  1. its possible he intregrated everything but the kitchen sink....LOL...it does sound rather far-fetched for the size.
  2. dual layer DVD (8.5g)..probably around 7.9 actual
  3. maybe you could have taken one more step and done a 'full google' scan http://www.google.com/search?q=Windows+can...sonate+the+user
  4. maybe searching google might help http://www.google.com/search?q=KB929399&am...tf8&oe=utf8 and since your 'testing' with Enterprise...I suggest you deal with Microsoft Support
  5. and thats because you installed and unistalled Vista Smoker Pro 1.2....most bells and whistle programs have support forums...just for these kinds of things. http://www.xp-smoker.com/phpbb/index.php
  6. Explorer Performance Tweaks Click Start, right click on Computer, and click Properties. Click Advanced System Settings. Click on the Advanced tab. Under Performance, click Settings. Uncheck these options: Fade or slide menus into view Fade or slide tooltips into view Fade out menu items after clicking Show shadows under menus Slide open combo boxes Slide taskbar buttons Use a background image for each folder type google can be ones best helper
  7. here is a good guide http://www.beemerworld.com/tips/systemproperties.htm that mod is kinda fruity...lol
  8. lol...this is like someone wanting to stick a 45rpm record into a CD Player and expecting it to work...surely if a person can afford a Intel Core 2 Duo...they can upgrade their OS. even Windows XP (Student Version) is a leap into the 21st Century
  9. lol...yeah..thats a issue with Vista Recycle Bin..the 'empty' and 'delete' are spaced close together...if using Vista..right click the desktop..then click on 'personalize'..then at the top left under 'Task'..select 'change desktop icons' and re-check the box 'Recycle Bin'
  10. don't quit your day job....lol here is a link to bios beep codes for several bios:(AMI-Award-Phoenix) http://www.amptron.com/html/bios.beepcodes.html
  11. most likely they weren't deleted...or you would be 'formatting' them again...chances are when your 'edited' the boot.ini you removed them from showing up...and they became hidden or not active....you probably could have went to the disk manager as was suggested and brought them back.
  12. another cause could be poor quality media...
  13. I think he might have meant winsock32.dll....if you tried it with other clients...then its possible you have a trojan....or a technician that wanted to go home and not help you. possible trojan information: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ned...=Search+the+Web
  14. no kidding...post your 'list'....sounds like you pretty much raped and pillaged your Vista...LOL I know Media Player is set to autoupdate by default and you need to either disable it via 'registry' or 'Group Policy'..here is a site that has lots of info about Media Player Errors and Fixes: http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html
  15. you could probably google and work on your issue some: http://www.google.com/search?q=vista+media...tf8&oe=utf8
  16. I would be VERY serious about checking why your temp even gets to 76C....and yes I would defiantly replace something...seems your MB temp is about par. my CPU has been running pretty hard and its at 44C and my fan (60mmX60mm) is turning at 5037 RPMs...but you have to stick your head up against the case to hear it.....i just re-applied some Silver Artic...but I really didn't need it...since my temp went from 45C to 42C...and usually around 37-38C Idle.
  17. CPU Temp = 76 C (168.8 F) !!....what you need to do is fix this high temperture....you might be needing someone to put on some 'Silver Artic' or replace that heat sink/fan with one that is better apt in cooling that CPU....its also possible that fan has a broken fin or cracked fin....but you need to do some serious investigating on that high cpu temp.
  18. lol....you built this box in 2004 and now 3 years later it bothers you to the point to post about it...lol....it could be some bad bearings....or time to just replace it with a new 'quiet' one.
  19. the reason it don't work is because the PID for your XP isn't a OEM PID
  20. lets pretend that RDC is dependent on a .dll from, lets say 'Firewall'....then the best option would be to keep the Firewall option.....and then take 1 minute to click to Services and Disable the 'Firewall'.....sometimes you have butter your own toast....LOL
  21. I found my issue with the 'Scanner and Camera' If you elect to remove the 'Windows Photo Gallery'....then you will lose the 'Scanners and Camera' Icon and Applet in the Control Panel...and won't be able to view your connected Scanners or Camera...or be able to add Devices.
  22. I might have figured it out...i ran some googles and ran across some of this talk: With Windows Vista, Microsoft replaced the functionality of the Scanner and Camera Wizard with the Windows Photo Gallery. The Windows Photo Gallery allows ... and i removed the photo gallery...will make a new vlite of ultimate and keep the gallery and see.
  23. nope it has nothing to do with AE/WMP...here is my 'Last Session' log...and I too have no 'Camera/Scanner' in the control panel or anywhere to be found...luckily it detected my HP Scanner and installed it and shows up in the Device Manager Only....but i do have 'Phone and Modem' in the control panel...and 'modems' was removed in the session..so I wonder if that has something to do with it?
