  1. Thanks for your corrections. I wonder how I ended up with "http://page" in my link. :? And you're incredibly fluent with BATCH, much more than I will ever be. And why "/EVIL" ? Is it just something like foobar ?
  2. Same in France. Btw, ripken you killed me : I saw 7600GT at 80/100 whereas I bought mine at 150. € vs. £ in fact *big relief*
  3. The script is now running and is looking rather good. However, it seems MS'slist is now for Microsoft Update, not just Windows Update so you end up having fixes for Microsoft Office. And, I just received "; This is the Setup information file to install the Windows 98 SE Q239887 Update." Search for "<ProductFamily ProductFamilyID="1" Name="BackOfficeResourceKit" RecentProductVersionID="" />" and "<ServicePack ServicePackID="1" Name=".NET Framework Gold" URL="n/a" ReleaseDate="" />". Also a wonderful feature would be to have 2 simultaneous downloads.
  4. Workign, but why not compress everything except .man files ? Have a look at this page for ready-to-use implementation (thanks hp38quser).
  5. Did not find anything about the man files. Except at ryanvm which I don't visit often. And I was not aware of that wiki. I was pretty sure it had already been fixed. I had this error with HFSlip but remembered the warning in nlite. At least I learnt ASMS files are discovered : it seems windows checks for ASMS, then for a subfolder, another subfolder... until it finds some files which it tries to 'register' with a man file that has to be in the same folder. I'll delete ASMS and see how windows reacts.
  6. Maybe because of a download manager ?
  7. At least, spam is funny (that is the first I received in 7 days): I especially enjoyed the "(watch where your aiming) ". (there was some keywords between the lines, but normal user just couldn't see them, it just makes things easier for spam filters.
  8. You should have less icons on your desktop, they prevent people from seeing the wallpaper which is really nice.
  9. I know SegoeUI has been designed to be nice-looking when anti-aliased or so. it maybe has something to do with that. Anyway, I'm really happy I disabled it before coding various things again.
  10. Core 2 Duo are not so expensive : E6300 is etwa 185€. (I don't know why I use German words... ) E6300 is more powerful than the best A64 FX and much less expensive. For the same price, you get A64 (X2 or not) 4000+ which is getting mainstream if not already. I think there's nothing against Sempron64. And I don't think it was Intel's goal...
  11. My father bought a dell computer for his office. The first time I saw it, I thought I had again some problem at my eye. Then I realized the upper-left corner was far less bright than the rest of the screen. Impossible to escape... For your text problem, you may try to disable ClearType. It seems weird but it makes everything much more readable. In fact, it's only eye-candy. I used it during some time and a friend of mine asked me why all the letters were blurry. I deactivated it and realized letters appeared as letters, readable letters... Also, 17" TFT screens are ok. It's not a problem at all. But 19" is just bigger. However it's a pity many of them are only 1280x1024.
  12. But I wonder what is the best way to deal with Opera's components.
  13. Thanks a lot.
  14. talking about that, has anyone noticed how its complete junk. doesnt even work with opera, wtf is that. I'm sorry, it displays. Ok there's a big thing in the middle of the page and mousewheel up makes the page scroll down. But that's not much. Is it ?
  15. new devientart. And I agree this is a nice desktop.
  16. I can confirm the error is in hfslip. Or at least in a hotfix : my man files are CABbed.
  17. ... but I guess it has been solved in nlite a few releases ago. After some (read *lots*) trials, I found out *.MAN files had to remain uncabbed. That's all. I think nlite already does that but help text for this option has not been changed yet. That's all.
  18. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT ! I finally got it, ... thanks to Tomcat. The worst thing is he gave me the solution immediately : *.MAN files have to remain uncompressed. That's all. No, I have to check if hflsip cabs this file on its own. :?
  19. Thanks for the clarification.
  20. Yes it does. ^^
  21. I tried without nlite and I still got the error and I think hfslip cabs the files itself. I'm slowly debugging that. Extracting files one by one. Hopefully, I don't have to go through the whole textmode part of setup. edit : I had to extract the content of 4 folder to get this back. Now, I wonder what the error is. I suspect it has something to do with compression method. PS: T-39 is later on and filemon is now running : 260.000th entry in the log has been reached. :woot: Err.... 300.000 entry I mean. No, 310.0000...
  22. Ok. In fact, this is a problem with hfslip (and I think I already had it last month, CPU is stable and this happened on more than 5 isos) -> Filemon.
  23. It has already happened. nLite's help says ASMS recompression may cause bugs. I don't know if it is hfslip's fault or not. I'll make some new tests soon. I only learnt makecab outputs a different file, depending on where the source file is stored! This bug is also really funny : it complains about one file. You replace this file with a working one. Then it complains about another file. You replace that one with a working one too and it complains about a third file (the 3 files are in 10\....). And once you have replaced all files in the folder, it complains about "ASMS" folder itself. I'll see if T-39/DetachedPrograms+Filemon is of any help. edit: now installing a non-nlited iso.
  24. http://www.savefile.com/files/4105394 Still have the normal g icon and no custom reg entry. Add ".exe" to the end of the file name (stupid file types restrictions)
  25. Done an updated installer, and it's pretty easy to do in fact. I have one question : is g.ico for .gz files ?
