  1. Not so fast: I'm working on a hangover first!
  2. Indeed: I am just straightening out current lists, before updating them in a few days. Patches are due out Tuesday.
  3. Gee, I hadn't really considered that possibility ...
  4. Thanks, jimmytop, for the heads-up. Of course if we run into a problem, I'll work on it. However, these things change so often before release, that I've stopped trying to stay one step ahead. As to XPCREATE not being able to download anything, it is all a mater of settings in XPCREATE.INI. The code, as far as I can see, still works fine.
  5. Glad you got it working. I will (hopefully) get around to updating that guide. I forgot: Welcome to MSFN!
  6. Dr. J: I remember him - used to play for UMass. I wondered where he ever went! As for the cheesesteaks: what do you expect from a Red governor in a Blue state? Oh well: when your streak reaches our 86 year drought, I'll start to feel sorry! But it's not our fault: the curse started when TO became the cover-boy for that game. History has shown that is not a wise move ...
  7. Just trying to point out ... something ...
  8. Actually, pre-slipstreamed versions are OK, as long as the corresponding hotfixes are used. Of course, slipstreaming a service pack a second time could cause unpredictable results.
  9. I still find it strange that PRODSPEC.INI can't be found ... I'll look into it as soon as I dig out my SBS copy.
  10. Well ... google "wardrobe malfunction" and you will find Janet! (I'm sure RyanVM knows what I'm talking about!)
  11. My ususal reply, is that I won't be updating for "things" in the works. We'll have to see what happens when Microsoft goes live with this. Assuming you are all using genuine Windows versions, we should be OK ...
  12. Installing post SP2 updates IS what XPCREATE does ...
  13. I agree. May not be as fast as other solutions, but there are much, much less problems in implementation (no worry about paths, file cleanup, etc.)
  14. That would make sense. Follow jimmytop's suggestion, and make sure you have DotNet if you are adding theupdate!
  15. Gotta fix that, too, I guess. Added to the list.
  16. Good point ... [url /URL]
  17. I've seen no troubles so far, have you?
  18. I'd have to concour with it_ybd: you probably would have more luck in the Unattended Forum ...
  19. Thanks, koszopal. Hopefully we will get a Hotfix List server up again, soon ...
  20. I assume that answered your question. Everything OK now?
  21. The files in the DOTNETFX directory are never integrated into the installation: they are there for convienience. You do not need it: your call.
  22. Welcome to MSFN, craig.miller! I'll have to get a copy of SBS, and take a look. XPCREATE searches for PRODSPEC.INI to determine the Windows flavor. This file is included on all the other Windows versions. Strange that it was left out here. As soon as I get a copy, I'll update this thread. In the meantime, you could search the CD for PRODSPEC.INI, and post back your findings. Thanks

    XP64

Right you be, it_ybd. I will not be supporting any beta OSes. I would like to get my hands on a 64 bit CPU, and give it a try, though (for educational purposes, of course ... )
