  1. Well I am disapointed really this is the firsttime I have had a rant on a forum but I think it's deserved. I am amazed that several hundred people read the thank you post yet didn't add a reply. In this world I think it's great that someone with Green machines talent can be bothered to help us, for people like me there would be no chance of being able to do what he as created. I just find it difficult when I see people taking this good will enjoying the benefits and then not having the manners to say THANK YOU It is a horrible world we live in when all we can do is take, we are very lucky that Green machine can be bothered to help us, it's a good job he's not a taker otherwise we would all be worse off. Rant over
  2. Hi bought a mother baoed today which has the via sata drivers I have looked at your list and it looks like these are not on it. Kind regards Andrew.
  3. Hi there, I have a disc that came with my Abit motherboard I have put it in my floppy drive and then Explore but I cannot find the version numbers, on the disc are .\silicon\3112\ for windows 2000 and xp, .\silicon\3114\ for windows 2000 and xp, .\intel\ for windows 2000 and xp and finally .\via\ for windows 2000 and xp. If they are any good I will be glad to send them, I didn't want to send you something you already have, if you could explain how I can tell the version I will check then send them if they are any good. Don't know if you remember me you helped me integrate my sata drivers, I'm the chap who didn't have a clue. Any way hope you are keeping well. Kind regards Andrew.

    Thank you

I have just done my first install using the XPCreate cd that I made, this is a whole new world to me and has opened up many doorways for me. I just think it is appropriate to thank Greenmachine for the massive amount of work that has gone into creating this programme and then to share it with us all. I'm sure I am not alone when I say a big thank you for all your effort into this project and continuing to help us with our projects.
  5. Success, absolutely brilliant, that is one impressive piece of work, how long did that take to put together?
  6. Thanks I'll do that right away and nip and make a drink to keep me awake. Right it's at it right now should only be a few mins and I should have the result, I've just looked at your dedcation on your website, I am lost for words really, that's something special, and so are you for helping people like me Thanks.
  7. I think I've got it at last thanks for the patience. XPCREATE.CAB
  8. Hi I have gone to the new files / in there I have dosnet set up information, log files, svc pack, txt set upand XP Create. When I double click on the log files blue cabinet box it opens up the XPCreate but when I right click on that it only gives me an option to copy or extract. I think I am missing the point somewhere would you know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks again, Andrew.
  9. Hi I am really sorry about that I don't know how to navigate around these folders so it was a genuine mistake, although I did think there was an awfull lot there. Anyway here is what I think is now the right bit. My problem is that I am a complete beginner when it says in the root etc I don't know what that mean's I have gone through and can find a cab file I think that it what it is it is in like a cabinet in the new files folder saying log files, but when I try to open it it just gives me an option to extract it not copy and paste it, so I have edited the log file I attached earlier and left the part that says do not delete along with the other bits I think will be useful. Edited to remove the lengthy file.
  10. Thank you for a quick reply, I have tried to do that but when it gets to the end after saying burning iso image it gives a final one saying CD not burned press enter to exit I have tried it 3 times now all with the same result, I have changed the CD writer from E to D as I have a DVD and CD writer it still does the same, Here is the note from the XPCREATE notepad folder, I think this is the one you were asking for on a previous topic.
  11. Hi I have a problem I am very new to this so please accept my apolagies for being slow on the learning. I have tried to run XP Create and have got to the point where I want to add my Sata drivers, I have looked through the forum and the instructions and do not understand where and how to put the drivers in. I can see that they should be put here Place your drivers somewhere in the FILESCD\$OEM$\$1\DRIVERS directory tree But I don't understand how to put them there, I can see the ( files CD ) in the folder that I set up for XP Create but when I open it, it is empty I cannot find anything what says $OEM$. I hope this is not like the one where on first installation it says press any key, I have heard that someone couldn't find a key which said any key on it. I hope that there is a simple answer as I think the whole XP Create looks to be great, one of the reasons for me wanting to create this CD is so that I can incorporate the SATA drivers. I have looked through the forum and cannot find where this has come up so it must be something quite simple that I just don't understand. Thank you for taking the time to read this, thanks especially to Green Machine for creating this wonderful tool.
  12. Hi can anyone help, some time ago I fitted a new Sata drive and all was OK until I try to do a new install, now when it is all up and running when it comes to shutting down it displays it is now safe to turn off your computer, when before it used to fully shut down. I have noticed that the computer shows as a standard pc when before it used to display uniprocessor ACPI, this is in device manager. I have trawled the internet and found on The Elder Geek's site that when it is time to press F6 for the Sata drivers press F5 instead then choose the uniprocessor ACPI computer option. Unfortunately when this is done I cannot then find a way to install the Sata drivers. I have tried the unattended CD and unfortunately I cannot work out how to do this, I have also tried the XPCREATE and cannot make that produce a working copy either, it is obviously something I am doing wrong I must say I really don't understand how to do it or the jargon and terminology that goes with it. I just want to do a clean install and make it shut down at the end of my session, is there a way to enable this ACPI uniprocessor part as on the Elder Geek they say it about impossible. Surely just that word impossible will make someone out there find a way, that's if you don't know already. I shall persevere and hope to understand more about this unattended stuff later, I am certainly picking up things everyday off this site. Thanks to all for your imput.
  13. Thanks I can now see it, I thought it was strange if it wasn't there, still hopfully I should remember how to see the folders fully now. thanks again, Andrew.
  14. Thanks I have now found the folder it confused me that I should be looking for XPCREATE .ini I don't know what the .ini is but it looks like the one in my folder is called XPCREATE text document 2 KB Bet you never come across a beginner as thick as me have you? Thanks for replying I shall now be able to have another go but unfortunately it won't be until tomorrow as I have to go out now.
