Camarade_Tux
Hi everybody, I was discussing about nlitement on another board and had an idea to ease component restore (had no time to check it).As far as I remember, sysoc.inf can be used to play with optionnal components but leaving it with antries that have been removed will result in errors during installation. What would happen if winnt.sif was used to disable the installation of an optionnal component ?Would we still get an error ?And if this is not enough to restore a component (a missing .inf), I'll be glad to write a script to automate that. Innocent Devil
when u use winnt.sif to disable optional componets u need the components to be present in the cdso size increasesSetup first checks the sysoc then its dependancies ,that is the required infs, files specified in the infs etc.it is done in the preinitialization stage (check the optional comopnets log file)in post initilization if all are satisfied &when it is ready to install i checks for winnt.sif (which was copied to $winnt$.inf in sysetm32) componets which are marked =0, will not be installedin effect there will not be any nLitement to the CD size
