCI PnP ID. Good Luck!
  20. Welcome, aBNormal, to MSFN! Thanks to those that answered in my absense! I will be updating the Current Hotfix list on the Web Site after February 8th - the release date of the next round of hotfixes.
  21. Well, even though you have answered your own question ... The work-around is clearing the keys buy running them, which is what IESTART.EXE does. The reason being that if these keys are not run at this point, the Windows Address Book importer (I think...) is run upon launching RunOnceEx. The problem is that the dll that is run has been updated, and hangs with this command, causing the phenomenum of Windows 2000 never getting as far as the desktop.
  22. Thanks once again, Bilou_Gateux. It looks like we have not all been on Vacation!

    need help

Well, I guess by now rawad has found the Unattended Guide ...
  24. Ahhh ... I must have got knocked out by one of those mangos, or one too many of those Pina Coladas. Nothing like a little R & R!
  25. I put Pcdlib32.dll in C:\Windows\System32, Picaview32.cnt, Picaview32.hlp and Picaview.dll in C:\Software\Graphics\PicaView, and merge the following REG file. You will need to change the serial number / registration info. You might need to adjust the path, as well as the last three lines with your license information. You can get that information from a current, correct installation. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\PicaView32] @="{68f32140-2ca3-11d0-acc1-444553540000}" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{68f32140-2ca3-11d0-acc1-444553540000}] @="PicaView32 Shell Extension" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{68f32140-2ca3-11d0-acc1-444553540000}\InProcServer32] @="C:\\Software\\Graphics\\PicaView\\PicaView.dll" "ThreadingModel"="Apartment" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\PicaViewImage] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\PicaViewImage\DefaultIcon] @="C:\\Software\\Graphics\\PicaView\\PicaView.dll" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\PicaViewImage\Shell] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\PicaViewImage\Shell\Open] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\PicaViewImage\Shell\Open\Command] @="rundll32.exe C:\\Software\\Graphics\\PicaView\\PicaView.dll,ShowImage %1" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDLLs] "C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\Pcdlib32.dll"=dword:00000001 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell Extensions\Approved] "{68f32140-2ca3-11d0-acc1-444553540000}"="PicaView32" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ACD Systems\PicaView32] "UsageCount"=hex:00,00,00,00 "Code"="CODE HERE" "Name"="NAME HERE" "Evaluation"="SOME STRANGE ALPHA NUMERIC STRING"
